I love this woman she actually cares about helping someone not begging for views she is already really rich she made this channel to care for othe God would keep blessing this lady I wish her the best in life
Thank you so much Danny for your kind comment and for watching, I so appreciate it :)
Sending you positive vibes! xxx
Your welcome have a nice day xxx
I realised that it is better to save up and buy luxury bags that you can resell, because the last couple of years I wasted so much money on cheap crap which I couldn't even wear for a long period of time because the quality was so bad, that I realised with all that money I could have easily bought at least one or two really nice designer bags from Chanel or LV which last for ages and that you can sell for the same or even a higher price, since the prices increase for some models over time. Luxury items which you buy smart aren't a waste of money, they are an investment. You can even pass them down to your children or nieces one day :)
Elisabeth Victoria true say me too I regret even my Micheal Kore’s
I really wanted to share my tips with you on saving - saving can be soooo hard (and kinda boring) - but these tips have worked for me over the years, and I hope they work for you too :)
And please let me know anything you do that you find helps, I'm always looking for new saving tips! xxx
+Tatiana Sirbu agreed. She's amazing!
Where did you get the pink money book
+Sophie Shohet | Fashion Beauty Lifestyle Can I just say that this video has really helped me! I just got a credit card due to poor money management (bad, bad, bad I know) but after seeing this video, I have returned all my reckless buys, about to sell all my unworn clothes and just live within my means! You have no idea how much this video has helped me! Instead of buying a £145 bag, I am buying a £30 bag, its not a big deal but to me it is literally slashing my costs down! AND IT IS THANKS TO YOU AND THIS VIDEO! LOVE YOU!!
You should do a video for people who have just started a new job that pays well, how to budget you new money, save, invest etc! You are a star! love you and NEW NEW SUBBY!!
+Ambitious Panda I have also found this so helpful, thanks Sophie 😘🙏
I'm so grateful because your advices are not only really cleaver, but knowing that you never received all this, that you saved money too - just like "normal people" - make us be even more motivated to do so!
I was wondering if you always buy your luxury items in the official stores? Which online stores would you recommend ? (I remember you've mentioned in another video that you've once bought Louboutin online and in Euros)
Thanks again! xxx
Not only have you great fashion but you are so down to earth and real! And from what I can see very educated and I found this video so helpful thank you x
+Lilly Rose
Hello Lilly, thank you so much for the kind comment and for watching! :)
I am really so pleased that this was helpful to you. Happy saving!
Hugs xx 💋💋
If you're not good at keeping track of your spending, many banks allow you to download all you transactions into a spreadsheet. I do this each month, and add a new column for 'category' for example, 1=dinner out, 2=misc travel 3=makeup. Sometimes I really get a shock at what i've been spending my money on and makes it easier for me to cut down on unnecessary purchases the next month.
I am not into signature brands but I like your humility and honesty. Your saving tips are true too. Very practical. We have each of our own goals but you are right with the temptations and criticisms from others. Way to go girl! Kudos.
Btw, I use excel.
what the hell is humility????? LOL!!!!!!
+TheTruth
Fine... Maybe 'honest' is a more fitting word. ^__^
it means she's humble and down to earth
+The Truth Humilty is a real word. Not sure what confused you. Surely you would not be able to misunderstand a word like humility just because of the context in which it was used?
Money is like rain, how you arrange the guttering to save the rain in a bucket is the main thing.
Hi Sohpie! I have a trick that seems to work for me.
If I consider purchasing something that's not on my wishlist and do not go through with the frivolous purchase, I take the money I would have spent from my checking and put it into my savings. I get to my wishlist goal pretty quick that way. For example. If I see a dress that's $100 and I try it on and am on my way to the register to purchase, I put the dress back and transfer the money I would have spent on the dress to my savings.
Lastly, the day before I get paid, I transfer ALL money left in my checking to my savings.
+Brandi N Company That is such a good idea! I'm going to try that!
+Debra Thomas Eatmon Hi! I wish you luck. It sure works for me! Is there anything particular on your wish list?
-Brandi
Yes! I want to buy a home and get a newer vehicle. Thanks for the tip!
