The great Gears of War piece was a CG from Blur Studio, using in-game assets from UE5.
Game info: Gears of War: E-Day is the next mainline game in the Gears of War universe, set during the pivotal Emergence Day. Fourteen years before Gears of War, war heroes Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago return home to face a new nightmare: the Locust Horde. These subterranean monsters, grotesque and relentless, erupt from below, laying siege on humanity itself.

E-Day has always been something that's fascinated me since I've played to first game and now almost 20 years on we get to play through those events. The Reach comparison isn't far off as fans were hooked on the Fall of Reach novel.

Halo and Gears of War are the two big exclusives most people know about.
Judgement had that brutal Karn as main boss, the horror he led alongside Raam was just unthinkable for the Gears. Pendulum War ended just the day before this event. Let's not also forget that Anya was in the control room that pushed the button of the Hammer of Dawn, that's going to be sad to see.

Should see some Tai. In the lore he was in Marcus squad like a year after E-Day and I believe he was the reason the Chainsaw was implemented into the guns. Also Padrick was in the squad

Tai will almost certainly be there, Marcus, Dom, and Tai were serving together a long time which is why his fate in Gears of War 2 shocked them.
If they make it true to the lore we won’t see Kim but tai for sure
If anyone is wondering, we have seen a little of the emergence day in Tactics and Judgement. With the use of the Hammer of Dawn. But this, is the exact moment the invasion happens, it's beautiful. Note: The lancer with the chainsaw won't exist here, that's why we see the retro. The chainsaw lancer wasn't invented yet.
Yeah the hide of locust was too hard to get through so chainsaw lancer was introduced later.

@@Evilakuuuuu If not, it's probably still a default loadout weapon in multiplayer and horde mode because there can't be a Gears of War game without a Lancer Mk. II.

Adam Fenix saw a video of Tai Kaliso's last ditch effort by killing Locust with a Chainsaw when his Bayonet broke and had only gardening tools nearby to fight back after running out of ammo.
The weapon was engineered to fix that issue but the COG found out that if you try to use a Lancer against a Locust there's a small chance the bone fragments will high-speed launch into the user like shrapnel even while using Osmium armor due to the speed of the fragments.
The weapon was launched but the COG officially advised to use it only to clear a path like rundown houses or to break doors and to not use it against Locust because of the aforementioned issues.
The majority of the Gears didn't give a fuck and used it like that or both situations if they could considering not doing so was just as equally lethal if a Locust gets a grip on you first.
Casualties from bone fragmentation are an unknown statistic, current Lancer models are much safer and people can use them with casual clothes and rarely get hurt from any sort of shrapnel or never at all because of a few redesigns made by Marcus Fenix and then refined by Daemon Baird to make the Lancer much safer, including a fix to the Bayonet's design so the user can rev it at any time even while reloading, previous models actually had a connected barrel-chainsaw system that disabled the chainsaw if you expelled the cartridge by moving the bayonet forward and then moving it back into functional position (connect with the motor) to prevent accidental rev ups and thus lose of fingers/limbs but it came as inconvenient in-battle because it meant having to ensure the cartridge regardless of it having ammor left or not didn't dislodge or else the Lancer's bayonet was as good as a regular saw and less useful than a Mark 1 Lancer Bayonet. In-game through the games that predated Gears 4 and 5 we never experience this issue for the sake of balance and convenience.
Xbox said in the news article the game will cover the creation of the mk2 lancer (chainsaw)
The use of Mad World pulled on my heartstrings, seeing Dom again released the floodgates.

From the beginning we know the end, a lot of characters are going to die in this game, E-Day was a true horror show that even messed up hardened vets of the Pendulum war.
This game will show how terrifying the locusts were when it began, no one could effectively fight them the first year.
@@offworlder1 E-Day was genocide, wholesale slaughter of the human race, by an enemy from your darkest nightmares. And just a few weeks after the end of the Pendulum wars, an 80ish years of global war...

I am 51 years of age and this is the first time in my life i have shed a tear over a video game trailer . It brought me back to a time when i had my xbox 360 and saw the mad world commercial of gears of war and downloaded the video on my 360 from xbox live trailer

Marcus getting toss around and struggling against a standard Locust drone.
We are so used to seeing him demolish drones with ease.
It hammers home how deadly and different an enemy the locusts are then the UIR.
A lot if vets from the Pendulum War were completely outclassed, and these were people who were fresh off a war ending, no one had lost their edge yet.
This was Marcus very first 1 on 1 encounter with a drone, he’s literally 21 years old here. No surprise he struggled!

