You'll save time, money, the hassle of cleaning between grinds.
I just got this adapter. Can't wait to try it
I’m guessing it uses the same plates?
Each adapter uses the same size plates as the original unit your are adapting it to. #8 Adaptor-#8 plates, #12 Adaptor uses #12 plates, and so on.
Will this work on other grinders? Have a Meat your maker grinder.
No it doesn't work unless you have the proper auger and throat.
I just put it in my #32 meat your maker grinder, it works awesome!
Wait.... other people aren't just shoving everything in and going straight to a fine grind......
After all, such a thing makes no sense. When making sausage, I need to grind the beef twice on the smallest size. First there should be knives!! Grinding this way doesn't do anything. The same when I insert larger pieces to grind twice with a 5mm mesh.
For what purpose would I buy something like this?
This concept with the accompanying plates (inner plate and 2.5 mm final stage plate) help produce the standard hamburger grain size you'd find at the grocery store in one pass instead of two. The inner plate mimics a course grind pass and the final plate the fine grind pass. If your recipe calls for two passes through a fine plate you could remove the inner plate and do two passes with a fine plate and reserve the inner plate for recipes that don't. It can work as a single stage and dual stage grinder for the ultimate in end product control.
@@LEMProducts1 It was written by someone who has no idea about sausage production.
I have one of your meat grinders and I consider it a great product, but if I want to grind meat for hamburgers, I do not need this addition - (2.5 mm for hamburgers???) Pushing pieces of meat into the shredder before it is shredded by the rotary knives - I consider it a mistake and overload of the meat grinder engine.
Each meat grinder first has knives for initial cutting of the meat and then a plate.
@mrpapas73 you have good point, so blade should be before first grinder plate, ideally it should have 2 blades, one before larger plate and 2nd before finer plate
