Please keep uploading you’re content is great, quick question, im 23 and drove a 26ft flat bed for a year and currently driving a 28ft box truck for about a year as well delivering commercial AC units to job sites and hooking them up to mobile cranes , I want to get my class a or b and get into driving dump trucks, I have the money saved up for the classes but always wondered if my current driving history counts as “commercial driving” cuz most of the places hiring around me ask for 1-2 years of commercial driving experience along with a cdl. Or does it need to be 1-2 years of dump truck driving experience specifically ???
Thank you! I believe commercial driving is when the vehicle has air brakes and a gross vehicle weight rating (gvwr) of 26,001lbs and above. I would talk to someone at the company you're trying to get hired with after you get your cdl and let them know about your experience. I was hired without any commercial experience with this small company, so it's possible to get a job without any.
@@sidbrant both the 26ft flatbed & the 28ft box truck had a gvwr of 26000 with air brakes but thanks for the info I’ll look around and speak to employers & see who would give me the opportunity

It really depends on the company, but probably somewhere around $20 per hour where I'm at
