Loved it! Gave me that old time Star Wars excitement WOOPEE Feeling Yah know!!! OBI-WON,
ANAKIN'S GONE...💔
“You didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker. I did” - Darth Vader
Chills.
The most Darth Vader thing ever.
I heard Palpatine's voice, when he says that
I heard Anakin say "You didnt kill Anakin Skywalker," Then Darth Vader say, "I did."
@@juliemartell5151 yea you can hear anakin for moment and then it changes to Darth Vader
He is kidding himself tho. Anakin is the same insecure, petulant brat as ever behind the mask. The name change is just that, a change of name, not a change of person or personality. The mask and suit just help with the charade. He basically has the profile of a teenage school shooter.
Can we all appreciate Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen's performance?
yes
Maybe
I don't know
i do but some people just don't get it
Can you repeat the question
I like how Obi-Wan stopped seeing him as Anakin and started acknowledging him as Darth Vader in Episode 6.
“Then my friend is truly dead.”
“Goodbye, Darth”.
“Only a master of evil, Darth”
Episode 4 my g
@@animeshpati5525 Episode 6 of series :)
@@Marco.05
“a padawan you will still be”
”When I left you I was but the learner. Now, *I* am the master.”
I especially love how after accepting Anakin’s dead, he still left him alive so he could get his son to kill him later. In the OT, he tells Luke it’s the only way to win.
Kenobi lost everything. His master, his love, his order, his brother, even his own name. But no matter what, he pushed on throughout his series and was finally able to see things clearly. While Anakin is gone, his kindness and generosity was passed down in the form of his kids
Let's not forget his archenemy darth maul. Yeah, he was responsible for his master and lover's death, but they've been fighting for a long time. He even showed compassion, and mercy for him after putting him down, despite all the said stuff he put obi wan through
his love 😭😭😭😭
The editing in this was flawless had me tearing up the whole time just seeing them go from training to straight fighting. Just beautiful work

This edit really shows how Both of them feel when dueling what a masterpiece
Thanks so much dude!
@@ADedits9magnifique, juste magnifique
The fact that he calls him Master instead of Obiwan after defeating him, means so much.
So powerful.
I can't ...
Excuse me… after {almost} defeating him. Look at what he has risen above!!!! Darth Anakin Disloyal Fool was defeated twice by Obi Wan.
@@tbountybay3080Vader has always been a better duelist and more powerful in the force but his conflicting of fighting obiwan aka obiwans plot armour allows Vader to lose
@@BenAri18 There is more to it than that. His hunger for victory was always a problem, but against a defensive master like Obi-Wan, he would always have great difficulty. Obi-Wan's connection to the force was not as strong as Anakin's, but he was so disciplined in his defensive abilities that Anakin always had problems achieving victory against him. This led Anakin to make mistakes out of frustration, and left him defenseless against an opponent who fought with cold precision. Obi-Wan embodied what it meant to be a Jedi. It wasn't only about mastery of the force. It was about mastery of the self. In the latter category, Anakin was a very poor Jedi.
As a Sith, Vader's lack of self control was encouraged. It meant that his final fight against his son would be very dangerous for him. At no time in the ROTJ fight, is Luke not controlling the combat. For Luke, it was his final trial, not to defeat Vader, but to claim true self control. Confronting Vader was about self control. Luke lost it, but regained it, and was willing to die if that was required.
In a way, I'm happy that they have not had Luke and Anakin have any scenes post ROTJ. Ahsoka came to view the universe with apathy. Anakin had the put her on the right path after losing to Baylin Skoll. "[she lacked] conviction". That was something that Anakin could teach. Luke never needed to learn that.
5:29 Will never get tired of Sir Alec Guinness's performance. His face says it all; the sorrow, the pain, the regret. That subtle glance to the side as if he had just come back from reliving a nightmare.
What an actor.
Edit: Yes, I'm aware that the whole clone wars and prequel thing didn't even exist or have the necessary context to at the time; it's probably why I wrote this admiration for Sir Alec Guinness in the first place.
AGREED
And all of it, without actually knowing anything. It's only thanks to him, if 40 years later we can link his scene so well to everything that has been added later
And he didn't see or know a thing, there was no graphic material of what Obi-Wan went through. George Lucas probably told him something like, "Act as if you lost your best friend in a tragic way." There's a video called "Obi-Wan has PTSD" that reflects all of this much better, it's just incredible, it seems like Alec Guinness knew the whole plot from the beginning.
@@Mr.Sax. completely agree.
It's even better knowing that Alec Guinness had so many great suggestions to the script that George Lucas called him after the first showing for critics and offered him another point on the movie because all of his suggestions ended up being what the critics liked.
Okay say what you will about the show, this whole scene was a masterpiece. The way Vader's voice shifts from James Earl Jones to Hayden Christensen, with a little Sebastian Shaw in there too, beautiful. Heartbreakingly beautiful.
A masterful edit too, chills and tears as usual 😂😂
I mean the choreography is dreadful and ewan sounds completely off. Obi wan doesn't even sound like obi wan in the series. The only good part about that final fight was at the end when hayden was speaking through the broken mask
@@randomcontentguy2521 Ok, bro. Thanks for chiming in.

