He is the all time leader in at bats by a large margin. In other words, he should lead every offensive category. In all of them he is down the list. Some WAY down. Look it up.

    • @joez203
      @joez203 Před 5 lety

      @chris klein Rose was an above average player. Probably not a great one and certainly not one of the greatest of all time. An AVERAGE year for Rose was .303/6HR/50 RBI. Not much of a glove or arm. ZERO speed and power. Again, Rose was the all time leader in at bats by far. The only all time category he leads in is most hits. Oh and one more: Rose made the most outs in baseball history. he leads that category by a mile and a half.

    MLB banned him from the HOF (I understand the reason they did) but keeping him out of the HOF has created a really interesting irony that MLB wishes doesn’t exist, but they can’t avoid, and it’s that because they banned him, the name Pete Rose is instantly associated with the HOF on a yearly basis anytime there is an induction ceremony. In fact the name Pete Rose is mentioned more than a lot of the the guys in the HOF so banning him actually has kept Pete’s name at the forefront of MLB’s all time greats

Or maybe he didn't want to bet on a particular game because he knew the game after was more favorable if he just sat certain players or pitchers and rested them for the game after when he did bet. The whole betting thing stinks. He owed bookies so much money so who knows how this would have turned out had he not gotten caught.
