      +SRfastZ I'd honestly go with the 3:73s out of the 2. That's generally an "all around" good gear. That's most likely what I'm going with too.

    Well, the finished product is a thing of beauty no doubt. but that's a hell of a lot of heat put into the rear especially for the torque arm mount. I've got to wonder about warpage as a result.
    Begs the question what steps are taken to control or correct it?

    • @Scwoodsy
      @Scwoodsy  Před 6 lety +5

      We build these in house and have shipped over 100 of them just this year, the trick to not warping the housing is to pre-heat the cast center then move around to prevent warpage.

      If it’s a stock ford rear, yes, one axle is longer than another, but if it’s been modified for an f-body, it shouldn’t be

    • @hankman911utube
      @hankman911utube Před 7 lety +2

      If you are really pushing 400 hp you better get a new rearend with after market sub frame connectors and lower control arms.
      I didnt on my 85 iroc after i put a 350 4bolt main 30 over 10.5 flat top pistions 495 lift roller rocker cam set up and all the rest of the good stuff.
      Well i dint even take a few weeks and i blew out the stock rearend.Had new richmond after market gears put in and the tech wasnt able to get the perfect mesh so there was just a very little bit of a whine.
      Well them gears lasted about a month.I was so made i went back to the place where i had them installed and insisted they replace em for free.This time the tech and the tech foreman and myself installed a new set of gears and coulndnt get the gears to mesh.Upon further inspection we noticed that the pight side of the axle had a twist/bend and the tork arm that connects from the tranny to rearend was twisted also
      So yes if your going to have some tires that hook up well do the modifications.

      @invaliduzername377 Před 7 lety +3

      Ace Gotcha Gaming Tips a v6 firebird wont need a rear end this beefed up unless you start putting out more power with the engine a stock 10 bolt should last you longer than youll probably have the car if i were you i would rebuild yours or swap it for a good one out of a donor car

    • @rogerramjet5092
      @rogerramjet5092 Před 6 lety

      In All honestly, unless it's turboed; pretty hard probably not needed. I would spend the money on a power adder. This rear axle is for cars that are in danger or have broken the stock 7" 10 bolt. it doesn;t add any power or make your car faster by itself. It's an upgrade for strength.

    • @invaliduzername377