That’s such a good idea!
So true with your comment on how other people easily spend more money on going out or other things! I rarely buy drugstore makeup and save up for really high quality cosmetics. I know girls who buy around 10-15 lipsticks from drugstores every co month and that adds up to one high quality lipstick! That's why I went ahead and got a nude tom ford lipstick instead of 1000 revlon, rimmel, etc... lipsticks. I'm a student and a random thing I do to save money is I used to share textbooks with a friend and I would scan them into electronic files. textbooks are sooo expensive! Also had a friend who used to go on a bunch of dates to save money on food hahaha I've never done that but I still think its quite humorous and would work for some people
Thanks for the tips! And you're friend's quite funny lol
To be honest I have used high end and drug store make-up and sometimes the drug store make-up out preforms the high end. It just depends on the product- but if you find something that works well and its cheep- its all the better.
***** best formula for dry lips by far has to be Dior, but that's my personal preference. The Dior fluidsticks can even hid dry patches :)
A really good tip I learnt somewhere is to skim your bank account on a regular basis, so say you have £203.45 in your current account, take that £3.45 an transfer into your savings. You need to make sure you have enough for your bills and such obviously but you won't miss £3.45 most of the time and if you do it every week or even every month just before you get paid for instance, it really adds up! x
+Rachael Stevens Awesome idea Rachael!
Love this
seriously your gonna spend money either way you look at it so why not save up and spend it on something you love😊😊😊
"Don't buy anything that you don't love or need." Great advice! It's so much better to have a few nice things, instead of bunch of "ok" things that you might wear or use once.
Girl you are earning my respect more and more. It's so easy to write you off as just another chick who spends tons of money on bags but you have the brain and determination and mostly positivism.
When I get to a certain amount of savings I feel too bad for spending it and just and up not buying what iv been aiming for 😂
This is so trueee!! More when you have kids and feel guilty if you buy something for you instead for them.
never buy in impulse. I always wait a few days sometimes I really want something or think I do and then I wait and forget all about it and realise I don't really want it. I keep a wish list on my phone of things I want if I still want it I'll remember it by looking on there if I've forgot it I'll just delete it off and know I obviously didn't want it that bad
I live in Nashville where there are a lot of rich people who don't wear their designer bags, shoes and clothes more than once. We have a couple great high end consignment shops and I use them. Everything has been checked to make sure it is real. Saves me money.
What shops in Nashville? I pass thru there sometimes going to Kentucky
Simple Creations Private Label in Green Hills and Designer Renaissance in the Thousand Oaks Area off Thompson Lane are great!
I wish there was one near me 😊
i have noticed that once you begin to be conscience with your money and spend it wisely on things that u REALLY want, it gives u a really good feeling.. and u want to keep doing it, its fun.
I’ve just found your channel and I’m OBSESSED, I’ve always felt like an overly ambitious person but also felt like I’ve got a lot of obstacles in my path! But I take risks and they’ve paid off so far, thanks for motivating me to take things to the next level, I love all your videos that I’ve watched today!!! 💖
"Omg i say a prayer before opening my online account" Hilarant!!!
Hi Sophie, your advice is timeless and you just earned a new subscriber from Singapore! Considering the fact that this video dates back April 2016, it goes to show how thoughtful and relevant this video continues to help and inspire others. Thank you for spreading your positivity and personal knowledge with others. More people should be watching this and learn from you!
Omg! I love that you log everything! My husband has been logging for 24 years, hoe much he makes each month and what we spend on! When I saved for my three Chanel bags( I'm a stay at home mom) I cut every unnecessary item out, coffees at Starbucks, drugstore purchases that are small and needless, etc, I saved for each bag and it's not that hard, it's easy because we don't go out too much and people can really do it if they set their mind to it! Good for you!!
Btw, we paid off our house in 17 years instead of 30, from cutting out 👍🏻😁
This video is exactly what I need at the moment, I'm try to save up for my first LV
Hello, if you are interested in pre loved LV they are many sites that you can purchase from..Its affordable:-) & 100% authentic..I am looking for specific discontinued, limited pieces too. Hope you get your LV soon😍
Thank you, do you know of any UK websites?
