Obi-Wan Kenobi is an American television miniseries created for the streaming service Disney+. It is part of the Star Wars franchise and stars Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, reprising his role from the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Set ten years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005), the series follows Kenobi as he sets out to rescue the kidnapped Princess Leia (Vivien Lyra Blair) from the Galactic Empire, leading to a confrontation with his former apprentice Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen).
In Episode 6 of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+ we finally get to see the true final battle between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader. We've never seen Vader or Kenobi this strong on-screen in Star Wars before.
The project originated as a spin-off film written by Hossein Amini and directed by Stephen Daldry, but it was reworked as a limited series following the commercial failure of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018). McGregor was confirmed to be starring in August 2019, and Deborah Chow was hired to direct a month later. Production was scheduled to begin in July 2020, but the series was put on hold in January 2020 because Lucasfilm was unsatisfied with the scripts. Joby Harold was hired to rewrite the series and serve as showrunner in April 2020, executive producing with Chow, McGregor, Kathleen Kennedy, and Michelle Rejwan. Additional casting took place in March 2021, with co-stars such as Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Jimmy Smits, James Earl Jones, and Christensen reprising their prequel trilogy roles. Filming began by May 2021 in Los Angeles, using StageCraft video wall technology, and wrapped by September. Natalie Holt composed the score, while Star Wars film composer John Williams wrote the main theme.

The first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi premiered on May 27, 2022. The subsequent four episodes were released weekly until June 22. The series has received positive reviews; critics praised McGregor and Christensen's performances and Chow's direction, but criticized the writing.

I don’t know about anyone else but this is exactly what I wanted to hear when they started to duel, just like in Revenge of the Sith the last time they battled, I absolutely love this episode but Duel of the Fates deserved to be played at this point!! For sure it would of made this fight even more epic in my opinion

I love how they used the prequel's most powerful pieces for advertising but not one in the show except the binary suns.
I feel like the conversation at the end of this duel is just as good as the fight it’s self. The way akakin’s voice merges and splices with Vader’s is masterful editing. I genuinely feel like that 1 minute conversation is the best thing Disney Star Wars has produced, even though it was in a mid tier show.

In the trailers they gave such great soudtracks and in the series they created some boring rpg music. it was enough to copy from the prequels, not only that a better result is less work.

The light saver colours combining and changing on vaders face shows Anakins conflict between him and Vader fighting to come out and that shit hits peak Star Wars it makes funnier that it was on accident
Obi-Wans “I’m sorry Anakin, for all of it” was a realization of how bad the jedi failed him and how blind they were. They neglected the chosen one so bad that by doing that they pushed a young jedi to the end who all he wanted was to be loved and appreciated . Therefor, Obi Wan apologizing on behalf of the dead jedi order and because he misses his best friend 😢

This edit is a thousand times better without the reva crap and the prequel music. Music did get a bit loud at parts but MJ it flowed so much better. Disney and Lucas film need to hire some of the fans because they truly know what we want to see.

The music is too loud, and makes it to where you have to listen too hard to hear what they are saying. That's always the biggest issue I've noticed with content providers who change up or try to enhance videos.
To be honest the music was a complete letdown in the series, it deserved John Williams for one last time.

George Lucas sited John Williams score as the one thing he was 100% please with when it came to his films. Removing them proves how important the music is to Star Wars. Rouge One did a the best job without him.

I don’t care how much the show “sucked” overall. This scene is one of the greatest moments In starwars ever. They did such a fantastic job emphasizing the hate and vitriol Vader had for obi wan and how much obi wan resented it coming to this. Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion but they nailed the choreography and emotion perfectly. This score overlaying it just makes it that much better.

Excellent work - how many times does Obi have to kick his ass?
Literally 100 times better than the stock score we got. It was lackluster at best. Why not use this music? Its iconic and it is their theme. Honestly, this show looked fan made. Both Hayden and Ewan did the best with what they had. But all filmed in the volume and its so clear and obvious! Such a pity, Disney had a free play and a home run, but fumbled the bag.
I liked the music in the show. I think a small section of Duel of the Fates would have been really effective. The ‘Fate’ referred to in the title is that of Anakin; that applies to Jinn and Kenobi v Maul, Yoda vs Sidious, and it would have certainly applied here. Until Luke grows up, this is pretty much where his fate is sealed. There’s no one left who could bring him back now.
The sweet spot is somewhere between this and the actual show. I like Natalie’s score but it was a little light on the classic themes we know, considering the central relationships we’re following.

it's too much, to present for the momentum this moment represents. Sometimes less is more and for me, the music distracts too much from the battle and surroundings. They met on an isolated place, with nothing else but them. The music should represent that. This composition in the music has way too many elements and is all over the place. And the volume way to high
Imagine this fight but obi wan kills Anakin, Darth never met His sons, Palpatine Is the enemy, Luke defeat Palpatine and he becomes the last Jedi and ends the order Jedi and the empire right there... Just imagine.
