You've done more than a Hyundai dealership would do lol. Great repair. Its great you help your customers especially ladies which dealerships would take them to the bank! Nice new air tool!
She took it to the dealer first . They wanted $5k (if I remember correctly)... I got it done parts and labor for about 1/4 the price of the dealer.
Nothing like replacing a fuel tank on your back! Nicely done Jonathan! 👍
Dealing with the drive shaft was the worst part of the job.... oh, and Dorman lol
Just found you on google. Good for you pursuing what you are knowledgeable at. Best to you. Be careful with those jacks. ( I’m 81 and get nervous seeing under the car work).
Floor Jack's can be scary if you're not careful. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment
The job went better than I expected. I thought the rust was going to put up a fight.
Oh it put up a fight, I just edited 2 hours of footage into just under a 40 min video . Nobody needs to see me curse or cry lol 🤣
Damn good job.
Thank you 💪 I've had worse job. I got lucky on this one lol
Glad you bought the exhaust pliers. I use mine maybe a dozen times a year and even if I used them half that much they would be worth it. I wonder what caused the split? The company I work for had a fleet of these and I ended up buying one for myself. I've changed a dozen transmissions and at least that many fuel pumps but I've never seen any of them split the seam of the tank. Water pumps and purge valves are another common issue in these.
I kinda miss mine, it was a good reliable SUV.
Oh, you can use a tailpipe expander to stretch hose end openings!
Great video. I bet you're dreading the up coming cold
During the cold I just want to hibernate! 🤣 I had a Hyundai tiburon for about 6 years, it was very reliable. I also miss that car. Definitely a weird way to split on the tank but the owner no longer has to worry about that. I told her next on the list should be a timing belt/ water pump job . If I remember correctly the car has around 130k miles and I believe it's still running on the original belt.
I have those Lisle exhaust hanger pliers. They work good. I've used them on 3 different cars & will be using them again this week.
I look forward to using them. I'm sure it'll be awesome lol
Johnathan.... the man busting nuts for a living😂
Gotta stay busy!! It ain't easy lol
You do great work man!
The victory was worth the struggle. Well done!
Definitely 💪
You removed that muffler in a sweet way, have you been busy stealing cats?😅🤣
Quick and efficient 🤣
Great job , So you're not a muffler guy 🤣🤣🤣. Have a good weekend 👍
Not a muffler guy....OUT COMES THE SAWZALL 🤣
Just FYI there is actually a factory program to cover those fuel tank leaks. You'll have to google the paperwork cause dealer won't have a clue but they will replace tank. Know issue.
I didn't know that. That's interesting
Nice job looks good .that exhaust pipe will rust in place in no time.
Ha! That's true lol
That swiveling air tool though!! 👌
I'd imagine it robs some power from the tool but the benefits outweigh the negatives.
Saw a guy who lubed the hose connection when using the pick to remove the hose.
That's not a bad idea 🤔 thanks!
Another fantastic video and a fantastic job well done can't wait till the next video cheers 👍👍👍
Thank you! I'm not sure what my next video will be ... I'll find out eventually lol
You are so knowledgeable and. Yet kind of young. Mind telling your followers a bit of ur mechanics background? (Wishing more young males would get in learning car repairing skills. Good livelihood;long term job if one wants to.
Drill some holes in the plastic for water to drain.
Not a bad idea
Need to get yourself an inductive heater for bolts
I have one and I was using it on this job 💪
Did you ever get the replacement hose ?
Yes, I found a fuel hose on Amazon that matched the measured specs and I just cut it to length
i can not find the color codes for the connector at "13:11" the pins pulled out when dropping the tank. could anyone help please?
I'm changing the tank myself but I'm stuck at the axle. The socket wrench doesn't go on straight and I'm scared of stripping the heads. Was your socket at an angle, also?
Try to get it in as deep as I can even if you have to scrape rust out with a pick. Yes mine wasn't straight. I remember it being at a slight angle and hoping it does strip out
Where is the pressure sensor located on this tank?
For this car I think it's on top of the charcoal canister
How many hours of labor will this job cost me?
I honestly don't know. I charged a flate rate of $650 if I remember correctly
Any CRX updates ?
No, I've been busy with fixing cars. Not much time to mess with the crx . Plus it's getting cold. Not really in the mood to be in a cold Garage if I don't have to be out there.
fuel pump to be taken out from the back seat you don't need to drop the tank
Did you watch the video ?
The rust belt sucks
It sure does
You dident specify as to why it wouldant start and what you did to make it work! 🤬😂
I'm not sure I understand. This car didn't have a issue starting
gosh you guys have rusty cars
Yeah it's not fun , it sucks
