This shows a very common mistake made when installing wheel adapters, that is when the studs on the car are longer than the adapter is thick the studs hit the back of the wheel and will work loose and break the studs off of the adapter when the wheel flies off the vehicle.

After watching this i instantly went and checked my spacers to make sure the studs wont sticking out and on to the wheel. Found out they did but its alright wheel has the groves inbetween the where studs go,that are deep enough to allow the wheel to sit flush on the spacers. At first i was like this sucks, but when puting the wheel on it seemed to seal perfect despite this, thats when i noticed the orginal studs are sitting in the groves of wheel hub inbetween the stud holes, that was a relief because they are just deep enough where the orginal studs are not touching the wheel at all.
that works fine, just have to be a flat smooth mating between the face of the adapter and the back of the wheel
The problem they don't tell you is your lug studs are longer than the adapter is thick so you have to cut the lug studs on any 5x135 unless they are 2" thick. Once you do that they ride great it's no different than putting aftermarket rims on a Chevy 4wd if you look none of them are hubcentric either they are made to fit Toyota and Nissan hubs also which are much larger. In the end you just have to have common sense when putting anything like this on or yes your gonna have problems.
You have given me faith in wheel adapters!
Im trying to put my 22s on and everyone is telling me horrible scarry stories to not use adapters after watching this video i now understand those people are idiots and didnt install properly thanks for help
You should include everything required for proper install
Good info here folks. Those that say :Well my wheel is on tight , but there is a very tiny gap on my 2 piece. I'll just torque it down tighter and that should do it, Right?" WRONG! WRONG!, AND WRONG!. Rotational forces and heavy load on the spacer with find any wiggle room possible and try to loosen up. If fitment isn't right, you want to risk injury and/or possible death?
Great vid!
D0 you give your customers instructions?..
can I run 1.25" spacers just in the fronts on a truck?
how.much is delivery to the UK?
I don't have studs on my Bmw. They have lug bolts that go in n it came with some chrome 18s when I bought it but I wanna put these 20s on n either have to get adapters or spacers which are the same thing I guess or send the rims to a machine shop to get the circumference of the hole in the center of the rim expanded. Anyway my question is can lug bolts be used on adapters/spacers!
Yes if they have a conical seat and are low profile enough to get below the surface of the adapter,
Ought mine from u and their dead on..... must check behind yourself and make sure u know what your doin .... had mine on for four months, 5.5 to 150mm it’s the same but Toyota Tundra 06 to tundra 2010 so they have five lugs I have six ..... works perfectly installed correctly
On the instructions that came with the wheel adapter did it state or show that that you need to grind down his studs ? Is it common did he know that you should grind down your start? On the instructions to do this did that people know that her need to replace his Lugnuts? Some people need to be held by the hand and a little help to install such a device! I like your video !
If the original wheel studs were sticking out past the adapters..wouldnt the wheel wobble funny or be out of alignment..since the wheel isnt flat against the spacer???
that's why you always buy hub centric adapters the weight goes on the hub not in the studs !!!
Biggest problem is those spacers aren't hub centric, but that guy didn't install right.
Yes
they probably had a center bore HUD an order the wrong ones
WOW if people are using wrong lug nuts and not seating them they probably shouldn't be using them or have somebody that knows what they are doing mount them!
Bought lol
those wheel adapters are not hub centric adapters, its not a question of if they'll fall off. its a question of when. all the wieght of the vehicle are sitting solely on the studs instead of the hud, spacer, and studs combined. i would never buy those.
Cole Phipps been running lug centric spacers for a long time on my 250 and have never had any issues. The wheel needs to be probably balanced. Recently had the lip b of a hub centric spacer break on me.
