    I like your kayak and the way you have it set up. I really keep mine very simple, there isn't a lot of stuff to take off or load/unload. I keep a couple of rods, a couple of plastic tackle boxes with a few baits, a couple bottles of water, a pair of pliers life jacket and paddle. A couple of important thins in my life jacket. Makes it easy to load as well as keeping it light! Great video! Thanks for sharing.

    Nice set up Bro. I really like your thought process for layout. Everything looks to be designed for ease of use and function defined. I try to do the same on my kayak. Keep the videos coming.

    Great lookin setup! I love my Anchor Wizard and use it with an anchor trolley instead of with the chute. I wished my transducer could have been mounted in the scupper, but it was too long (Lowrance Tripleshot) and wouldn’t be protected when beaching, so I had to use the Scotty Transducer Mount 141 on the side.

    Great video and really enjoy watching them all. Ok I have to ask, I asked once before about getting the Crescent lite tackle and you said it was the best. ( I’ll be river fishing, fly fishing, and overnight trips, good gear space, and stand up stability). Would love to see a comparison between 1. The lite tackle, shoalie , and the CK1 or I’ll take your word on the best you like. All so would love to see your set up on your truck for loading and hauling your kayak. I don’t ask for much lol 😂 thanks in any information and keep the videos a coming.

      No problem bud! I’ve never been on a CK1. I will talk to H2:4 about borrowing one for a demo.
      Between the Shoalie and Lite Tackle, for your needs. I would go with the LT. OR have you heard about the LT ll? It’s a cross between the Lite and Shoalie. Releases this month. I would wait on that. I will share soon how I load. Tight lines bud!

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  Před rokem +1

      There has been a few times we’re I would get out before passing through an area and pull out the pole. I can hit the button once a few times to drop it lower with it being so high. Hasn’t been an issue lately with the wider rivers I’ve been hitting though which is nice. Thanks for watching

    Hey boss. Great video of you're shoalie setup. Just picked mine up yesterday so I'm gonna get it rigged out this week. I have a couple of questions. First of all I will only use this boat for river fishing so do you think i really need the turrets for the rod tubes. I can permanently mount them in the tilted position with out those right? Do you find it more difficult to get them out and in when they're tilted down like that?
    Secondly can you give me a name or link to that lure hilder you have mounted in the ketch board slot. Do you use that alot? On my hobies i have the jig holder pockets for the purpose of holding used lures

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  Před rokem +1

      Bait keeper is nice! I use it a lot especially when I’m packing light and don’t bring my blackpak. It has two little holes for set in screws. Definitely reinforce it with those vs just the 3m.
      www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gruv_Fishing_Hard_Bait_Launch_Pad/descpage-GHBL.html?from=gshop&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIg4nosbbS_gIVpQ5lCh15qQiwEAQYAyABEgIgjvD_BwE
      On the turrets, the box didn’t allow me to stage the poles at an angle without skipping a screw or I was too dumb to figure it out. 😂 so I got the turrets for that reason where I could do it at every angle. I’m 6’ and I have no issue turning, unhooking the bungee keeper and retrieving the rods. I like the height better too vs using the shoalie rod keepers that are on the kayak frame behind the seat. For some reason, I snag my rods more when they are in the shoalie stagers vs elevated on my blackpak pro. You might be able to figure out away to install them without the turrets, but you are limited. You can do them horizontally, but it was hard for me to retrieve them and gravity would Sid them out easier especially if you forgot to bungee them with the provided hook. Tight lines!

    Nice set up. I just picked up a shoalie yesterday! How do you store yours and transport yours? I want to store it right side up for ease but don’t want to ruin the hull.

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  Před rokem

      Appreciate it! Welcome to the club!
      I use the ceiling hoist in my garage to get it up and out of the way. Right side up is fine as long as the kayak doesn’t get too hot. I wouldn’t have it resting on or near the nose of the kayak. The front end of the kayak is softer and it will leave a dent on the hull. Anywhere behind the front hatch underneath is reinforced especially where the scuppers start. The soft spot is underneath the front hatch area. Avoid hauling the kayak on crossbars in this area too. I have a kayak trailer, but most of the time I haul it on my tbar extender in my truck bed. Tight lines!

