John Kordic, Quebec Nordiques (1991)

October 1991 - After only playing a handful of games with the Leafs and Capitals the previous season, John Kordic is optimistic about the future after signing as a free agent with the Quebec Nordiques
Kordic talks about his battle with alcoholism: ''It's a lot more fun coming to play the game without a hangover.'' He doesn't miss all the troubles that came with substance abuse: ''I'm not scared to go home, I'm not scared to answer the telephone... you don't know what you did the night before... maybe you got into a fight at a bar or you got into a car accident... I don't want that trouble anymore... hanging around with the wrong people, drinking at bars all day... it's just a part of my life I don't want to go through again.''
