  • A simple way to increase the power and performance of your Silverado 1500 is by installing a Rough Country Cold Air Intake. By replacing your Silverado's restrictive stock factory intake with a high flow filter assembly you will see and feel a noticeable increase in rear wheel horsepower and torque. This Rough Country Intake not only improves airflow for an increase in power, but it will also add a rugged appearance to your engine bay with its black finished intake tube.
No Tune Required. Rough Country engineered their Cold Air Intake to improve the performance of your Silverado without the need of reprogramming your computer. By utilizing flow dynamics, this Intake will increase power using the original factory tune. Even though a re-tune is not required for operation, AmericanTrucks recommends a custom tune to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) to get the best possible performance from this Cold Air Intake.
Reusable Air Filter. The included high flow air filter effectively filters out power robbing particles with its multi layer design. The specially treated media creates a sticky surface to capture microscopic contaminants before they can enter your Silverado's engine and do harm. Seeing that the filter is reusable there is no need to buy a new filter every few thousand miles. You can just clean the filter, re-oil it, and reinstall - saving yourself money in the long haul. amtrucks.at/3zyPF3B

Installed the Rough Country this evening. I noticed a difference right away. Throttle is now snappy and responsive. The truck finally has decent bottom end pulling really nice 0-60mph. So to be honest I’ve installed superchips flashpaqs not much changed and a carveen TR exhaust big change now the RC cold air intake big change again. My truck 2015 Silverado has 226000 on it and it’s like having a new truck. Total price for all was about $550. Well worth it in my book. RC fit and finish 3.5 stars RC performance so far 4.5 stars. Just my opinion and experience so far.

Other upgrades superchips flash paqs 87 octane tune little change. Carveen TR exhaust big noticeable change. RC cold air intake big noticeable change. Total investment $550 all upgrades. When rotating the bar @ 4:30 just remove the exposed bolt (which you loosened) on the side instead of the one hidden under the cowling. A few extra unnecessary steps could be skipped there doing it this way.

@@markandreasen3157 I went with the Spectre SPE 90060k for $375 CAD before taxes on Amazon. It has similar reviews/complaints as the RC intake but I didnt experience any of the parts coming loose and what not. As for performance, I felt the pedal response get better from stock, snappier and felt "instant". You def feel the powerband increase from 0 - 4k RPM's but no performance gains after that. Sound is deep and throaty, pairs well with my Flowmaster super 40 dumped before the axle. Imo, I dont think I'd see any difference if I went with K&N or Airaid.

Honestly from being around cars and moding them since the 90's there really isn't a difference other than your paying for the names. The biggest thing to remember here and this is very IMPORTANT a pipe, hoses, clamps, and a filter can NOT and will NOT "ADD" horsepower. All a intake mode does is free up whatever hp is choked out by the stock intake. Once again it's not adding any only freeing up what is "trapped" or held in check by our American (assuming you're in America) emissions regulations. So in all honesty I'd say for about 90%-95% of people doing a intake mode on a vehicle it doesn't matter if it's $20 or $1000 they will and all do about the same.

    • @LoCon.MCS13

No gains, just looks better and sounds better. Less filtration then factory… factory IS A COLD AIR… this is not a true cold air. That upper seals doesn’t 100% seal to the hood. Factory airbox is more of a true cold air intake with closed box. Make your choice…

For 90-95% of people doing this all you're buying is a name. A pipe and different filter can not and will not EVER add any horsepower. But keep on believing your $3000 pipe and filter is now giving you 100 more hp.