    I dont know if you answered this already but do you feel the anchor wizard gets in your way padding mounted in that location? Curious in high and low seat angles.

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  Před 11 měsíci

      I love it being in the front especially if the water is high and rolling. The only issue I have occasionally is when the fish swims across the line and gets hung up.

  • @KyleM_from_the_Ozarks

    It looks like you're not running the anchor wizard and anchor chute in your newer videos. Is that because you're only using the power pole? I'm considering the anchor wizard and chute on the bow, but I rooftop my kayak and really don't want to lose that front handle for transporting it, so I keep going back and forth on that.

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  Před rokem +1

      I’ve been fishing a lot of shallow moving water lately, so I’ve been using my anchor pole more to hold better in current and I like to stop before going over the good stuff. I use my wizard when it’s deeper.

    Can you give me some detail on the power pole install? Hardware used and any obstacles.

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  Před 5 měsíci

      On the Shoalie, the main obstacle was attaching the power pole bracket to the kayak itself. Unfortunately, the PowerPole bolts were too short, so I bought some longer ones (stainless) from hardware store so I can easily fit a locking nut on each of them inside the hull. Another huge issue was still trying to use tools to tighten the nuts on the inside. The space is too tight with very little room for error. I wish they would have gave us more space to work with in there. It would help if they would have made something like this for the Shoalie to install things easier.

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  Před 5 měsíci

      Unfortunately this is not for the Shoalie.
      After I got it installed, I was worried about the bolts stripping out once the power pole was deployed cuz I couldn’t get the nuts bolted tight enough. I ended up using some marine grade JB weld to reinforce it. Well it worked, it’s sound now without any movement. lol it took way longer than needed, but it was an awesome attachment. Use it all the time. Just don’t forget to make a safety pull rope just in case the battery dies.

    • @Itchin2Fish

      czcams.com/video/GqbAjsT54Ac/video.html
      Had it for a year and a half before this one. Loved it! Wish I had room to keep it. The Lite tracks better, more stable and has a better storage capacity for gear. If you are a bigger guy, it would be better for stability. The shoalie paddles faster, turns better and gets through shallower water. It’s not as stable and tracks good, but not like the Lite. Both are good for moving water, the Lite will be more versatile for all types of water.

      @@Itchin2Fish I want to thank you too for this honest comparison. You should do a video on this in of itself.. Lots of us want to know this from someone like yourself. I have the LT & CK1 and though the Shoalie is priced competitively compared to other dedicated fishing yaks, it's still a lot more than the LT & CK1. Heck, it's even more than the Crew, which has to cost more to manufacture than the Shoalie based on more molding material, two seats and even buying the optional pad & track kits. I can't currently justify the Shoalie being I'm not a tournament fisher. But I'd like one in my quiver just because.

    • @Itchin2Fish
      @Itchin2Fish  Před rokem +1

      @@johnstipic1628 totally understand! The outfitter I talked to shared that the shoalie is higher due to the mods of course, but also they had to create a new cast obviously for the mold. That raised the price. It is an awesome kayak and well thought out, but with the price of the CK and Lite, you can’t go wrong with those. Lite would be my favorite due to the versatility of it.
      I will see if I can get a video together. I’m not that knowledgeable like Headwaters on eddying etc, but I can share my humble honest opinion. 😂
      Thanks for commenting and the feedback

      @@Itchin2Fish I've watched Headwaters & Wade Harrison review these crafts.. However neither has done an apples to apples comparison on the river. Headwaters did the Shoalie on faster moving river but not the CK1. Wade did the CK1 on faster moving river but not the Shoalie. My take away is; That the CK1 is way more agile in faster moving water than the Shoalie. Obviously the Shoalie is way more set up for tournament fishing than all prior Crescents. Though what I'd really like to know is; How much difference in the draft between the CK1 & Shoalie? It's a given the LT will not draft as well as either the CK1 or Shoalie. Anyway, you might have to upgrade your wife to a CK1 for comparison. Thanks again:)
