    The Bible says we should rightly divide the word of truth. Now as it relates to 1 Corinthians 12 vs 13 it doesn't say if you are water baptised you have the Holy Spirit. This is one of the greatest deception of the devil because he knows it is required to go to heaven and so he lets people think they have it when they don't. You contribute to the deception, stop misleading yourself and others. Peter and the others had to wait for the promise of the Holy Spirit to be given, tarry in Jerusalem but somehow we have to just get baptised in water to get it. Cmon mn do better

      @ricardobramwell204 -
      You said, “Now as it relates to 1 Corinthians 12 vs 13 it doesn't say if you are water baptised you have the Holy Spirit.“ Well, he did not say that either. He said everyone who has been baptized in the name of Jesus; everyone who has placed their faith in Christ; all believers have the Holy Spirit according to 1 Cor 12:13. He specifically said he was not speaking of the water baptism and 1 Cor 12:13 does not speak of water baptism, but the Apostle Paul spoke of a common immersion all believers share in the Holy Spirit and in Jesus, a common baptism which brings them into one body. The Apostle Paul does not have in mind water baptism, but a Spirit baptism.
      Water baptism illustrates a believer’s identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. It is an act of obedience and although baptism is closely associated with salvation, it is not a requirement to be saved. Rom 10:9-13 gives the requirement for salvation and baptism is not mentioned.
      So going forward, quote someone correctly before charging them to contributing to misleading and deceiving people. It was a false charge. C’mon man! Do better.

    1. The Pastor seemed to be making a joke, hoping to highlight the importance of baptism in Jesus name (the only way it happened in the Bible). He definitely shouldn't have made a joke like that over the pulpit where people place a heightened value on the words that come out of your mouth.
    2. You're not doing a proper exegesis of the scripture if you think belief/faith is the same as being filled with the Holy Spirit. You cannot simply look at the Greek for one word and throw out the rest of scripture that proves the point you attempted to disprove (even though the pastor didn't make that argument).
    ‭Acts 19:2 KJV‬
    "He (Paul) said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost."
    These people Paul were interacting with were believers; they believed in Jesus and YET, there was still more that was required. This communicates, (along with every other scripture that ONLY has the disciples baptizing in Jesus name), that Peter and the disciples understood what Jesus said in Matthew 28:19. They heard it and CORRECTLY communicated the message on the Day of Pentecost, baptizing the CORRECT way (with signs following) in every instance afterward.

    • @mrsmorgann0000
      @mrsmorgann0000 Před měsícem +1

      @juanwilliams6106 - Requiring anything in addition to faith in Jesus Christ for salvation, e.g. baptism, is a works-based salvation. To add anything to the gospel is to say that Jesus’ death on the cross was not sufficient to purchase our salvation. To say that baptism is necessary for salvation is to say we must add our own good works and obedience to Christ’s death in order to make it sufficient for salvation. Jesus’ death alone paid for our sins. Jesus’ payment for our sins is appropriated to our “account” by faith alone. Jhn 3:16; Acts 16:31; Rom 5:8; 2 Cor 5:21; Eph 2:8:9
      So although baptism is an act of obedience after salvation and a public testimony to our identification to Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, it is not a requirement for salvation. Rom 10:9-13 gives the requirement for salvation and baptism is not listed.
      We need to be sure our thoughts are inline with the Word of God and not the other way around.

    I only attend traditional churches. Ones where they read the word, tell us what it means and move on. There is something about hundreds of years of tradition.
    Yes it can have its issue turning into "religious" but is that really a bad thing? I would rather have a classic, structured, old fashioned, reverent service then watch someone use the Bible to give a speech.

I want you to know that you are wrong in your explanation. NO, YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO IT IN THE ORDER IN WHICH PETER STATED, MANY RECEIVED THE HOLY SPIRIT BEFORE BAPTISM, BUT ALL THREE (REPENTENCE, BAPTISM, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT) ARE PART OF THE SALVATION EXPERIENCE. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS LOOK AT THE EXAMPLES IN THE BOOK OF ACTS AND ALL WHO CAME TO CHRIST REPENTED AND WERE BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS AND RECEIVED THE HOLY GHOST. I FIND IT FUNNY THAT WE PRAY IN THE NAME OF JESUS, AND CAST OUT DEMONS IN THE NAME OF JESUS, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO BAPTISM, WE DON'T NEED THE NAME, WHICH IS WRONG, (ACTS 4:12), "NEITHER IS THERE SALVATION IN ANY OTHER: FOR THERE IS NONE OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN GIVEN AMONG MEN, WHEREBY WE MUST BE SAVED." Oneness Doctrine did not even come into being until the early 1900's by one man's "revelation" it is a heresy. The word of God is of no private interpretation. Baptism is not essential to salvation, the blood alone is what cleanses and washes our sins away. Should we be baptized yes, but salvation does not hinge on water baptism. Oneness heresy denies the Godhead and contradicts the Gospel. John 3:16 alone refutes this doctrine. We must contend for the faith on the essential foundation of the Gospel and it begins with the Godhead/Trinity. I and my Father are one (unity). Unity denotes at least two. So to say God is manifesting in three forms destroys unity. Also if Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father, is he sitting next to himself? This doctrine confuses the truth and simplicity of the Gospel.

      You are 100 % correct. The Church is in trouble, but GOD Church is just fine. If there is one thing taught in a church that contradicts Scripture you should be able to ask someone in leadership on that issue. But churches are too busy forming “relationship ministries” that attempt to guilt parishioners when they question what's preached. The only relationship that should be formed in church is a relationship with GOD. Churches lean on men's tradition instead of GOD doctrine. It's ok to have standards in church but it's just a standard, not GOD law. For example, there shouldn't be women preachers, apostles, or any title given to women in GOD church. But we live in a society where these leaders are so lazy it's allowed. And Scripture speaks against this. It's only a matter of time before the standard of the church is minimized to a social club.
