Tyler, your skill at drawing circles is so satisfying! Haha
I was in your seminary class in high school, I knew you were a great teacher then and was so excited to find you teaching on here. So awesome to be learning from you again! Amazing lessons and so beneficial and educational for our family. My teenagers haven't enjoyed their scripture lessons this much in a while! Really feel the Spirit through your lessons. Thank you!

Many many thanks Taylor and Tyler for the time and effort you put into these lessons. I truly did especially appreciate today’s lesson. I have been following your lessons for a few months now and am extremely thankful to you . I live in the State of Victoria Australia and am a member of the church as are my brother in law and sister who have recently settled back in Australia but in another State. We use messenger daily to study the BOM together and they as I am are delighted to know about your site. We are all grateful to you and your families. We are learning so much from you both. Many thanks again , and many blessings to you all.🙏🏻😁

Thank you, dear Brothers. Every one of your videos is a spiritual feast. There is so much to learn! Today, the last words about our Savior helped me in a faith test I'm blessed to be having. And for some reason I remembered the principle of, "Are we not all beggars" in Mosiah, and then I thought of the moving poem, "The Touch of the Master's hand." We all depend upon the Master's hand in every moment; we "need Him every hour."

Thank you both for your lesson again today. I was spiritually edified and know many people are, particularly at this time of Covid restrictions necessitating limited church attendance. Coincidentally, I am currently reading The Screwtape Letters where Screwtape talks about our human peaks and troughs. I lost two children and my experiences in those troughs were exactly as you remind. We feel the Saviour has withdrawn but He is actually very closeby. When we draw on past experiences and reach the point of ‘E’en though He slay me, yet will I trust Him’ we are able to move forward strengthened and comforted.

This is now my favorite session. Although, it changes every week because I love them all! We have so enjoyed your videos. Setting the wars played out on the map has brought to life the magnitude of all they were facing. The pride cycle - I have never thought of it in such terms, and having the ability to split it up to be on the celestial cycle is such a great concept. Thank you and your team for continuing to bring such amazing insights to the gospel and for tying the Book of Mormon experiences to our lives today.

Dear Brother Halverson, I struggle to know how to help poor, needy relatives, who cry out for help-they know the church is true but will NOT attend church, serve in callings, pay tithing, etc. That they could do to better themselves.....How do I help them in the Lords way other than express love, encouragement etc?
They will NOT act and I worry now when we help, if it’s enabling them in their struggles... I so struggle because I love them so much and I think now that they are not ready to progress and that I should just leave them to struggle...🤷‍♀️until they are ready to reach out in physical ways to manifest their faith(like sup with the Saints) They are awesome sweet people, who use blame of not perfect Members as an excuse.....any ideas?

I think that GRATITUDE is what breaks the prosperity cycle. If we count our blessings, acknowledge the hand of the Lord, and always thank Him, pride will not set in. I think of N. Eldon Tanner who was a multi millionaire and the CEO of one of the largest oil companies in the world. Even with all that money and worldly power, President Tanner remained humble and a valiant servant of God, who always showed gratitude to the Lord and kept all of his covenants.

By the time of Lehi's day the "r" in Nefer was often dropped so you'd get Nefe or Nephi. www.fairmormon.org/conference/august-2019/laman-and-nephi-as-key-words

I like the discussion of Nephi and Laman’s names and how they might be descriptors as opposed to actual given names. One aspect of that possible truth that is intriguing is how people become “-ites” by attaching themselves to the descriptors. I become a “Laman-ite” if I choose not to believe. I become a “Nephi -ite” if I choose to believe and seek truth. As a child of God with the power to choose, I can maneuver myself into either one of those descriptors and may even oscillate between them at times. When you view the names as descriptors, it seems to me that the importance of liberty and agency become clearer and more available to all, regardless of being born in Zarahemla or the land southward.

I liked what you said about pride being unable to enter into the church except by entering into the hearts of its members. Reminded me of the vision of the tree of life and how the great and spacious building, the pride of the world, the voices from there tried and succeeded in some cases to get into the hearts of those who had partakes of the fruit and then fell away.

I hope they continue to call upon God rather than say He has deserted me.Because He has done no such thing. There are some beautiful songs that I find uplifting. There is usually someone to help so we turn outward rather than sit in sympathy for ourself but it is good to be still and know that He is with us. Thanks for this feedback. The Gospel is not intended to be complex. If it seems that way someone probably has not done a good job of teaching. :)

The contrast between secret combinations and sacred covenants concerning the focus is the same as the difference between leaders who serve and those who reign (like in terror). This is very much like what we are seeing in the days leading up to the second coming of Christ.

Thanks so much for your lesson. Especially thanks for pointing out the remember in Moroni 10:3. I missed this through the many times I read this verse.

My husband and I have learned so much from your insights. In fact my husband, who is a Stake Patriarch, stated more than once that; "Oh I didn't know that or I didn't understand that concept in that way." He is very knowledgeable in the scriptures so I compliment you on your presentations. We enjoy watching and gaining more understanding from your lessons. Thank you!

Truly love each and every week of the Insights. My wife and I can truly feel the spirit when you both are sharing with us the insights from each week. You always give us background and also something to think about in our own lives each week. We hope that both of you will continue to do this as we go to Doctrine & Covenants next year. Please don't stop. We look forward to this every week to enhance our studies.

Just a personal thought on the cross over of the Lamanites becoming more righteous than the Nephites. I wasn't raised in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I didn't grow up understanding gospel things and made many mistakes, committed grievous sins, and had a hard life. When I was introduced to the church I had my own personal experiences that I could look back on. My life was spared on more than one occasion by our Savior, Jesus Christ. I could see so clearly the stark contrast of my life without following Christ's teachings and one with Jesus in my life. He was always there for me even when my own behavior didn't warrant His love and mercy.
