My 1997 C5 Convertible is still performing like new and looks the part. Sure the C8 Stingray / Z06 makes C5 Corvettes look basic in comparison, but she is mine and has been loyal for 25 years. What a beautiful car... aging gracefully... like me! 😃

I’ve owned 8 Corvettes, every generation except a Gen 1 and Gen 6, I still own 4 of them, and I still think the best performance for value out there is the C5 Z05.

My 1999 has had every single thing go wrong with it at 45-60,000 miles. These cars suck ass with age. I’ve spent probably 4 grand on stuff that doesn’t break or bad on any single other car and thats work I had to do myself. Harmonic balancer wobble? No other cars this happens to just c5 vette. Just replaced mine for $800. Etc etc etc. I babied it and only has 62k on it and it breaks down bi- monthly still. Pull key wait 10 seconds bs. Steering column locks up and that’s after the recall and lmc5 kit installed. Last month my radiator and water pump went within 3 weeks of each other at 58,000 miles. Yet my jeep with 240,000 miles has original water pump radiator harmonic balancer etc etc. ..good looking car, but it’s put together like cheap plastic. My transmission cable snapped 2x within 10,000 miles of being replaced. Heads up display broke. Tach quit working.. oil pressure unit quit working both power windows went bad. List goes on.
