    Ah yes finally. Explosia next. Absolute banger that. Great work mate!
    Also, I'd recommend that with bands like Gojira that you don't do lyric videos since it can be very distracting from the music itself like it seemed in this video. The riffs are just killer and the voice acts as an enhancing instrument, so best not to let the words mislead you sonically from the track as a whole.

    • @arekb5951
      @arekb5951 Před 4 lety +4

      Songs of this kind usually take me 3 or 4 listens to isolate every instrument in my mind and put it back together as a whole piece that I can entirely understand and appreciate. There's too many things happening just for one listen.

    Many times I was walking home at night listening to this album and when this song came up I would literally walk with my eyes closed. Especially when this part came on ( 6:10 ), for me the fast guitar riff almost sounded like an orchestra of violins. I know, it sounds weird, but it was so easy for my mind to "translate" that riff into a violin sound by the way it's all flowing flawlessly.

    Siiick thanks for this, this song embodies my travels skating or biking miles in 110 degree weather in arizona to school singin this shit alot. About the songs that seem somewhat filler in mind, these always were kinda less in demand on the playlist, but in time you learn to like different songs, I started out only listening to the first 3 albums, now I love everything.

  • @kylereece1979
    @kylereece1979 Před 4 lety

    Love the honest, realist thoughts, mo chara. No point in batein' about with saying you love it upon initial hearing, like some reaction videos get up to. If the vocals aint yer cúpan tae, then theres something else to perhaps look forward to in Gojira's songs, be it the precise hammerings of percussion, or the slice n' dice actions of the Gojira Slide choppin' up the carnage in the riffs. I will suggest Trivium again to ya again, mate. "What the dead men Say" is their brand new album- and the song itself is utterly excellent. Right off the bat theres riffs racing with power and groove. A catchy vocal hook reels and rushes you in, making way for a huge chorus. Great singing and occasion batterings of shouting to compliment eachother. Massive massive melodic guitar solos- unreal musicianship. And! The main riff in the beginning has the Gojira Slide swooshing through it. Stay safe,mate.

    if you want something more unique from them, their early stuff is very different from their sound on from mars to sirius onwards. Space Time, Love, Rememberance, Satan is a Lawyer, Fire is Everything are all very unique and very good. also Adoration for None has a guest feature from Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe and its the heaviest song of all time. last recommendation is The Fall, from L’Enfant Sauvage. very heavy, very underrated

    Hey Drew! While it seems you got used to harsh vocals now, have you ever put your hands on the (sadly disbanded) american post metal heroes "Isis" ? if not, this is something you should put on your todo-list, cause musically they are close to Tool (atmosphere, intensity, built up, full tilt climax and mood changes) without copying the typical Tool sound.
    3 songs i'd recommend to do first (gives a quick view on their musical range):
    1. Celestial (The Tower)czcams.com/video/DWLNYjE9_Vw/video.html
    2. False Lightczcams.com/video/G5u10uyU_jE/video.html
    3. Threshold of Transformationczcams.com/video/NtBlW-soukA/video.html
    while these aren't necessarily their best tracks (as usual you ask 10 different people to gain 10 different favorites...) these are undeniable highlights in their catalogue. and they have much more of this caliber. :)

    Oh man, you like guitar riffs and groove, Mastodon have them both in loads :)
    Halloween is a great jumping off point, the last two albums have cleaner vocals and are, dare I say it, easier listening :) than the earlier stuff.
    Jaguar God is the kind of music that I didn;t think got made anymore and The Last Baron has a real beauty of a riff.

    Very strange but Gojira is one of the only metal bands to make me go through a full range of emotions. Some of their lyrics create such a pit in your heart, both good and bad sometimes. They get the bigger picture. It's almost a meditation at certain points.

    Man luckily I sometimes use a VPN to watch a show blocked in France because your Gojira reactions are also blocked in France! Don't know why :(
    But at least they show up when I switch my vpn on 😇
