@darcygreen6498~~I absolutely love her~~Back in the day and now~~If you think she sounds good here, you shoulld have seen her in concert~~Amazing voice~~Linda, Kelly Clarkson, Pink and Adele have been my faves 4 ever~~No one can come close to Linda's beautiful voice~~I pray for her all the time~~Breaks my heart what she's going through~~I'm so glad I got to see her in concert in the early 80's~~She was awesome~~Happy New Year~~💖💖💖
My all-time fave song. Just met her backstage in Delaware. She was there to talk about living with Parkinson's and her life. Spent about 15 minutes with her. A 40 yr quest! !! I was a wreck! She was soooo..sweet and humble. Still can't believe I met her ! The greatest voice ever!
So Versatile the Music Gere from Country Opera Spanish Classics So FREAKIN TALENTED AND NO DIVA BY ANY MEANS I WOULD GIVE HER A HUMANITARIAN AWARD LIKE A DARN NOBLE PEACE PRIZE --- A REAL LIVE AUTHENTIC ANGEL❤😂🎉
*This song is actually a Karla Bonoff song!! Karla both wrote and performed it, but Linda got the credit for all of it when she decided to sing it!! Karla also wrote All My Life that Linda sang with Aaron Neville.*
Not a huge airplay hit for Linda, but still one of her absolute best recordings! Her voice is absolutely haunting on this beautiful song! Sends chills through me!
So many great elements here. The lovely Linda's passionate voice..the Karla bonoff lyrics and key melodies..Waddy Wachtel laying it down on guitar. I am in heaven.
I would imagine a piano bar, this song, smoke, sirens haunting lyrics. Few people, large strong drink going. Her eyes meet no one's. If it did, the sadness will live with someone beside you.
@@pedestrianrights1257 Listen to a whole lot more singing, and then decide. For me? Whitney Houston forced/pressed/yelled a whole lot. If that's what you like and interpret it differently, then... YAY.
I do love Linda Ronstadt - for all the best and most righteous reasons. Yeah, I confess that I have always recognized her physical attraction (it's a whole aura/being/physical/etc. reality... let's face it, she's desirable). But hey... Linda was/is one of the great musicians of our lives. Thank you Linda.
@FBobroff~~I know, right~~I feel the same way~~Some of her songs puts tears in my eyes~~Beautiful voice~~No one comes close~~I know good music and great artists~~I know~~I'm 66 years old and Has always been my fave~~Love and Adore her~~Please pray for her~~💖💖💖
Love Linda’s cover of this Karla Bonoff song, Linda’s Hasten Down The Wind album lead me to Karla, who my husband and I love. We saw Karla at a small club I the late 80’s. Have seen Linda many times. I am so sad she can’t sing anymore because of Parkinson Disease. My brother was just diagnosed with early stage Parkinson’s, he & his wife visited us last month and he is slower, but he has lived such a healthy lifestyle, he has never smoked or drank, he ran marathons up until this last year, but he and his wife walk 5 miles a day, still. I am cycling on my stationery bike watching this.
Linda opened with this at the Fox Theater in Atlanta back in the late '70's ~ what was so amazing was...she RARELY opened with this song. Plus, the acoustics at the Fox are unbelievably GOOD...:))) Folks were falling outta their chairs...Such a great song :-)
I saw Linda many times during the seventies. She was always absolutely awesome, with such a sweet and beautiful voice. Not many like her, maybe Sarah McLachlan is close.
I remember 20 yrs. ago driving down I-15 & this song captivated me. I could never find the album. goes straight to my heart so grateful for those who share.
I got to see Linda at Day on the Green at the Oakland Coliseum in the late 70's or early 80's. I will never forget the power, yet softness, in her voice when she sang Blue Bayou. Absolutely stunning, although Lay Down Beside Me is my hands down favorite Linda song, with Long Long Time right behind it. Her voice is heavenly ❤❤❤
Someone to lay down beside me aside from being hauntingly beautiful is also a woman singing about her despair. Linda is showing her heartache wanting a man to love her and realizing she will not be loved. A one-night stand with a stranger. What is more desperate? She captures the vacancy of the man next to her the next morning.
Happy birthday sweet 🎂 Linda your for ever ❤️ 💗 💖 💓 💕 ♥️ absolutely 💯 marvelous ❤️ ✨️ and 😍 ❤️ your 👀 completely simply marvelous ❤️ and beautiful SWEET LINDA ❤
Bonoff wrote this powerful song. And she has always performed it effectively. But Ronstadt at her best had the better voice. Larger, richer, with a bigger and broader dynamic range.
If this was the Atlanta concert at the Fox, I was there. Amazing concert. Linda was going thru a “stage fright” stage, where she was afraid of seeing the audience. It was dark. Really dark. Only a spotlight on her, and occasionally on Waddy.
Early on, Linda was considered to be a "Country" singer. But not a "twang" was heard :-). If most "Country" was like that then or now, I'd be a fan....
Linda had the best voice of rock and country music.
Boy, do I miss music like this. I never thought I would be the type to say, "The music was better when I was a kid," but here is proof.

She owns every song she sings. Her notes embody the music and make you understand!
*This song is actually a Karla Bonoff song!! Karla both wrote and performed it, but Linda got the credit for all of it when she decided to sing it!! Karla also wrote All My Life that Linda sang with Aaron Neville.*
The BEST that we have !
Not a huge airplay hit for Linda, but still one of her absolute best recordings! Her voice is absolutely haunting on this beautiful song! Sends chills through me!

Karla Bonoff is one of the greatest singer songwriters Weber to live 💝💝💝💝💝
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VOICE IN THE WORLD ‼🥰🥰🥰🥰
So many great elements here.
The lovely Linda's passionate voice..the Karla bonoff lyrics and key melodies..Waddy Wachtel laying it down on guitar.
I am in heaven.
My god what voice control she had for such a strong voice
Queen of Country Rock 😍🥰
And that, folks, is how it's done.
I would imagine a piano bar, this song, smoke, sirens haunting lyrics. Few people, large strong drink going. Her eyes meet no one's. If it did, the sadness will live with someone beside you.
National Treasure, many times over. What a voice! Thank you Linda! Go with God in eternity. ✌❤🖖 G
This is way better than her studio version(which was pretty damn good.) A truly great song that deserves to be remembered 46 years later.
Linda, no one can every compare to you. You are the greatest ever. ❤
What about Whitney Houston?
@@pedestrianrights1257 Listen to a whole lot more singing, and then decide.

Waddy, is awesome along with Linda’s vocals

Just Linda and a piano. No auto tune either. That is her singing, raw talent. You were right, things have changed, and not for the better.
She is a gift

My favourite song from. her
" Hasten Down the Wind" is the album.
Absolutely brilliant............ as good as it gets. She really is beautiful!
Are you forgetting Waddy Wachtel?!😮
I miss the way it used to be
One of my favorites too, and didn't get the attention it deserved. Liked Karla's too.
The best, period.

Don Grolnick, the pianist, is (I believe) responsbile for this powerful arrangement. Pure genius. He was taken from us too soon.
I didn’t know that was Don Grolnick playing. Yes, he was a fantastic pianist. And yes, he left too soon. RIP DG. ❤
It is Don Grolnick. Awesome pianist and arranger and over all musician. She always worked with the BEST! Waddy Wachtel included.
Yeah, true.
OK LOVE HER. ☺❤
Just great. ~
Her. Voice. Is. So. Strong❤😂🎉🎉😢😢
Hasten down the wind. My all time favorite album
