    Pretty clever! If I may, one suggestion: Put some protection (piece of old carpeting or something) over bumper and then put the wheeled end of the tote in first. That way you wouldn't have to lift entire tote/bike off the ground, just get the wheels up to the bumper. Happy travels!

    A better alternative avoiding any heavy fat tire e-bike lifting. First raise the empty plastic container vertically, then roll in the foldable 60 pounds Aipas A2 Elite (almost identical e-bike to Lectric XP 3.0) to the vertically-positioned bin. Unfold the car dog ramp and slide the bin with the foldable step-through e-bike in the vehicle trunk. No any lifting required compared to video-displayed method. Enjoy your e-bike transportation.

      @@ktkamping4975 Thanks for replying! Is it easier to carry the tote than the bike? If it's not really easier then it's not useful to have the tote because it's almost like lifting 2x. One time to lift bike into tote, and then another time from tote to trunk. And repeat that process in reverse when unloading, so now it's like 4x lifting. The banging around can be fixed with other means (e.g. thick blanket).

      @@ktkamping4975 I have been watching other vids to see what tote they use and I like the way you are able to fit the folded handle bar inside the tote as well, which might not work in a 40 or 50 gallon container. I'm putting my bike in the back seat of a 2011 C300 Mercedes and have already done it without a tote, without much problem, but I want to try loading this by myself and sliding in a tote seems the easiest and safest way for my interior. I'm a little surprised you can get the bike in that Commander width-wise unless your container bows out at the wheel spindles a bit. I have a Lectric 2.0.

    • @ktkamping4975
      @ktkamping4975  Před 2 lety

      @@eldnah2 The tote works great. It is much wider at the top. Both bikes fit very well. I will say my wifes step through fits a little easier than my regular xp does. We got the totes to keep them from banging around when loaded and to also save the interior of the car. I do not think the smaller tote would work. I think the 2.0 would fit nicely in the commander that we have. Sorry to hear they are hard to come by. Taking the handle bars off makes them much easier to deal with when loading.

      You can hide an Apple Air Tag on the bike. Some cities and states require ebikes to have an audible bell. There are some handlebar mounted bells that conceal the Air Tag as well as a few other holders. Or, just secure it under the seat or on the backside of the display. Try preventing the theft first by using a high quality lock and or chain as a deterrent so that the thief will ignore your bike. Preventing theft is much easier than retrieving a stolen bike!
