Hey potato friends! I hope you're having a wonderful Sunday! Follow me on Instagram to see what I eat, I post my meals there regularly. instagram.com/potato.wisdom
Why people care about the choice of words is dumb. What I don't like is misuse of your and you're and there they're and their. Great job Janine and congrats on the new book!
My pet peeve is when people use the word loose instead of lose haha!
Your daily weight loss data really hammered home the importance of patience along the journey. Day-to-day it doesn’t seem like much is happening, but over the course of the month you can really see the impressive progress you made! Thanks for the reminder. 👍😊
Loved seeing the weight fluctuation and seeing over 1 month it finally went down. Great visuals. Keep going, you’re doing “like awesome!” 😉
Glad to see you again. Wow, another book. Can't wait.
You hit 17k! 🙌🏻 Woot Woot! Congrats potato Queen 👸🏻🥔!!
17K!!? I don't understand why but I'm grateful! Thanks Jenny
Thank you for sharing your experience on this one. It was great to see all the videos!
well done and congratulations! I'm so inspired ❤
Yay, thanks for sharing your results with us, including that graph - a great reminder for all of us.
Congratulations on 17K! 🥳 And it’s exciting to hear about book 2!
Looking forward to the vlog, I hope you’ve been enjoying lots of yummy summer fruit! 🍉🍒🥭
P.S Like, awesome! (There will be people who hate any word we use, so use whatever you like!)
Congrats!!!!
Yay on a new book!!!! Love your eyeliner today!
Yay! Thank you! It's a huge commitment as you know! EEEP!
love this! i have severe debilitating chronic fatigue - basic food prep takes all the energy i have (sometimes i can't even do that, i've become malnourished and yet overweight at the same time). at one point out of necessity i started boiling up a big pan of potatoes that i could eat on for the week and save my precious energy. i didn't know that potato-fasting was a Thing but after a month of that i realized i had more clarity, a little bit more energy and even lost weight even though that's the least of my concerns at this point. the simplicity is wonderful! in my old life i used to love cooking and spending hours in the kitchen but these days i'd rather do other creative things with my tiny energy... something more life-affirming, like being able to read or paint for a little bit, to have more life in my life beyond basic survival. i'm so glad i found your video, i'm definitely going to do this again whether it's 100% or just more potato focused. as someone who tends to do better on fats and proteins it surprised me how well my body tolerated and thrived on potatoes! (i used fats also)
You always keep it real. Congratulations on your progress and downward trend.👏 Also, 17K? Woo Hoo!🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Laura, I appreciate you so much!
Nice work! Love the name Fruits & Roots! 👏🤩
Love it! “ I don’t apologize for that, it’s just who I am” 💕
Fabulous results! Thank you for all your great videos! You’re a real inspiration. Because of wanting to have some of your crispy potatoes I bought a Cuisinart belgian waffle maker. I wish I had gotten a plain waffle maker as the waffles are too deep and therefore are soft and crispy. I’d rather have uniform crispiness. I tried potatoes and also oatmeal waffles. So, on Sunday I bought a cuisinart griddler. I think it will be better for crispy potatoes! I tried the oven and a NuWave air fryer but I think the griddle will be better. First use was for rueben sandwiches using tempeh. Very good.
Yay for the weight & the inch loss!! I am thinking about trying it to get back on track
Great results! I say awesome all the time too! Lol and I’m not apologizing either! 😉 Thanks for the update Jeannine!
Like, totally stay awesome Laura! 😂
Congratulations on your results. Fruits and roots is an awesome program. Everyone needs to do it at least once!
I totally agree! You rocked it when we did it back in 2018!
@@PotatoWisdom thank you ❤ I loved being a part of the group. 😁
Way to go Jeannine!
you look fantastic!! for the last 10 yrs I gained 58 lbs, I think the pizza and noodles caught up with me and stayed. I have tried everything. Am going to try this
17k🤯🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 congrats you perfect potato blossom you!!!!
Thank you!!
Like the video. Awesome job.
Love plain boiled potatoes. That's good because I also sometimes need disipline and simplicity. You help.
Jeannine!!!! Where have you been? I have been binge watching your videos and decided to do a potato reset the month of January 2022. You videos are so inspiring! I’d love to see more videos and know what you’ve been up to! I hope you’re doing well! 💕
Happy New Year!
Also, I just bought your book and love it! It’s so helpful!
Heyyy!!! I just saw this now (sorry). I had a rough last 6 months in 2022 and a bit of depression. I plan to do an update catch-up video soon!
Three years ago when I went on the all potato diet, I couldn't go anywhere because I was in the bathroom, I almost gave up because of this issue, so I lost 9lb just getting myself cleaned out. In total, I went from size 20 to 14 in a matter of a few months. Potato happens to be my favorite food, so this is the diet for me. i'm back up to size 16, so I'm going on the diet again, I'm here to get a refresher!
I LOVE the fruits and roots idea! I am ADF and on my fast days I have 500 calories of taters and greens and If I have room, fruits!
Is that similar to intermittent fasting? Just alternate days?
@@PotatoWisdom It is! I have seen some people who intermittent fast on their alternative eat day and some people who just stick with their calculated caloric intake
Good job
To me, 'reset' the tastebuds would be the same as 'neuroadaptation'
yasss! That's the better way to say it!
