Hades 2 Early Access GameSpot Review

Hades II is an ambitious expansion of all the ideas that came before it, balancing them beautifully to create one of the best roguelites on the market even in its incomplete state.
Just like the first game, Hades 2 has launched first in early access, allowing developer Supergiant Games to delicately tweak and balance gameplay, as well as add new content before its full launch. Hades 2, however, feels like a complete product right now. With satisfying combat that has far more depth than its predecessor ever managed, it raises the question: what’s left to refine? It's significantly larger than the first game too, with more areas to explore, different routes to take, and a much bigger story to tell. If it wasn't for its (currently) missing ending and a few placeholders here or there, Hades 2 could already emphatically be declared as a brilliant successor to one of the greatest rougelites out there. Hades 2 improves upon its predecessor in every way, making it a masterfully crafted sequel.

I am absolutely loving Hades 2, but I don’t think we need all the “makes the original game pale in comparison” - Hades is objectively a nearly perfect game in its own right and set the foundation for this sequel. Hades 2 additions and enhancements don’t diminish the shine of Hades. Also, great review except for the odd pronunciations, but that’s accents I guess 🙃

Hades 2 IS already a huge improvement and more than worthy sequel to the first. Another GOTY contender from Super Giant game.

I think they said they’ll be working on Early Access for at least most of this year, so I would think it’ll be out maybe early next year. It was about the same when they made Hades 1.

Understandable, but why not just start a new save file. They said EA will last until the end of the year. I am definitely starting with a fresh save file for 1.0

I have Hades 1 on the Nintendo Switch, it's a good game and Hades 2 looks more awesome game on Early Access and love the Protagonist Main Character is a beautiful and powerful female. I'll hope Hades 2 comes to the Nintendo Switch and other concoles too. Hades 2 is a 9/10 awesome game! 😊❤

To me well I like hades 2 a lot so far I have already gone back to Hades 1 because I feel the combat is not nearly as tight and satisfying. Also we the story is still good, and it probably get way better. The writting in the first game is hard to top. Hades 2 is a 8 out of 10 for me. The original is a 10. Im happy that the game is trying new things and adding new stuff and not just repeating what the originally did. Still the game play to me is just not as tight and weapons do feel nearly as good are the originally so I don't have the urgency to grind like i did in the original. Still I like the game a lot so far.

Thats probably because the narrator (DeVante Chisolm) and reviewer (Alessandro Barbosa) are different. So you're probably right that the narrator hasn't played the game.

You have to upgrade the arcana card to increase it by 30% speed.

The reviewer calls the main protagonist Melin-oh-e,which is the right way, instead of Melin-oh-eh, the way she is called in the game.

No, the way it’s pronounced in the game is correct. The game defines the correct pronunciation.
