- This is the story of crossing the famous Kalindi Khal (pass). Kalindi is one of the highest mountain pass (5947m/ 19488ft) in Garhwal Himalaya as well as India. This pass connects Gangotri with Badrinath. We, 8 members of our mountaineering club "ONLY TREK", have scaled this pass on the month of September, 2019. This video is not only about technical detail of that trek, but about depicting the story of it. I sincerely hope that all viewers will enjoy this video as a thrilling story of Himalayan trekking.

A very well made documentary Gourab. Enjoyed every moment of it. Crisp video quality and beauty of this route made it a delight to watch it. Congratulation on finishing it. A new ropeway at Bhojwasa is a welcome change as it will make reaching Tapovan easier. It was being demanded for quite sometime. I wish I could "like" it more than once.
One legend complimenting the other legend .. you both are awesome!
I trekked up to Gaumukh Glacier in 1984 .No such facilities were there in those days as are seen now a days .I am grateful to you for making such a beautiful video of the trek of Kalindi Khal . Indeed a very good video !

Hello Gaurab, a very well done video with superb quality. It will be perfect documentation for those who intend to do this expedition seriously. Sadly this year(2019) the weather had been very gloomy and adverse almost until Diwali. However, your team seems to have got a perfect window throughout.
On the technical aspect of the photography, Is it originally shot in 4K? What gear have you used? Kindly suggest.

Thanks Girish. I used a GoPro Hero 7 black throughout the trek. It was mounted on a hand held mini stick. Otherwise I had used the head mount once during the steep climb using the rope. The video was originally shot in 1080p. 4K mode will drain battery in half an hour and video stabilization is not available in 4K mode in GoPro.

15:26, the peaks are Bhagirathi II and III in view. Bhagirathi I is behind III which is not in the image.
15:36, Behind Kharchakund it isn't Chaukhamba. Chaukhamba will be way farther in the left - south east direction of the frame, along the Gangotri glacier. The one seen could be Sumeru.

@@ramblersnook You are right Girish. I made mistake in narration. During editing I tried to make voice over, but it was not sounding nice. So I left it reluctantly. Thought It's very cloudy anyway to see the peaks clearly. Nobody will bother to verify. But I see you are very thorough in observation. Thanks for your feedback. Next time I will be more careful.

Last time when I was there was in 2012. That time the entire right side of the bhagirathi river leading upto gaumukh used to be completely covered by ice. There was no space to walk there and no concept of ropeway etc either. Now I see a lot which has changed there. Amount of ice is also far far less ! Sad thing.
