    I have KiA optima GT 2016 in Australian. Have driven 150,000km on it, only regular service and it's still run like a new. No oil consumption, no rough idle.

    You need valve clearance adjustment or possibly replacement. Have them inspected. It's overdue, 60,000 miles should have been inspected as maintenance requirement. Your valves are being ruined and effects other parts of your car. Never idle over 3 minutes, all GDI suffer from idling. Long lines at a drive thru are killer over the year's. To regain MPG and performance drive at least one hour highway speeds with no traffic, 55 mph where allowed. Doing all this brought my 2.4 L Optima FE back to new life. Let me know how it goes. Even with top tier gas, I use Chevron Techron Complete Fuel System as instructed by my dealer every 3,000 miles, 10 oz. 5 dollars at Walmart online and some in store locations.

    I truly wish I had seen this before buying one yesterday. The check engine light came on on my way home and now they're keeping it over the weekend while they wait for a part to fix it. 🙃 I have no warranties that I know of so I'm praying for the best and reading up on the lemon law

    I disagree, I believe if you are a car owner it would make sense to check your engine oil on every fill up. That way you can check if their is a problem with any problems with your engine, like leaking gaskets oil control problems etc etc. Maybe that's why you don't want to take it on long drives, makes a lot of sense.

    Don't feel bad my 2020 started doing it at 55,000 I'm now at 80,000 and no CEL yet lol. As far as your burning oil change the pcv valve or tell the dealer to it's a $5 part. I'm fairly convinced the problem with the shaking at 2k and intermittent misfires are coming from slack in the timing chain from wear overtime.

    107k miles. I have high idle, it won't idle down below 1200 rpms thinking it's vvt relay or something

    I have a 2016 optima fe, had the same issues with burning oil, had the engine replaced twice. First engine went out at 108k miles and second was 102k miles.

      How many miles on those engines were driven by you?

    • @shawnmaughon
      @shawnmaughon Před 2 lety

      @@HernanHH95 I bought the car used at 68k so a little over 30k on the first engine. The second engine has 70K on it so another 30k. I kept up on the oil changes. Both started burning oil around 95k which I had to regularly put oil in the engine between oil changes.

    Have the dealership clean the valves and valve stems. Big reason why you might be burning oil. Common problem with gdi engines
