- On May 5, 2012, Delaware Train Videos takes a trip to Cumberland, MD. In the wee hours of the morning, we head to Sandpatch, PA to catch some CSX action at Sandpatch Tunnel. In the late morning, we head back to Cumberland to catch the 734 hauling the first passenger train of the season up to Frostburg. Once there, we'll chase 734 as she heads back to Ridgely, WV light.
Excellent video, Steve! Thumbs up and a fav!
beautiful video!
oh ok. Thanks!
She was having replacement parts put on. They didn't want her to fly down the hills as she was wearing a temporary part.
I counted at least seven bicyclists in that video. Most of them are riding the GAP trail, which follows the Western Maryland railroad's cut. I'm not local, so I don't know what it's doing for your local economy, but it's bringing at least myself and a few neighbors of mine out, come summertime. We aim to spend at least a night in the area, spend a fair amount on food, laundry, entertainment, etc., and heck, I want to ride that steam train. This undeniably will will help, right?
Not sure. I'm from Delaware, So is Steve.
Awesome! Why was #734 running on her own?
I think he doesn't like where they grew up. Neat vid, though. Gonna ride through the GAP trail on bicycle. Is it possible to actually get a connection and ride part of the GAP along that steam train?
Just curious.
is that the old IC boatwhistle i hear?
at the end of the video?