I'll email you the info if that's ok :-)
Hey Sophie! I've recently discovered your channel and I have been binging on your videos. Love what you're doing, it's so refreshing to find other professional young women on YT that have their act together and are enjoying the fruit of their hard work! I've recently gotten into luxury goods and I'm learning a lot from your experiences and reviews so thank you very much! xx
What i love the most is .... you are extremely grounded and humble ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The vision board is an excellent tip! Coincidentally, I actually started one of these yesterday, and I'm already noticing a change in my spending pattern after just one day. I skipped my morning latte, took my own lunch to work, and cooked myself dinner instead of going out. These money savers, multiplied over the course of a few months, will definitely help me save the money necessary for my next luxury purchase!
+Matt C It's dope that you have already made changes.
Sophie, your videos are so different from the rest - REAL information and guidance.
I'm about to graduate from university and your vlogs are enabling me to create a solid plan of action.
Thank-you!
I AM VOTING FOR YOU!
Hi Sophie! New subbie here. You deserve so many more subscribers, I've been binge watching your videos and loving your content. I've even started playing your videos while driving in traffic. Helps to while away the time AND I'm learning so much and you're so watchable and lovely 💕💕 xx
Even though you now can afford to buy whatever you want, you’re still a down to earth lady.
I may never own an expensive bag, but I love watching your videos, you are a real sweetheart.
I love you channel, and your accent! Yes, I'm trying to get better with saving for those special goodies. These are great tips!
You are, without a doubt, absolutely brilliant! That's exactly what I do to save money. I believe in visualisation and although I haven't got a visual board, I do have a Wishlist with pictures in it on my phone and oh god it does help! I managed to get my collection in only 2 years just by saving, visualising and staying focused. Absolutely loved this video👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you so much for making this video. I'm a new subscriber and I think you're a very down to earth, genuine person. My husband and I have been trying to save up for our first family
home and it's been a challenge. Really appreciate sharing your tips and experience. Sending my
love from California:)
Finally a youtuber that I can relate to! Independent, self made, and loves Chanel!
That was such a helpful video! Thank you so much! I'm currently paying off so much debt but I stumbled onto your channel by accident and I'm so happy that I did :) keep up the good work girl!
I've been out of college for over a year and money is definitely an issue for me. My type of job can pay quite high, but since I'm a Jr. my pay is on the extreme lower side of the spectrum. I have to put nearly 75% of my monthly paycheck towards bills and paying off debt. That leaves me only a bit of money to pay for food..and I can't even think about trying to save up for anything until the debt is cleared! To this day, I still believe that I have to live like I'm a poor college student again. Though, seeing your video definitely puts my mind at ease a little bit since you went through this and came out like a champ! Just gotta keep moving forward right : )
Great video! I appreciate they way you did without being judgmental towards yourself or others 👍🏻
She is the best on CZcams. I can't be bothered to follow or subscribe to any other person now.
I love Sophie. I love the way she talks and explains everything . She is REAL. AND GENUINE. I WISH SHE WAS MY FRIEND! I wish I knew her in my years previously . I learnt so much from watching her videos
Every video she does has something useful I can take away from it . She has positive vibes. She is one of those people I can listen to all day and still not get bored or fed up. Her idea about writing things in a notebook and listing spending habits - I'm so going to do this. Simple yet effective ideas. And she has great taste in clothes and bags and shoes and she is so honest and transparent. She is my favourite CZcamsr in the whole world. Keep doing what you do Sophie
You are wonderful and amazing. Love you so much. Xxxx
Highway 211 - OH MY WORD 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 thank you so much for watching and taking the time to leave such a lovely comment 🥰 I am fortunate to have a really nice group of you all on here who tune-in. I’m really lucky and I love having you all as my Internet friends 😊🙏🏽
The notebook thing really works! It can be a bit of a faff at first, but it really lets you see what you’re spending I always think it’s not the expensive purchases that are the killer, it’s all of the little ones that add up to the big numbers! I hope you continue to enjoy it here my friend xxxx😘😘😘😘💖💖💖
Thanks for this, you seem awesome I am young with a minimum wage job and get paid weekly with varying hours. However this has made me think more about not buying random small things. I just subscribed yesterday and subsequently feel inspired.