More emotion in a 5 minute fan video than episodes 7-9 combined. Well done.

@@janirobe I agree this series hurt to watch
Agreed.
@@janirobe episode 5 had a lot of emotion in it
shut up please, sequels comments are so boring already
I think what’s even more heartbreaking is seeing his face, the tragedy, suffering, anger, and pain behind the mask. And Leia wishing to know what her father was like. Knowing that Anakin was kind hearted strong passionate and loving, but this is what he currently is. Broken, misguided, and alone
Palpatine was right. Vader is weakened when fighting someone he's attached to.
I mean imagine you having to fight and striking down your friend.
@@tadejloncar Obi-wan nearly killed Anakin by cutting him to pieces and leaving him by a lava river to burn. I'm not sure anyone who has to go through that will still call the guy who did it to him his friend.
But again, Vader is a fictional character. He won't be anything but what the person who wrote his story wants him to be, regardless of what the original Vader in the Starwars trilogy actually is.
@@victorstr9396 ive never seen a bigger cringe comment like this one ngl
@@marvin1v929 you can tell bro is a NPC and doesn’t have much social interaction in real life lol
Yes, same thing happened with Ahsoka in Rebels. You saw that it was Anakin calling to her clearly.
when Obi said - then my friend is truly dead - that was the first time ever that I really realised that wasn’t Anakin underneath the mask - and I always wanted for that to be Anakin, not Vader. I truly felt that. Hayden did a strong punchline with just two sentences.
Now we know what Obi-Wan meant when he said that Darth Vader killed Anakin in Episode 4.
Yes👍🏼
From a certain point of view.
Actually he's told his mean to Luke in episode 6 when Luke asked why Obi-Wan said that Darth Vader killed his father
We knew that 40 years ago in Return of the Jedi. These tv series are such pandering bullshit.
@@deanhart9627 yes we knew, but we didn't know how. if these tv series are such "pandering bullshit" then why do you watch them? I'm sure you think that everything else made outside of the star wars movies are "pandering bullshit" too. If you don't like it simply don't watch it, but don't come here insulting everyone who likes the show by saying we like "pandering bullshit."
You can hear Anakin voice say "I'm not your failure" and then he said "Obi wan" in Darth Vader's voice, that's hits so deep...😢
Something must be said about Obi-Wan's emotional strength. I can't even imagine the anguish he must be suffering having to see his best friend just fall deeper and deeper into the very thing they once fought against together.
The emotional toll they both carry toward one another runs so deep that every time they see each other, this pain inevitably climaxes into a tumultuous fight.
But most impressive of all is how long he has to cope with this severe burden. Darth Vader lives a long life, and does countless horrific things over the years. With constant reminders of this nightmare, it is no wonder Obi-Wan secluded himself for so many years.
In my opinion, it was just as much essential to his survival from a physical standpoint as it was from an emotional one. He surely needed that seperation from this never-ending horror to find some measure of peace again.
Wow, well-done. The way you paralleled the clips had a way of connecting Anakin with Vader. It draws out the tensions and motifs from multiple movies. It takes the new fight scene to another emotional level.
"You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you."
Insane edit Alex! Got emotional watching this haha
Thanks brother!
Bring on the Kenobi pirate cut 90-120 minute movie! Cut the crap. Anyone out there with some skills?

