    I hope you get the car done before the next tour or even ls swap fest! I’m doing a similar swap myself.

    Did those 10 bolt tubes slide right into the 8.8 tubes?

    You mention that the 8.8 would get sleeved at 2:14. Were sleeves needed, or did the 10 bolt axles slip right into the 8.8 tubes? I have seen some internet posts stating that they will slip fit into the Ranger and Crown Vic 8.8 axle tubes.

      From what I've read (on the Agearhead4life FB page) if you use a ranger 8.8 you don't need the spacers. Supposedly they taper before going into the center section.

    I like your Video on the 8.8 rear end its my next project.. How ever would like to Know how your exhaust turns out will you be installing a True Dual exhaust?

      Im a cheap ass and didn't want to pay $550 for the true dual kit that needed to be modified anyway. I have a 3" single pipe with magnaflow muffler that I ordered from summit for less than $200 total and I will make some piping to merge it to my headers

    Your sleeve concept is something diff builders like me have done with GM 8.6 10 bolt smaller axle tubes with 10 bolt 8.5, 8.2 ,or 7.5 axle tubes on top. I always weld housings cold. Heat treat is only helpful if doing cast iron that gets super hot like manifolds that have flexing and expanding issues. There is lots of theory about it out there. Like the video a bunch and am now convinced more young guys are making tons of LS engine builds and drivetrain videos preserving and modding hot rodding classics then any other time 🤙. Keep on creating your cool build with more videos coming.

    Awesome set up man!.... My fuel system is almost exactly like yours i just have to finish up the wiring for the pump....my question is where did you hook up your ground for the fuel pump & where did you hook up your ground for the sending unit (fuel gauge)?

    • @redriverracing8985
      @redriverracing8985  Před 3 lety

      I used all the factory wiring for the fuel sending unit, I believe the wires were black and purple iirc. I wired the ground to a clean spot on the chassis with a big self tapper, I think it was in one of the holes where a heat shield was at some point

      @@redriverracing8985 was the ground that you used the big self tapper on the frame in the back? Or somewhere else?

    do you know what year rangers can use the 28 spline axels?

    • @redriverracing8985
      @redriverracing8985  Před 3 lety

      I believe all rangers that had the 8.8 were 28 spline, but it has been a while since I really looked into it

    • @redriverracing8985
      @redriverracing8985  Před 3 lety

      yes it can, and I didn't realize that dutchmen axle made custom 31 spline axles for a small amount more than I payed for the 28 spline. Had I known that previously I probably would have gone with the 31
