OMG your T-shirt 🥰🇺🇦 Thanks for the fantastic recipes, the carpaccio one is def something I'm gonna try! Here in Ukraine, apart from the obvious beets in the borscht, we often make a simple salad out of boiled grated beets. You'd want to add onions or lots of garlic in it, season it with oil+vinegar dressing or mayo, and sometimes people would also put walnuts or prunes in it (that's the version without onions). Also please don't get scared if your pee turns pink after eating too much of this salad or any other beety dish 🤗

hi. could you pls translate for the rest of us? 😍 stay safe.
I hope peace comes to your people fast. make love, and veggies, not war. ❤️

@@dijanagugicbokun3833 Sure, thank you 💜 It says: 'r*ssian warship, go f**k yourself' (I hope this comment doesn't get to be deleted). The word 'go' is written in a way to resemble a Ukrainian coat of arms (Trident)

A local vegan restaurant here in Ireland serves a choice of 2 salads with each main. I always choose the beetroot and mushroom salad. Yum! I'd also like to second the request to translate the T-shirt for us non-Ukranians please! I'm guessing it's expressing solidarity with Ukraine, and I'd like to join in acting in solidarity with all the Ukrainians fighting for their homeland, or families fleeing to safety!

@@KL89452 beetroots rule! thank you for your support ✊ The T-shirt is explaining the direction where the russian warship should go, which is what a Ukrainian border guard Roman Hrybov said to a Russian flagship Moskva, the one that has been sunken 2 weeks ago. It's roughly translated as 'russian warship go f yourself', there's even a wiki article about it now 😅

@@huncher.puncher thanks for the help with translating. We're very familiar with the story of the Ukrainian border guard here in Ireland. Now that I know how it's written in Ukrainian, I'll be ordering a tshirt myself as well, for sure!
You're so right about the beets. They're also so packed with nutrients that help with exercise performance, I even add them to my green veggie pre-workout smoothies.
Hoping that you, and all those close to you, stay safe and well. 🙏🇺🇦🌻

If you really want it baby smooth, put your tinned chickpeas in cold water and remove the skins. Yes, it’s a few extra minutes work but so so worth it.

spread them out between paper towels and rub on it for a while to simply rub the skins off 👍

One of the best beetroot snacks.
Grate 500 grams of boiled beets on a medium grater. Grate 100 grams of fresh garlic on a fine grater. Grate 100 grams of fresh horseradish on a fine grater. Grind 100 grams of walnut. Mix everything together in a large glass or ceramic bowl. Season with vegan mayonnaise and salt to taste. Eat with fresh rye bread.

What a very good idea, to make different recipes with the same vegetable. There are many vegetables that many People don't use, because they don't know, what to do with it. Like fennel, kohlrabi, red cabbage. So, big thank you and please more of them😎👍🏻

I'm so glad that I researched beetroot recipes and found your video first. Just to put this into perspective I've had all but one metre of my intestine removed over the years from having Crohns Disease which makes eating so painful. I also have high functioning aspergers so I have food traits that restrict me, for example I don't like mixing ingredients so eating a stir-fry is out for me even though I will eat most ingredients if separated. It frustrates me and I'm 100% aware that it frustrated my Mum as well. I decided that each week I will taste a different ingredients and this week it's beetroot. I have only once tried a bite of tinned beetroot and didn't like it but I like to try matching tastes I already like with new ones (I'm going to add sumac to the hummus, I usually have it on cauliflower) and in different ways so I can give it a good try. I love to cook, bake, dehydrate and everything else to do with food which is weird considering my health situation so CZcams is my cookbook. Your video is the first ever that I've clicked on that I would be okay eating all the ingredients and mixed up as well and it's not just the Irish accent although I could listen to your accents all day. I live in New Zealand but my grandfather was from County Cork (last name Sheehan). Anyway I'm looking forward to checking out your channel. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and I'm going to look at your new book. Xx