The Kenobi show just adds so many more opportunities for amazing edits like this one. I’m absolutely loving the new Vader content we have gotten and having Obi-Wan with him has just been so fun to see, it really adds even more to the Star Wars universe
Smh
Such a good line “anakin is gone, I am what remains”
And heartbreaking because even tho vader and anakin are separate characters.....it's still anakin inside that suit of darkness suffering but its beautiful when in ep 6 anakin returns and vader is gone.
Jesus Christ, the feelings in this edit, the cuts to past and present, from brothers to foes. It hits every note in one's feelings
I was only 12 when Hayden did 'revenge of the sith'. Watched it for the cool action, didn’t understand a thing. Years later, i watched all episodes, understood his character and really loved it. The way a brilliant young mind corrupted by politics shown was phenomenal. And really liked Hayden's acting. Looked really promising.
Now after so long, (and 3 horrible sequels later), watching him again as the same old anakin, gave me a profound pleasure. I don't know why he left Hollywood, but he still got it. This seires may not be so top notch, but Hayden just killed his part. However small the screen time, he DID NOT disappoint me.
Thank you Hayden. You're a gem.
I was 9 and cried my eyes out
What a beautiful edit! Anakin and Obi-Wan had such an amazing yet sad story and this video really captures that. McGregor and Christensen were perfectly cast, I only wish we could see more of them performing their characters’ stories.
This is so impressive. The way you have cut each lightsaber swing to then connect with a completely different scene is absolutely masterful. It flows so naturally and seamlessly. 👏
This is just phenomenal.
It never ceases to amaze me how good are these fan-made tributes and montages. In great many ways they fix what Disney screwed up.
Watching this was cathartic. Thank You.
👏👏👏👏👏
It's absolutely amazing how the three duels mirror each other so well. Great edit!
This is Perfect. The fallen Jedi Knight against a retired Master.
Ok, ok. You just made the best video I've ever seen about Star Wars, I have no words to describe the emotion I've felt. All of Star Wars, the whole story of Skywalker, all of its tragedy is here. Thank you for this.
This is so epic! Flashing between Mark Hamill and Alec Guinness’s dialogueless expressions built so much emotion and tied everything together so well. So good!
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANTLY beautifully gut-wrenching and heartbreaking.
"You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker.....I did"
WOWWWWW.
The moment that Obi-Wan realizes that "Anakin" is truly dead, but he can still save his kids.....heartbreaking.
god damn this edit is PERFECT. gave me chills from start to end. really great job!!
This Edit REALLY Captures the heart of Kenobi's and Anakin's story. AND even highlights the "operatic tones" that help to make this series great in the first place.
Amazing edit, with a ton of heart clearly put behind it! Great work. And Thank you!
Great edit as always. So much emotion! I love it! Star Wars STRIKES BACK!!!
That was really well done. You are very talented. Great job. Love the ending.
Thanks!
Neither of them have ever been able to deliver a fatal blow with a lightsaber, to one another. They loved each other like brothers, that love is still there. I even think Obi Wan acknowledges that he will never have the capacity to defeat Vadar when he uses himself to inspire Luke to become a Jedi with his "death"
Amazing! They hit hard separately but together like this is another level!
Easily one of the coolest videos I've ever watched in my life!!! Absolutely epic

Wonderful, wonderful. You brilliantly captured their bond and the emotions through years. Fine work, indeed
Never in my life since the summer of 1977 when I saw the first Star Wars would I ever imagine...I always often wondered about the certain lines of some sort of history that the whole world didn't know about when obi wan to talk about luke skywalkers father and why he knew so much...Not to mention how cool R2D2 knew who obi wan was the whole time and cp3-0 because he was created by Lukes's dad when he was a kid and how it traveled down to generations looking at the edits from the past come together....Well done...I was 7yrs old when the first movie came out....seeing all of it put together like this in my middle years shows the excellence in the credence of the storyline...These are the scenes every star wars fan may have played in there back of their minds come to life on screen. I knew that they had to meet more than once in fact this fight scene explains why obi-wan said what he said in star wars..."He's more machine than man twisted and evil"....this scene explains that because we see that obi-wan gave up believing in his old apprentice and friend.
Very good work! I love this. This is the best so far.
Beautiful work you did

This is the best star wars edit ive ever seen captures emotions from both sides on point refers to all the past leading to the present and translating the similarities its so amazing
This is just... 😍. Honestly a pure masterpiece. Better than the original version. You bought back all the emotions from 1,2 and 3 and Obi-Wan all in a few mins.

MASTER PIECE, thanks for sharing mate!
😍😍😍😍 this is so amazing great editing.
Just a really great job, fantastic, well done!
LOVED your flashback edit as Kenobi breaks free of the rock pile. Seeing the additional footage of him with Qui-Gon and preparing to jump up to Maul in TPM combined with the reminders of Luke and Leia added an extra significance and emotional weight that I personally like better than the original scene.
Really enjoyed your edit, although if I may offer one small suggestion: as much as I loved the additional cuts and flashbacks, at times they were so frequent, they were almost distracting. Still, I really enjoyed it and look forward to your next project.
It really points out how obi wan embodies hope when there is none
Awesome rendition of it bud, really liked all the call-backs during the fight and additional dialogue scenes throughout :)
This was amazing. So sick!

Wow, you are truly talented!! Amazing video!
I love how clearly anakin and darth vader are 2 separate characters but what I find beautiful about the scene with his mask cracked is he's wrong anakin isn't gone he's in there and they both spoke here there was genuine pain behind "im not your failure" but as he continues his voice switches inbetween then you get "you didn't kill anakin" then vader spoke with pride "I did" to me that was anakins last ditch effort to let obi wan know that he (anakin) doesn't blame obi wan even he (vader) does, anakin was the chosen one in the end he ultimately fulfilled the prophecy so indirectly that its genius
Your comment is also genious
This split persona is just a way for Anakin to don't blame himself for all his wrongs he did.
Anakin lost anything he loved. His wife and child, the order that trained him, his titel was hero of the republic his mother.
Obiwan is one of the last things from his past and he want him dead for this very reason.
I agree. Those words were both the nicest, and most heart breaking thing he could have said. I want to watch it a million times, while also never wanting to see it again.