Hi there!
Love your channel! Could you please tell me what app that is you are using?
Thank you! ❤️
Which scale and app do you use? I just returned home so feels like I’m starting over 😬 I’ll be going through your videos to get some inspiration- thank you for your awesome videos! 🙏🏼❤️
I use a Renpho scale that is linked via bluetooth with the Renpho app on my phone.
@@PotatoWisdom perfect thank you so much 👌🏼
Your like totally awesome. Lol. Great job! I lose slow slow slow and I gain fast fast fast lol. but it’s all good.
It's very easy to gain, some of us are just easy gainers. Booo!
Awesome results! Love it and also great work on the 17k!!! I have just finished 19 weeks of potatoes only mainly from following SpudFit. I was also interviewed recently by him as a super spuddy! I am vlogging my own weightloss journey and enjoying uploading my journey on YT (if you get a chance please check out my story). I did high starch foods for the last 3 weeks but now I want to go back to spuds only as have 10kg more to lose! I have reversed my high blood pressure and also helped my anxiety. I love that I can fit into smaller clothes and feel better. Thank you for sharing your videos, love to watch and support. Nic x
I'm on a very strict budget, how much do you spend on food per month as an individual? thanks
Gave up jogging? You have the solution right behind you, right up against that wall. I have one also, got it when i read all the benefits of the trampoline
Need help. Can't seem to start
Love your videos! Where can I find that t-shirt?
@@PotatoWisdom love it! You’re an inspiration to me and love your pups too ❤️
I listened to a video of a person who had an identical twin and when they went on the high-starch vegan diet one of them lost weight much more quickly than the other. Her explanation was that her sister had been on many diets in her life, losing and regaining every time -- whereas she had not dieted. Her twin can still lose weight, but it just takes a lot longer (and way, way longer than it takes for men). I think it is because the body is on the lookout to be starving and becomes calorie conservative, hanging on to fat for dear life. I know my body is like that. For me, if I lose a pound a week I'm doing GREAT...!!!
It's so fascinating isn't it? That's Dr. Rosanne Oliviera you are talking about, I'm a fan!
@@PotatoWisdom Awesome -- I had overheard it when not looking at the screen and didn't even know she was a doctor or her name. Thanks!
If I need 1600 cal a day, for a month, how many pounds of potatoes should I buy, I shop once a month, being in a rural area and limited transportation. I'll take answers from anyone Thank you,
It would be good to see your glucose fluctuations too. We never see this info for non diabetics so it would be interesting to see what effect, if any, it has in a relatively healthy person.
That would be interesting! How would I go about getting glucose readings? (ps. I realize this is an extremely delayed response).
@@PotatoWisdom you'd need to get a glucose monitor like diabetics use. They are pretty cheap. test how high your blood glucose goes after eating and how long it takes to return to base. Test at 30min, 1hr, 2hr, 3hr, 4hr. Should be back to base within 3hrs.
Greetings from Guatemala. Thank for this interesting video. My question is - What is the main difference between doing a reset diet eating only potatoes, and doing a reset diet eating potatoes and some other food (maybe on a separate day) such as avocados? Note - I have zero interest in losing weight since I have never had a weight problem. And I do like potatoes enough that I think I could eat only potatoes for 4 weeks, if I had a reason to think that would be better than trying to do a reset diet using potatoes and some other food.
If you have zero interest in losing weight then I don't see a problem with a potato focused diet that includes plenty of veggies and some overt fats like avocado. The other benefit to The Potato Reset is that it helps to recover from junk food addiction
@@PotatoWisdom - Thank you for your comment. Over the past 6 weeks, I have seen a lot of YT videos on the potato diet. And I have probably experimented with eating more potatoes in the last 6 weeks than in the last dozen or so years - so I feel I am very much along the road to having a potato focused diet. It is the easiest food plan I have ever tried, I really like it, and plan to continue with it for the for the foreseeable future. I am basically eating only 3 different meals. One - potatoes or sweet potatoes, two - a large avocado with kimchee or sauerkraut, and maybe moringa powder, three - cacao paste with chia pudding, kimchee or sauerkraut, and maybe moringa powder and/or spirulina. Cacao is grown behind a volcano I can see from my house. I often snack on a couple of tablespoons of Greek yogurt. I often season with a little apple cider vinegar or extra virgin olive oil, and a normal seasoning like black pepper. I am finding these foods super easy to prepare, inexpensive, filling, and delicious. I am pretty sure that in the right amounts, these foods have all the nutrition a human needs.
Note - you say Canada is cold - for the last 15 years I have lived in a climate where in the daytime it is always warm, but I know what cold is. I once spent some time in the winter in a town at the end of the road in Sweden. That town was a few hundred miles from the Arctic Circle, and I was living there because it was where my girlfriend at that time was born and raised, and where her parents lived.
I don't get it. If a person is on a plant based style of living, and active, why just potatoes.. Its kinda like back and forth.
I'm vegan and focus my diet around whole plant foods, however, The Pleasure Trap is a real deal. I do a Potato Reset once per year to or whenever needed, to refocus and get the desire for processed foods out of my system. It's a process called neuro-adaptation, for me, The Potato Reset facilitates this in a very painless way. If I could live on a planet where processed foods do not exist, I would not need a "reset". I hope that answers your question.
