Just bought a C5. Must see video for new owners !
I am very surprised at the lack of pocket protectors in this video. The yaw-rate info was exhilarating.
I took delivery of my 98 C5 Z-51 in January 98. I guess it's about time to view this tutorial.
I just hit play! I sold my C4 and bought a C5...red with black rims....tan and black interior....6 speed. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CAR!!!! It's amazing!!! Watching NOW!
What C4 did you have?

World class, world class, world class!!!!!
It’s the turboencabulator guy!!!
I needed this video!!!!!
I just picked up a 2000 C5 Hard Top. This video has been very helpful!. Thanks for posting it!

Great job and a lot of good ideas thanks
This video might have inspired the Adobe commercial on Saturday Night Live.
I am glad I dont have RTD suspension stay away from that one boys and girls if you can.$350+ per shock as much as almost $600 there are ways of getting around this but not as simple as just putting new shocks on.
I have a 2001 convertible with heads up display 🤔
I have a belly button
All the people that complain about the C5's interior are people that drive Honda Civic's and will NEVER own a Corvette.
Anyone else use this video to fall asleep?
Mike Kraft,
The turbo encabulator guy.
I didn't realize just how much the C5 Corvette looks like a Firebird.
because it doesn't
@@stereolababy It does too
@@explorer909 like having 2 doors and 4 wheels?
Driving the DIC!!!!! OH MY!!!!
Is the C5 the worlds best sports car..proven over the years?
They're great but not for the long term. They are frot with electrical and mechanical issues that show their ugly face when you get above 70k miles on them.
The C5 took a lot of stying cues from the 3rd gen RX7. It still looks fairly contemporary and was the last attractive vette. The C8 is a monstrosity.
I love every Vette generation, especially the C5 and the C7.
But, like you, I simply do not like the look of the C8.
The interior of the C8 is beautiful, but that chiseled up exterior on the C8 is just downright ugly.
I can't stand everything about the C8. Camaro taillights, ridiculously oversized side air scoops. Short pointy noise/frunk. (Look at the Testarossa mid engine but with a nice long frunk) and the worst of all. MID ENGINE. I don't want a front engine Ford GT. I don't want a rear engine Miata. I don't want a V8 911. I DON'T WANT A MID ENGINE CORVETTE!

💯
Those 3 way shocks are fake not notice any difference between the 3 settings on very low milage car
No mention of New Balance shoes?
Do you recommend me buying a 1999 red Corvette with a black top. It’s almost in pristine condition. The other option is a 1998 grey Corvette with the basic ugly rims but it has a glass top which is cool. Not sure if I should go convertible which I always wanted to glass top?
Like all vehicles, the C5 has its problems. My 2002 was poorly built and required major repairs at every oil change (i.e. it was expensive to own). Plus the targa top (the glass top) leaked when it rained, despite replacing it. The C5 is also poorly insulated so you hear a lot of the road and wind as you drive. Regardless of which C5 you get, it is a fair weather vehicle; if you drive in the rain, in addition to getting wet, the C5's computer will also get wet (due to where it's located) and will cause lots of expensive problems--this design flaw has required more than a handle of tows to the dealership for repairs. With that said, I would go for the convertible but either way, the C5 needs to be kept in a garage or under a carport and only driven when it is nice outside.
go with the convertible, definitely!
Buy an 03 or 04 instead.
This is late. The 98 corvette has the undesirable LS1 block. The 99 and higher has the desired LS1 block.
Couple problems with this video...the cars shown in this video are not 2002 models, they are 1999 or older...secondly, the 2002 Corvette produced 365 ft lbs of torque for the automatic, and 375 ft lbs for the manual...both produced 350 hp...
This is the video that came with my 2002 Vette when I ordered it from the factory and the VHS case it came in said 2002 Corvette, so...
Check your facts
I did not make this video Jesse! This is what came with my 2002 when I ordered it from the factory and here's the official 2002 C5 brochure to back it up: www.auto-brochures.com/makes/Chevrolet/Corvette/Chevrolet_US%20Corvette_2002.pdf
Philip Neitz I was replying to the guys reply at the top I dont think the corvette had 375ft lbs of torque for the manual corvette
My bad
'GAGES'
i never understood why the c5 had a manual convertible
Weight reduction.
the memory never worked,iv talked to c6 and c7 guys who also say memory doesn't work on the new ones ether XD