I love the visualisation idea! I am definitely going to try this as i'm currently also saving up for a luxury handbag! x
Hi Sophie ❤️ from another Sophie , I found you this morning from one of your bag VDO and I can't stop listening to you. You are incredible and you are like my wake up call to remind myself of what's my plans and goals in life and yes .... we can do it. Hugh thanks Sophie ... I am your big fan now 👍❤️
you are one of my inspirations.. especially in saving and buying a luxury product that have caught my eye and really really want it xxx
I really love how your videos are so informative & you give out great advice ! One of my favourite CZcamsrs 😄💕
I am totally subscribing. You've provided me with so much motivation. I definitely love your style.
You are so relatable but at same time materially more advanced than your watchers= success!! Wishing you millions of subscribers, you come through as a lovely person !
You are lovely Emma - thank you for the lovely comments :)
Wishing you a lovely week!xx
Thank you so much for those tips. I'm 31 and only last month did I get a credit card. I'm pretty good about my money but until now, I never had the courage to save for something really big. Next summer, I'll be riding my new killer motorcycle! I decided on how to get there because of you, you are so lovely and helpful. I'll buy the kick ass helmet first and look at it every day, until I save enough! Wish me luck:)
The last few months I had started putting all my change that was in my purse in a money box, from £2 coins to penny's, and within 3 months I had around £200!
Also it helps me if I take out say £50 a week use that for food (lunches, dinners) and travel (I only use busses here and there).
Definitely going to try your money diary! Love your channel xx
i am so glad i discovered you sophie! i love your style and your advice videos. keep the good work up xx
Great tips. I have trouble saving for reasons you describe in this video. I’m super excited to try these tips!
I recently started watching your videos and when I saw the title of this one I decided to see if there will be anything that can help me save money and this video is just great. I just started my first money diary and I can't wait to see how it will work for me :)
Hello Aga and welcome :)
I hope this helps - the money diary was a game changer for me personally. It somehow made money management and saving more fun and less of a chore. Good luck!! xx
Great video. I've just bought a Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 in Damier Ebene by saving up. I'll read stuff on Issuu rather than buy a magazine, go to the library rather than buy books. Make my own coffee with Nespresso or but something in Waitrose and get a coffee with MyWaitrose card. I have a capsule wardrobe now, which has helped me save a lot and not waste money on fashion faux pas! Love your videos.
Oh my gosh, this was so helpful. The panic attack before logging in to my bank account is ridiculous! I wonder if my bank will text me my balance. The struggle is real. LOL. Thank you for the positivity and motivation. (You should know that I've been watching CZcams videos FOR YEARS, and I've never once commented on a video until now). Keep up the good work.
I love videos like this, I'm in my 2nd year of uni, next year I'm on a placement year and i've worked out i'll be able to put away £100 a month to save towards my first chanel! Videos like this motivate me even more! X
+Rosie Kate Turner
That is brilliant Rosie!!! £100 a month and you'll be in Chanel in no time!
Thank you so much for watching and happy saving sweetie! xo
Totally love the energy in your videos very motivating 💖! Getting a money diary NOW... The weird thing i used to keep a money diary all throughout my 4 years at uni for each and every single penny and when i think back i have actually got waaaaaay better use of my money (the barely enough for my fees and expenses) and actually have saved for more things than four years at my current job !!!! which sounds ridiculous to me!!!!!!! Total alarm went off in my head right now THANK YOU SOPHIE....! One last thing which i have done the last few months with savings is that after i round up roughly what my spending is for a month plus minus any extra things i need to buy i.e. gifts and what not... I have literally transferred the remaining savings straight to my savings account as sooon as i get my paycheck... Hehehe i should not kid my self if i keep it ill probably put less away! Soooorry for the ramble LOTS OF LOVE xxxxx
I am a woman who has struggled with saving money my whole life. Thank you so much for the wonderful informative video. I could really relate to a lot of the experiences with money you spoke about. Thankfully I have recently become more disciplined with my hard earned money and now I have more savings than I have ever had. Please more videos like this in the future. I am so happy I found your channel. New subbie :)
No idea how I got on your page, but I'm really enjoying you talk about things, that are not even relevant to me haha.....xxx
As a young person I LOVE LOVE LOVE !! watching your vids they are so motivational 👍🏾 Please make more 🙂
Great Video Sophie, these are fabulous tips. I have been selling on eBay for just over 1 year. I also keep all of my receipts and I try and write down every thing I spend. When you know where your money is going, it is so much easier to save.
