@@jeanmcleod940 no he isnt alive the drop pod that hit him in the stand off against the DB industries bots did in fact kill him as oscar says "no carmine" and we never see him again not the cutscene after or in 5. some of the other outsiders in the camp wore blue. so you might have mistaken one wearing blue in the next cutscene after the stand off to be gary carmine but unfortunately it isnt.
I love how they decided his fate before the game released. There were two shirts in the Xbox Avatar store. One that said "Carmine Must Live" and one that said "Carmine Must Die" depending on which one sold more would decide his fate.
I love how you can see how much Dom meant to Baird and Cole since their personalities completely change after hearing the news. Cole, usually a cheerful, energetic guy, is genuinely filled with vengeful rage. Baird, the sarcastic asshole that never shuts up, completely shuts down and doesn't know what to say.
Also, I noticed how Marcus's reaction to his father's death is the exact same body language Dom had when he saw Maria in 2; falling to his knees and looking back at his friends, not knowing what to do.
The Carmine reveal sends so many chills down my back, love how the music matches it perfectly. Gears is such a great franchise, Marcus’s story is beautiful.

Honestly, the other games are pretty good. Gears of War: Judgement follows Baird and Cole earlier in the war. Gears of 4 picks up _decades_ later and starts to explore the unanswered questions, and Gears 5 delves deep into the world's secrets.
dont forget gears judgement has 2 campaigns the judgment side and gears 3 side

@@eduardoibarra8853 yeah the UE3 assets alone without dual-graphics like CEA or H2A across 3 games, actually mastered for 4k textures would take up a lotta space, unless they can be optimized for DirectStorage by Series X/S optimization..
Honestly I wish they would make a patch for Gears Ultimate Edition for 4k assets on Xbox One X forward, and optimize it on PC cuz that DirectX 12 utilization is really shitty.

I think it's the survivor's guilt that Marcus feels, and maybe the burden of responsibility still weighs heavy on him because he was the squad leader of Delta team so he feels responsible for Dom' sacrifice.
I don't think he realizes the knife Marcus uses to kill her was given to him by Dom earlier in the game.

The ending of gears 3 is so sad but it’s a good ending.
The ending to this game was a masterpiece. No other words can describe it.
I think you're gonna love gears 4 and 5 man,personally gears is my favourite game/saga,but if you really know the backstory of the game and the gears universe,trust me,a fourth game was needed,they're gonna answer to a lot of question that the trilogy left in 4 and 5
Btw you're gonna have an absolutely blast with Raam's shadow and Judgment too(Judgment was bad only for multiplayer)The story was really good imo
Honestly I felt the opposite Gears 4 felt like they where just forcing the story on for the sake of just making more Gears games. Not saying they didn't do the series justice, it feels like a Gears game, but story wise it felt like fan fic really. At least with the Locust part. Also some of the characters where pretty weak which is a problem with such a limited cast.

Remember, the prescot information, his death, dom sacrifice, marcus father death and the end of the queen was in 3 days, marcus team got all of that, in 3 or 2 days after somany years after E-Day
By the time Gears 5 playthrough happens, it’ll be optimized for Series X, (Big “Optimized for Series X” Badge and all)
Marcus killed the queen with Dom’s knife which technically means that Dom killed her, not Marcus.

and gears 3 also did a great job of showing how depressing and miserable the world had become after the pendulum wars and then the locust war everyone even the coalition of ordered governments (COG) were left in complete tatters there was almost nothing left on the planet billions died whole continents left barren friends families homes and all things everyone held dear were torn apart it truly was an AMAZING game

Make sure to give the Gears Judgement: Aftermath campaign a try. You get to see what Cole and Baird where up to during their time away from Marcus in Gears 3.
To be honest, I know it gets a bad rap but I quite liked Gears Judgement, the campaigns anyway.

marcus got his scar while he was in the slab, a guard there didnt like him and was attacking him and always burning the lettera anya would send him, one day marcus and his “friend” were walking through the cell blocks when the guard cut them off with the gates leaving just marcus trapped with dogs and he had to fight and kill all the dogs but one of them got his face and ripped a good chunk almost off, he was able to escape and get medical treatment
When I was a wee lad I remember hearing hammer of dom (gow3 was first I played) and I got so sad when we uses it

Here is some context for Judgement and Raam's Shadow
Judgment is a Prequel and it focuses on Baird's and Cole's squad before the events of Gears 1. It lightly talks about the UIR vs COG war before the Locust showed up.
Raam's shadow is also a Prequel of Gears 1 and it talks about Jace's previous squad, along with some multiplayer characters. It gives the power of what Raam is capable of, something that wasn't fully shown in Gears 1.

Even though the Carmines were a bit of a gears twist on the Red Shirts from Star Trek, Epic Games determined Clayton's fate by actually asking/polling the fans if the new Carmine (Clayton) should live or die in Gears 3!

If you play judgement be sure you go to the gears symbols you find in between areas if you get 400 stars which you get from them in challenges from the gears symbols do them all and get to at least 300 stars you gain access to a another campaign but that ties in another point of view of gears 3

I was crying watching Adam die and had someone walk in on me. 😆 Awesome video Dee, the nostalgia it gives me. I remember the hype, the beta, and all the tears and love for the game when it was coming out. Great times. I also was shocked when I heard about Gears 4 coming out because with an ending like Gears 3 I too had no clue how Gears 4 would continue from that.

Make sure Gears Judgement is on the list! You should do that before you play Gears 4 since it's a prequel. It takes place back in the beginning of the war

You should do the Declassified missions, as well as Aftermath as well.
Way before the release of the game, Epic Games launched some sort of campaign in which you could decide the fate of Clayton, the way to do so was purchasing a T-shirt for your avatar, one with the legend "Save Carmine" and the other with "Kill Carmine"

Not sure if was mentioned yet but there was a campaign before Gears 3 was released to vote if Carmine lived or died and you didn't know until you played the game which won the vote. Hence the subtle Carmine death scares throughout the game.

Are you planning on playing Gears of War: Judgement?
This is why I won’t play any of the sequels (and the interquel/prequel), because this ending is far too good. Yes, there are unanswered questions but we understood the main story enough to know what was going on, what the stakes were, who the characters were and why we cared about them. Everything else is left up for the imagination, including any backstory.
I can’t play any of the new games because I’m scared to see such an ending as this be cheapened by a company’s demand for more money. Every story should have its run and allow to end. Sure, you can have exceptions but when it ends this good, it should be allowed to end this good.
After all, part of the journey is the end and accepting it.
