Use a brass chisel when striking on the ring. Brass won't spark. Also the fuel tank strap on that side can be loosened enough to lower that corner on the tank and it puts the opening in the right position so the assembly can come right out.

  • @agentorangephotography216c4

Thank you very much for the video. And let it be known a chisel with a slight angle at the tip helps the most. flat-head screwdrivers are agony lol

Is it okay to replace just the pump or the whole assemply? What fuel pump brands you recommend? I saw some cheap Chinese pumps on Amazon at priced at less than $80 but they may not last for long. Quality pumps may cost over $500!

Hello, I now have a hyndai sonata hybrid 2014 car and now I have a problem, it knocks out two errors P1B77 and P0A0D, the car has a hit and then another hit and the hybrid error is displayed and asks to stop. If you turn it off and wait 7-10 minutes, then you can go further, but after 1-2 km the same story happens. Did you have the same problem and how did you solve it?

Do you think it would be easier to replace the pump by dropping the fuel tank? Also, is there any trick with the fuel float when you install the new pump? The dealership mentioned something about not letting it hang too much.

I have a 2012 sonata that had a bad fuel sending unit that I replaced. Got it all back together just as it had been when I took it out, but now the fuel gauge is stuck on full, it looks like the estimated miles left on the tank is reading correctly though. Any thoughts on what it could be? Is there some sort of “reset” that needs to be performed to sync the gauge reading accurately if you only replaced the sending unit?

It's not hard he just did it the hard way, it's easier with a longer prey bar for leverage and just twist unit it pops off, move around the fuel pump until it comes our have a tub ready because it will still have fuel in it, kia fortes are easier then this car, took me about 20 min and 100 bucks for a new pump on a kia forte 2014 lx, car runs alot better with more accurate range.

The longer I own my Sonata, the more I realize how poorly Hyundai engineers designed this car. This fuel replacement took almost 5 hours because the under side hose would not come off. Finally got it, and then found the access
hole for this is not properly aligned so you can remove the pump easily. Instead I ended up bending the sheet metal to make room for it. Worked perfectly lol. Hyundai sucks, never another.
