    The 2018 Ranger 570 is the best tool I ever bought! Plowing through 18 inches of snow was a challenge, but it performed well! It’s not a $100k 4x4 truck, but it does very well! No issues after 5 years!

    I have a Polaris 700, add 300 to 400 lbs in the back, it ready helps. Look for old car tire chains at yard sales or a friend garage junk. I used some “new” G78 x 14” chains (from the late 1970s) that had small bars on the cross chains. They fit great, only had to shorten the side chains 6 “: Fantastic traction now. Nice video

      Thank you for your informative and helpful comment. I will definitely add weight to the back when we get another heavy snowfall like the one in the video. The last two Winters have been so mild, I haven't installed the plow.

    Back your plow in, put some wheel dollies under the blade and you can easily push it around in your garage for storage or for hooking it back up. You have a straight shot out the garage that way. Snowblow 6ft infront of the garage door. Makes it easier to turn the snowplow around.
    Install an end brkt.on the driver's side. Order a 6" x 6ft rubber belt and bolt it to the top across the blade it will
    help "roll the snow" to the right open side on a tilt angle..

      Don’t be too jealous! The trail into the woods has two feet of snow and I can’t get back there to buck any logs and I’m almost out of firewood. In addition, the wood yard is under two feet of snow and my rounds are buried. We have a thaw coming up on Wednesday, so hopefully a lot of it will melt. Thanks for watching and have a great day!

    You got at least double the snow we did and way more in the way of drifts. We ended up getting some rain which made the snow heavy. Your equipment did a nice job for you. Fun video to watch!

      Hey Darrin, Thanks for your comment! I was surprised how deep the snow was! We had lake effect (Lake Erie) snow all night, which caused a massive dump on us. It took about an hour to clear the snow.

      It's the best "tool" that I ever bought! Of course, it won't plow like a 4 wheel drive truck, but it gets the job done, even with 18 inches of snow. Last year we had very little snow and I didn't use the plow.

    Are you still happy with the Polaris 570 and plow system. I’m looking to pick the same machine and plow.

    • @AdventuresAtHome1
      @AdventuresAtHome1  Před rokem +1

      Yes, I’m still happy with it. It struggles a bit in very deep snow (18 inches+), since it doesn’t have the weight of a 4x4 truck, but it does very well for it’s size. The new models have even more horsepower. Mine is a 2018 with 34 hp.

    Bit of a strange question, but do you find 4WD the best for working in snow or do you ever use 2WD or turf mode?
    I just bought the same ATV in Switzerland and haven’t yet decided which is best.

    • @AdventuresAtHome1
      @AdventuresAtHome1  Před rokem +1

      I always use 4WD in the snow, especially when plowing deep snow. You need all of the traction that you can get when plowing deep snow. Sometimes, I still get stuck and have to back up a few feet and ram into it to get going again. The snow gets very heavy, thus the need for good traction. Thanks for watching and I hope that you get a lot of service out of your Ranger! It has been very dependable for me. You will want to trickle charge the battery periodically to keep it charged for starting.

    • @nathanm5388
      @nathanm5388 Před rokem

      @@AdventuresAtHome1 thank you that’s really helpful. I’ve generally been using 4WD when it’s deeper snow but sometimes have used turf mode when it’s not deep and I find that the front wheel then steer better when they’re not trying to gain traction at the same time.
      Yes I’ve ordered a trickle charger. I read that one of the 12V sockets on the dashboard can be used for a trickle charger. Do you just flip yours to the battery or use the 12V cigarette socket?
      Thanks for your advice. The videos are great and informative. Enjoy your winter too!

    • @AdventuresAtHome1
      @AdventuresAtHome1  Před rokem +1

      I haven’t heard about using the auxiliary socket for trickle charging. I just checked my manual and it doesn’t mention that. I just attach the charger directly to the battery. How’s the weather there? We are expecting some very cold weather this weekend (10 degrees F).

    • @nathanm5388
      @nathanm5388 Před rokem

      @@AdventuresAtHome1 Yes I wasn’t sure either but one of the dealer reviews mentioned about the charger socket. They said it was the top one on the right. I’ve just bought a trickle charger (2A) which I plan to install next week when I’m back in Switzerland.
      We had a very cold week last week -18C and some good snowfall. We have about 2 feet at the top of the mountain. This week is much warmer (above 0C). But more snow (12”) forecast this week.
      Thank you for your help and for checking about the charger.

    • @AdventuresAtHome1
      @AdventuresAtHome1  Před rokem +3

      OK. If the dealer told you about the charger socket, that may be true. It's probably a new feature. My Ranger is a 2018 model. I'm actually using a trickle charger from an old brush hog. Stay warm and safe and Merry Christmas!

      We had very little snow last Winter and I didn't even bother to install the plow. It would be a lot of fun with an xp 1000! The 570 gets the job done, but you may have to take a couple cracks at the high piles of snow.

    • @AdventuresAtHome1

      I use the snow blower for the 22' by 22' concrete pad in front of the garage. I can do a neater job with the snow blower in tight areas. Also, I don't want to risk plowing into the light pole. he plow is used for the other 250' of driveway. Thanks for your comment!
