This is part 2 of an extensive review and build up of the AMT 1/25 Scale Kenworth Truck & Peerless Logging Trailer with several tutorials and prototype analysis.

Boomer, this was the best hour and twenty minutes I have spent in some time. I have an AMT D8 kit that I will be trying your suggested weathering approaches on as I finally start construction. The kit has been in the closet for over forty years. Thanks for the inspiration. You have the best web site for a fellow boomer to escape to on occasion. I like the fact you flow effortlessly through different scales and subject matter.

I was hoping to see another video this week. Thank You Boomer! Fascinating detail on the trailer. It's interesting to see how technique is basically the same if the proper steps are followed. The air lines and engine detail are a really nice authentic touch. Also, how to make cable clamps- I never would have thought of that! Having driven several different make of trucks back in the early 70's the model brings back a lot of memories. The early 1970's were a magical time for large truck design. Cheers
I have never tried to weather any truck build as it just didn't make sense to me. After watching part 1 you seem to have gelled stuff in my understanding. A great couple of episodes many thanks
This Director's cut episode is ful of wonderful little (and big) tips. I was impressed with your chipping with earth tone filters. How clever is that. Reminded me of one of our earliest conversations about earth tones being in everything and acting as a connecting tone. Cool sir.

A few yrs ago I was at my local hobby shop and came across that peerless log truck kit , they had five kits I bought 4 still have 3 waiting for trucks , nice attention to detail on this truck and trailer, you just earned a sub
Very cool! I saw another one the other day and almost bought it for the same reasons you did. Next to trains and dioramas, I love the classical 1/25th scale trucks. I just bought a really cool truck model (Wrecker) kit in 1/87th scale the other day. Great work, thank you! I loved the old instructions when I was a kid, they actually stated what color to paint the parts and what the part is; filter, alternator, etc. I learned a lot about working on real cars by building models back in the day. Now days I have 600+ part armor model and not one items is identified. :-)
Lol . . . I loved the challenge of building without the instruction. Then when I "goofed" up I would go back and read them. The modern kits are stunning to say the least. Cheers.

killer build. i would just point out that a logging truck has a frame extension past the rear tandems and only critiquing as its a truly amazing build dude! great job! that era truck was 240 inch wheelbase and a three foot stinger!

There is no part 3 in post production yet even though it is produced. I have not published it yet. The River Road layout is the priority project and brand of the channel right now. When I need a brake from the layout, I work on the truck. Cheers and thanks for watching. 😁

I still work on this truck from time-to-time. Its a very long and complicated (old kit) project which I hope to finish one day. I usually work on ti when I need a break from the layout.😁
Hey I'm doing a 359 tri axle Peterbilt and I've ordered new bolsters question how far does the rear extend to the front Incase I need to order tubing to make it longer
Yes! I have been blasting off some of the excellent "injection molded" Bandai Star Wars series kits. The detail is superb. I just love a good model here: czcams.com/video/3wRT968s6ic/video.html and here: czcams.com/video/UZbPaSvYwf0/video.html
I use a "rattle" can like Tamiya "Flat Coat" # PS-55, usually, when I dull coat. I recycle all my Tamiya paint bottles. They clean up good in a jar with Isopropyl Alcohol then washed up with dish detergent. Save them all. They are good quality glass bottles. Otherwise check your local hobby shop and they can provide bottles as well from other manufactures. I also find prospecting and gold panning supply stores to be excellent for small glass bottles. Cheers.

Sometimes doing other models and scales can filter back for more creative model railroading. It also helps in not getting burned out. Good job.

Hard to imagine how old the kit is. It's a good basis for a build like this.

You can use led wire to detail as well I've got different sizes of wire led soder that's used for plumbing and electronics makes good for details
