Europeans think it’s weird that the best prospects are forced to go to the worst franchises, especially with blatant tanking compromising competitiveness. But I think it has a lot of pros and cons, it creates a better product when you have each team with high quality players and they can build towards a championship within 1 rookie contract cycle. However, it’s unfair to prospects that they have to get inferior training and preparation in comparison to peers that will stifle their careers. One way I think we can mitigate this is shortening rookie contracts to 2-3 years instead of 4-5 and limiting franchise tags.

Yes, but having a cap and utilizing this process would be beneficial for players and franchises. Releasing players 2 years early when not working out would help save some cap space as well as being able to extend players early, ensuring you have a discount on premium talent should they sign. On the other side, it gives players the freedom and versatility to seek preference and fit if they aren’t being treated properly by the front office. It’s a win-win in my book, the Daniel Jones situation wouldn’t be a thing for the giants (which is limiting the team building capabilities) and Fields would’ve been somewhere else by now.

@ 5:11 I remember this like yesterday. As a Vancouver Grizzlies fan I was incredibly excited they were drafting STEVEY FRANCHISE!
When he said no to Vancouver I was devastated especially knowing that the Grizzlies relocated from Vancouver to Memphis.
I got the chance to meet Steve Francis 2 years ago in Vancouver at a movie premiere he starred in (the Grizzlie truth, a film about the Grizzlies in Vancouver) & mentioned he has no ill will against Vancouver whatsoever it was just situational and timing. They drafted 2 PG’s the 2 previous drafts and the draft prior when Mike Bibby got selected he played the same ball dominant role as Francis plus the previous 4 seasons (since their inaugural season) the Grizzlies had the worst winning % in the league.
Was extremely salty at the time but looking back I understand where he was coming and most us Vancouver fans have forgiven him.

Shadeur is a top five qb in college. Last year he had one of the worst offensive lines and he still balled. I'm pretty sure Colorado won one game prior to Prime getting there. Give him a few more seasons.

Im with Keyshawn. Im an eagles fan for starters. But what the Bears did to fields in Chicago made my stomach turn. Im glad hes in Pittsburgh. He'll not only have the spotlight off him for now. He'll play behind a superbowl winning qb who wants to show Denver what they lost. And more importantly its a stable franchise with continuity at coaching and in the front office. The beauty of the draft is that it’s designed to help the bad teams get better. Now that doesn’t always happen but for the most part it does. It also helps to have parity in the league which makes the game more exciting for the fans. If players start choosing where they want to go you’ll have a very lopsided league.

There are definitely some organizations in the NFL that are content with just making revenue and not having winning seasons annually. It's quite obvious. You saw it in 2012 with the "Suck for Luck" sweepstakes.
