Best pitcher in NY history-Sincerely a Yankee Fan.
From one Yankee fan to another, I AGREE!
Never thought a Yankees fan would say that
@@drewthax8468 who do you think they would say is better
Agreed! That stretch off the mound was astounding. Ryan said he could throw 100 from time to time. My childhood hero along with Steve Carlton.
Whitey Ford is #2.
And Jerry Grote was perfect as his catcher
As a New Yorker it hurts when I found out he passed I stared bursting into tears
SQUIDWARD ATE YOUR MOM I’m not a New Yorker and I’m still sad
A true legend
Franchise Tom Terrific is undeniably the Greatest Met to ever play. Thank you sir and Rest In Peace!
He is immortalized now. Just saw his statue last week infront of city field.
A heavy ball master. Tom Seaver was the best pitcher I ever saw up close... The best. I'm very very sad today....
Tom Terrific is Gone. He was a hero of my youth. I can remember my cousin talking about lets go watch Seaver. He was a NY Sport Legend. I watched him win his 300th game with the White Sox. I remember him opening day in 1983. He was a bulldog. We all will miss him because he represents the best of an era!!!
Greatest met of all time
Tom Seaver is the GOAT ; to think otherwise is absurd
Tom Seaver, proving good guys do not always finish last. He was one of my boyhood heroes.
most underrated player of all time
I remember when he was Traded to Cincinnati for 5 players... he cried in the locker room when asked about it.. I cried too.. then and now... Tom Terrific
I cried too.
2020 has been so cruel
He’s the definition a great person. So sad that he had dementia. Sending prayers to his family 🙏🏻😭
Tom Seaver forever we love you and we miss you! 🙂 #LGM
I was a kid in NY in the 1960s/70s. Every little leaguer wanted number 41 and everyone wanted to pitch. Seaver's Topps baseball card? A treasure. To this day, he will always be the best pitcher I've ever seen. When he had his A game, you could just write the W down after the first inning because he only got better as the game went on. Legend.
Number 41 is a number that the mets should respect and remember his greatness, rest my brother god needs you in his team now.
1969 forever
Bobby Bonds, "Seaver's fastball takes off like a 747."
Rest In Peace, Tom Terrific
Coming from a Yankee fan since my childhood, watching Tom (Terrific) Seaver pitch while growing up was a privilege, he was a true champion.
Prayers to his family..
Mets should wear 41 for todays game or tomorrows game
Absolutely agree
_You’re A Genius!_
Could you imagine how many more wins seaver would have if he pitched for teams that could actually score runs maybe 400 wins !
I was about to press a like but I won’t because it’s 41
Bless him, such a great guy and incredible ball player
70's met fan. Thanks Tom... Still Have your Topps Baseball card from 1973
Would you sell it to me ?
Tom Seaver and Walter Johnson only 2 pitchers with 3000 k’s,300 wins and a era under 3.00 WOW
Ty... for the doubters out there..there you go...👍⚾
Yeah, I saw that the other day. No stat manipulating going on there. Pure dominance.
#41 Forever! Tom Terrific...Thanks for the Memories
What an absolutely masterful pitcher. Life is way waaay to short. Thank you for the great memories, Mr. Seaver. Always had class and showed respect.
The best. Tom Seaver was baseball.
He's probably the best pitcher in modern baseball history.
He had some memorable pitching duals with the great Bob Gibson too..
@J.Joseph Ami-Ga' Durability is a big part of greatness. Koufax didn't have it
Greatest right handed pitcher in ny since Christy mathewson !
CAN'T THINK OF A BETTER PITCHER DID SO MUCH WITH SO LITTLE WON A TON OF GAMES WITH A FEEBLE OFFENSE !

Quote From Tom Seaver - "God Is Living In New York, And He Is a Met Fan."
Childhood memories, 😢😢😢. R.I.P. Tom Terrific!
Good tribute covering all the bases. We'll never see another as great as him.
I was at that game, in Flushing when Seaver struck out 19, last 10 in a row. Can never forget, even how I "described" the geme to my father's sister, my Aunt Moyra, as ehe says, ..."pitch by pitch...." and yet, more than 50 years later, cannot forget even the description as I can still see so clearly as if I am there NOW.