Hope we get to see Tai in this. Canonically, he’s the one that first used a chainsaw to kill a drone when his bayonet broke. That’s where the idea for a chainsaw bayonet came from.

@@miguelcribillero3536 Reading them in order of publication date is how to do it. Start with Aspho Fields and go from there if you like them. I’d consider them GoW canon, but I’m not sure if that’s an official stance (if there is one).
I hope Marcus, Dom, Tai, and Pad are the main squad in this game.
Maybe we can get side chapters with Baird and Cole too.
We could see what they were up to in Halvo bay when Baird launched the missile to kill General Karn possibly.

@@crabLT But in the interview that dropped right after the reveal, it was hinted that we may still get the mk2 lancer in the campaign. Which means that the whole game probably won’t happen during the very first day alone. I know it wouldn’t make sense to detour to halvo bay but I just thought it’d be cool

This... this was the only way they could have got me back into Gears of War.. and damn, it looks spectacular.
Even though we have not gotten to seen the Pendulum Wars (other than from the novels and comics) Emergency Day is the event of the Gears of War Universe we haven’t fully explored.
And this is what I have been waiting to see since the first Gears of War game came out in 2006. What an impact this reveal trailer this is! 🔥 🔥🤩🤯
It's a shame the Pendulum Wars only got a fraction of it in the beginning of Gears of War 4, but I'm pretty sure we will eventually have a full game with it too.

I am really glad to see my boy Dom back. But at the same time unprepared of what Gears of War: E-Day has in stored for us. From what I recalled, Dom and Maria lost their children on Emergency Day which led up to his wife fell in despair and leave Jacinto. The rest we know what happens in Gears 1 & 2.
Well shoot, I better get a box of tissues and brace myself for when I play the story. Edit: I played through the main five games and read some of the books. It will be both fun, exciting and gut wrenching all at the same time, great story. 😀😢
@@pandawok301 If you played the fifth Gears of War game, then you why saving JD and Del’s death should be canon in Gears 6 for many reasons.
We probably won't see Baird and Cole since they don't meet until the first game 14 years after E-Day, which is a bit of a bummer, but I can live with it
Brother, I had the same reaction in 3. Tears and all, of all the stories told in movies, or books or anything... Gears is the one that latched on to my heart. Dom's moment in 3 was devastating, and along with it the moment he reached down to save Marcus in the E-Day trailer, the blade on his chest, finally the full face... oh man. It was hard not to be emotional with the Mad World running behind it. Holy smokes, I'm pumped

Your reaction was the same as mine. It's one thing to show me a young Dom, but as soon as that piano hit, I was transported back in time. I think Dom's death might be one of the few times everyone in the room went speechless. Even my Dad couldn't believe how emotional he got over it.

Yeah, that "Mad World" piano riff hit me in the feels too. Brought back a flood of memories from the original games, especially the sad moments with Dom. He and Marcus were best friends so it will be interesting to see how they started out together. Super looking forward to it.

I found your channel through this video... I've been a Gears player since the first, in 2006. I have been DREAMING about this ever since. An E-DAY game!? I never though it would happen! I never even had it on my BINGO card of 'possible games'! I legit cried seeing Dom. I'll fully admit to crying my fucking heart out when I played Gears 3 for the first time, when Dom sacrificed himself. I grew up on these games. Seeing that we're going to visit the day that changed EVERYTHING... the day that Niles Samson's horrendous deeds finally made themselves known... Oh man. The lore hound in me is ready.

This reveal was everything for me. I thought I wanted a collection or maybe Gears6 but hell no we got this instead and I'm so fucking excited!

It's like the *Halo: Reach* of Gears of War.
Even sadder imo, since E-day is only the beginning of what would be 17 years of further war and suffering, whereas the fall of reach is only a couple of years before the 30 year long human covenant war ends

Im going to be honest though, I haven't really been watching your videos since you stopped doing Kingdom Hearts (favorite series btw). Listening to Mad World music again was hard, ngl. Same way as Halo Reach told the origin of Halo 1, now we have this game. The Lancer Retro being changed to the one with the chainsaw was also a huge improvement. Oh man, this is going to be great.

I feel like a remastered collection is definitely gonna come sooner rather than later.
It's very likely that GoW: E-Day may be a testing of the waters. Showing people what the Marcus Fenix collection might look like upon release and how well it might be received based on how well E-Day is received. People had a similar reaction with the most recent Metroid game I believe.

I just love how Gears 1 takes place 14 years after E-Day. It will be 14 years since Gears 3 when this releases. Let's move Delta, we've got work to do.
