About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

This is a breath of fresh air, I love her approach to success by not stepping on people on your way up. And that you should work on yourself for yourself instead of comparing yourself to people that have different journeys, struggles and demons than you.
This is exactly what I needed after graduating with an engineering degree and not wanting to pursue a career in that field. Self-awareness is key and one should try to be a better person than they were yesterday.

Idle video watching (either on tv or internet) and video games are the number one addiction among kids (as well as some adults) It's worst than the drugs because they can't admit that they have the problem.

I clapped this lady when she said create instead of compete... after all the struggles she's been she did not become a selfish competitive destructive person. It reminds me one of the habits of highly effective people... win-win and the principle of abundance, yep, there can be success for everybody, we all can shine XD. She could have said "I've suffered so much, I need this for me, I deserve this more than others, me me me". I've seen in life and at work how people is struggling to be above others at all costs, a few work hard to be 'superior' (being above others instead of doing a good job) and they focus on the disgrace and failure of the others...

It was so impressive to hear that success is an opportunity for those who are ready to catch it, and to prepare in advance , rather than just waiting for the opportunity to come. I also wanted to applaud the persistence of making tapes and sending own videos to broadcasting stations with the passion to achieve your dream that becoming an international journalist on CNN. And the words “trust your stuggle” was really touching. Additionally, the saying that the present hardships are become beneficial was amazing! At 41 years, I've been through a lot and have constantly wondered when the struggle would come to an end...when I would have that breakthrough I pray so hard for...well, I don't actually pray for the breakthrough, I pray for the strength to go the distance, to get through the hard times...which I know builds character...but I'm still waiting for the breakthrough, just need to focus on creating IT for myself and trusting the struggle to yield the goodness!

She possesses a deep wisdom that is so rare. Absolutely agreed with and loved everything she said!! The struggles are what make us appreciate the rewards and achievements more fully than if we'd just been given what we wanted right away. And it's a universal law that, to have the things u want come into your life, u have to be willing to give so that u are open to receive.. whatever emotional energy we send out into the universe is what we inevitably attract into our reality.

The first Ted X talk that I've listened to twice.
I don't believe in competition either which is why I only compete with myself. Yes, I've helped others succeed even at my detriment. Another lesson, success comes when opportunity meets preparation. Last lesson, give freely without expecting any reward. Life is a journey, not a means to an end.

Such an inspiring share, I will also refer to this TED talk especially in those moments when I feel like I am losing hope. Sometimes, we lose focus of what we want when we stare at failed opportunities and setbacks instead of pressing forward and preparing for the bigger opportunities that lie ahead. Awesome talk! Thanks Zain

What a thoughtful insight " Trusting your struggles"
By listening to her , it made me realise that generally we tend to wait for an interview call then start preparing; however we should prepare ourselves each day for that right opportunity.

I have about one year left to finish college in management like hundreds and hundreds of other people just in my country and I feel so lost because I don't know what I'm passionate about it and I'm always scared to waste more of my time, this really puts into perspective exactly that. I have to be ready, create what I want.

"Trusting your struggle " has nothing to do with luck. It actually has more to do with faith. She succeeded because she set out to succeed, not willing to quit or waver; faith, hope, trust and giving played a major part in her success. No time for luck, believe and receive....