Seaver and Gary Carter were the greatest Mets. Quality people and super talented ballplayers. Doc had as many gifts as they did but his career didn't shine quite like it should have
It's mentioned here in this video, but it's one thing my dad, an old Mets fan, & even all his old buddies used to say; Nobody was more consistent than Tom Terrific. Five 1-hitters, pretty much as impressive, if not moreso, than any one no-hitter. What a model of professionalism & class. Godspeed to "The Franchise."
I will never forget the greatest pitcher the mets had he threw very hard, he had great control, especially in the year that they won their first worlds series, he won a lot of games for them, outstanding pitcher, rest in peace tom, baseball will not forget you, i saw you pitch in many games, you were a legend.
"... you _are_ a legend."
The franchise and Tom terrific.
I watched him pitch at Shea; great pitcher
Tom was the most important Met player ever . I was a the game he won is 300 win.
The greatest pitcher of all time
One of the greatest I ever saw in my life ❤️
Thank you for the great memories. I hope we get to win one more WS for you Tom.
A very good player
Rest Well Number 41
AS A YANKEE FAN IN 1985 I WAS ROOTING FOR SEAVER TO BEAT MY TEAM FOR WIN NUMBER 300 HE DID IT WITH FINESSE AND GUILE NO LONGER OVERPOWERING !
Legend
I saw his first start back at Shea in 1983...I was 12 years old...my father caught a foul ball
I was 12 in 69 and saw him pitch on September 9th. He pitched a complete game and doubled off the wall. It was also the game where a black cat walked in front of the Cubs dugout. Ask your father he'll know.
@@gh9111 I mean u saw the game not i
I will misshim.
In addition to his 311 career wins, while on the Mets, Seaver pitched in 75 games where he gave up 2 runs or less and got a "no decision".
He was my hero as a kid ......
Who would give a thumbs down to this video!!!???
That was 1970 all-star game at the beginning striking out Frank Howard and Harmon Killerbrew
Imagine if he was still alive to witness sticky stuff
I fell in love with the Mets because of Tom. I listened on the radio, as he mowed down batters. Only The Mets always lost. I got a Mets cap and glove for Christmas of 67. Joined a little team in the spring. I knew what I was going to be, a baseball player and I was to pitch. Boom life happened. MLK riots and white flight. The suburbs are cruel to inner city immigrant kids. No room on the team..Then Tom caught fire. The Mets went on a run of a lifetime. I was back in love with baseball. What a team, what a time. When the Mets traded Nolan Ryan, I was heartsick. Jim Fergosi? really. I made it to legion ball. The Mets traded Seaver and I never really forgave him. Good bye Tom. You made those long summer days at the cottage in Canada so memorable. You and Nolan Ryan that is.
Tom Ksaver 😭
Tom
Goat
Killer will💯🔥🐐
WONDER HOW MANY GAMES SEAVER WOULD HAVE WON IF HE HAD PITCHED FOR A TEAM THAT COULD HIT !
Probably not that many more ...life is 'odd' in that way.
Rest in peace the heart of mets
😭😭😭😭
When they make this
this dude is broken in the show
As it should be
Good man...USMC....
FRESNO NATIVE 559
Got his 300th win, and on that same day, Carew got his 3000th hit.
WHAT A GREAT PERSON! GOD BLESS HIM IN JESUS CHRIST'S MOST HOLY NAME AMEN!
Hof
Isn’t this guy like an absolute glitch in the show?
Mets trading Seaver is the most Mest thing ever 😂
Who disliked?
Prob a member of the Taliban is my best guess lol
Phillies fan. LGM
me , a Ron Santo fan
he was great and he would never kneel
I hope his legacy will want free agents to come to "New York," and to become a "Met!"
It's not his legacy that prevents that from happening, it's the Mets. They're a train wreck.
Were he getting burried at they need to make statue Nolan only one left or vida
So, 19 years before the NBA, MLB rigged their lottery.
I swear to god this frickin virus 🦠
Dumbest trade ever
