    We are taking a look at the unique Aclam pedalboards that are made of extruded aluminum, and offer very high quality and flexibility. Best of all you can now say goodbye to velcro!
    We look at the parts then put the unit together to see what it has to offer!

    I picked one of these up used the other day for a good deal. It's the largest size, but same otherwise. A couple things that weren't really touched on:
    -the pedal connectors can be offset, on different tracks, allowing the pedals to be pushed together to the width of one connector rather than 2 on the same track.
    -the actual surface can be flipped over in the bracket, allowing it to be used in the conventional way with Velcro
    Im quite happy with it. I got it for the price of a cheap Amazon board, so even if i didn't use the clips it was worth it.

      Excellent point. I was thinking that the brackets limited how close together you could pinch a given pair of pedals, but then so do the audio connectors, unless the jacks are oriented to the top of the pedals. But then, when that's the case, you could put a felt strip or some such between the two pedals to prevent rubbing/scratching and pinch TWO pedals between one set of brackets. Using a mix of brackets and velcro makes a lot of sense if like me, you have some core pedals that never leave the board and others that are swapped in and out at intervals, for different situations.

    Nice video. Glad to see ACLAM get some youtube love. Owning my SMART TRACK S2 for a few years now, I wished I'd gotten the "FREE ROUTING" design so that at least cables could be routed under the board in places. Top rout only is limiting but considering the fact that it doesn't damage pedals & keeps them 100% cleaner than Velcro, I've never even considered going back to Velcro systems. For me, this works. I just wish there were "dime" sized holes drilled across each row that cables now just lay in. I think 3 or 4 in each row would do, so that cables could be routed that way, giving even more flexibility without adversely effecting the design/function of the original board. This is critical for power supply cables. I'm considering doing this to mine.

    Hiya. Around three weeks ago I commented on your live Sunday show that I put together my first pedal board successfully. A viewer and then you asked what pedals I used and later I said I used a board which had adjustable 'brackets' and didn't need velcro or ties. I said it was made by Guitto. If I put a thought in your head about checking out these pedal boards... I hope anyone who sees this video and buys one will be happy because I think they're way better than velcro

  • @sneifert1968

    My only issue with this system is the spacing. The brackets are a little bulky and take up too much space on the board IMO. I think it’s a good idea. The brackets just need some tweaking, again IMO

    • @addictedtogear
      @addictedtogear  Před 3 lety +2

      I thought that may be an issue as well but there seems to be plenty of space on the board. Also I think the bigger brackets will be much more durable in the long run! Cheers!

    • @censored7881
      @censored7881 Před 2 lety

      I don't mind it because I don't want my pedals too close, so I can unplug them if necessary. But they should come out with a type of fastener that can hold a pedal on each side of it, so for example you would only need 6 fasteners for 2 pedals, rather than 8 of them (because there would only be 2 in between them).

    I love the fact that you also review many EU based manufacturer's products, great prices across the pond, but we lose ALL of the price gains & more in Customs/duty fees.... Thing is though that some EU manufacturers ALSO kill us price wise (i wont mention names, just think tremolo lol).
    I just had a look on the site and the prices aren't that bad actually & the board's modularity along with the availability of spare parts if needed, makes this an interesting item, BUT (yes, there is always a BUT), its a bit tough to 'hide' a power supply if your are using a one level board as opposed to a two tier like the one in the vid, even if you add leg extensions the extended legs in my humble opinion take an undue amount of stress and are not solid enough. As i said, thats only my opinion....
    But as a two tier PB, i like it quite a bit.

    • @addictedtogear
      @addictedtogear  Před 3 lety +2

      The good news is the board is wide enough to accommodate the power supply right on the board if you are only using one level. Thanks for the comment!
