  • This video covers what it takes to visit the land in the winter. After a long drive, there is 10Km of snow covered road which is used as a skidoo trail in the winter. Using my 2023 Polaris Ranger SP Premium 570 with Camso UTV tracks. Purpose of the visit was to check on the canvas tent after 50 cm (roughly 20 inches) of snow to ensure it still standing and to clear off the snow.

I was relieved to see your shelter still standing under the weight of all that snow!

Ya, that amount of weight would have likely been too much for the old frame as well. Happy that I don't have to worry about that anymore.

Looks like a really nice setup you have there.

Yes, aside from the trouble I was having with the SxS. Hoping that's behind me see. See: czcams.com/video/xQjuwrkyTdQ/video.html for the issues I've been dealing with.

How does the 570 do? Any regrets not getting the 1000 or the 1000 XP?

    • @TheLandAndLegacy

Short answer, it does well and no regrets in the 570 versus the 1000. It's a great tool, and enough machine for what I'm doing, but I've been having trouble trusting it to get me 10 km in, where there is no cell service, and back out again without issues. The main problem is a speed sensor issue. It's back in the shop again now, where they will likely be putting in the 4th speed sensor. It seems to be related to the tracks as I had no issues over the summer with the wheels on. Would the 1000 have had the same problems? Not sure. It's unclear what the root cause is or what will be done to address this. I do always make it back out, so far, and in limp mode some times, but it's hard to trust when I'm having these kind of problems.

@@TheLandAndLegacy I seen another guy on youtube have the exact same issue, he didnt have tracks. He had the issue on his second day of riding showing his buddies his new ride on pavement and the thing went into limp mode. Now I cant remember for sure if it was the 570 polaris or the 600 cfmoto.
How do you like the tracks? I am looking at the 570 northstar, or just going all in for the ultimate. If i get the 570, i could afford to put tracks on right away, with I got the ultimate, I would probably wait until next year or see if I can get used. Are the tracks worth it? I have snowmobiles with a sleigh, but running to the ice shack in a heated cab in the side by side hauling my gear seems appealing

@@acreageliving This speed sensor issue is a real pain in the butt. I got it back from the shop on Thursday, with their confidence that they solved the problem this time (3rd speed sensor fix), and the dam thing blew again on Sat on the way up, only 3-4 Km into my ride. ARG!
The Northstar is a sweet setup. I don't think it comes in the 570 though. Unless I was just trying to save some cash? I had the heater and full cap added to mine. The tracks are awesome. There is no stopping that thing (when it's running right). It's not fast compared to a sled though. With the tracks on the ratio is changed and you get about 2/3 or 1/2 of the speed. Top speed for my 570 with tracks is somewhere between 40-60 km/hr. That is fine for me, as it more about hauling my gear, and a friend (or two is we squish) up to the land/camp.

@@TheLandAndLegacythe 570 Northstar is certainly a thing. My bro owns one and I have contacted about three dealers with them in stock! Not sure you would have saved much money. I think it’s cheaper to buy the Northstar then fit a unit with everything it has. I am now looking at a defender does cab. It’s only 3 thousand Canadian more for a full size and 20 more hp. Also I think more options than the 570 Northstar. I know nothing about can ams though, need to do more research

@@acreageliving Interesting. I guess my dealership is not great then. This would not surprise me as I also bought a trailer from them at the same time as the SxS and they gave me one with high sides. Didn't work at all for my needs. I had to cut parts of the side out to make it work.
I can't say for why for sure, but I do know I looked into the Northstar and it didn't work for me or I couldn't get it. If you can, I'd say go for that for sure. If you want more of a trail rider I think the can ams are better.

built, not build. One of the first things a got setup actually. Nothing worse than having no place to go when you need too.
