Are Boat Gelcoat Cracks Unrepairable? - 1980 Mayland Fishing Boat

Now the windows have been removed, it's time to address the spider cracks in the gelcoat. In this episode I drill out, fill and primer the cracks and continue to prepare the boat for painting. We also have a look at the Suzuki DT9.9 outboard which came with the boat.

You should use acetone to clean everything down. It also refreshes the glass. Use topcoat with colloidal silica as a thickener to fill the star cracks after. Its a far better material than body filler. Also never paint grp if you dont have too, polish the old gelcoat up.