Thank you for sharing your tips, I love watching your videos and reviews of all the bags and shoes you have.
Such good advice! I appreciate you tackling these more serious topics as it balances out the fun luxe videos :)
xo from Germany
I just want to share that you were able to get the message across to someone half way around the world from where you are. Its as if you were talking directly to me. This video is relevant.
Great video Sophie,I had a good sort through last year and my eBay sales paid for my Birkin. It's surprising how quickly I achieved my goal. After watching your Porsche vlog I'm now looking myself it was really helpful xx
I have been meaning to make an inspiration/motivation board ever since I saw one in the background of your videos! It is such a great idea!
Fantastic. I have different savings for different thins e.g. Personal things, car maintenance, Christmas fund/ birthdays and home fund. I do a budget every month too. It really helps
I am so glad I have run into your channel!!
Your channel is growing 😄I need to learn how to save money because I spend too much for things I don't really need. Thx for the tips.
Great tips!! I also keep a spending diary! Years ago when I was on a diet the weight watchers motto was if you nibble scribble! So write down everything... I then put myself on a financial diet and do the exact same! It's shocking where we don't notice money wasted! Best of luck with the chanel, I think I'm on track for my Alma BB in June if I change my car next month! Always something to save for! X
Fab tips! Thanks for sharing. I'm still learning how to manage my money and I'm in my late 20s! I can totally relate to that feeling of panic logging onto online banking!! x
This was so helpful Sophie! Definitely going to use these tips x
Girrl your the best I was trying to see how I can save for a Chanel and Hermes bag. Your tips are great thanks for sharing stay blessed!!!
Love this video!! So motivating! We are currently saving for a house deposit- the end feels do far away but worth every penny!
Liked before even watching !!! I love you vids gal xx
Superb video Sophie and this is my 1st time commentating (or perhaps 2nd time).. You seem genuine and "no fake" like many other CZcamsr girls on here. Great advices really.. I can exactly relate to u about the Boots issue small spendings adding up so that stopped and I only do all my shopping at the discount market around the corner that is so much cheaper and got everything I need from skin care to food and home utilities.. One thing I won't cut down is my quality of food since am dieting every days but still I get plenty there for a 3 days food market. So except for my gym membership that is only 15€ a month I dont really spend anything else ah yes Proteins powder and other needed fitness supplements but really beside these am keeping the money tightly.
Great great video.
The visualisation board is such a great idea! Definitely going to try it out! Thank you. Xx
i feel you girl, i was in my skinniest when i was in uni cuz i couldnt even buy decent food, the struggle was real, i laugh looking back realizing how awful i was when it comes to budgeting! ur amazing by the way xx
This was soo helpful!! I love your videos so much!
So helpful! I've just started to save up for a house in the last few weeks. I literally write down everything I buy in a day in the notes section on my phone, (sounds tedious) but it's a great way to see where your money goes. Plus it makes you question, do I REALLY need to buy it, the answer is usually no. I also set a budget of £10 per day. Which I try to stick to, but it can be hard sometimes...
Thank you so much for posting! So helpful and not only in how to save for luxe. New subbie and this video made me do it!!!
Watching some of your older videos! Thanks for this!
You gave some great tips! Automatic deposit works great because you don't have to manually do it. Since I work for myself as a Realtor I deposit commission checks and my bank automatically takes out a certain amount to put in my savings so I don't have to think twice about it. I also take my money and split it up by that I mean that I also put some in a personal checking, my business account which cashes the check and then I take out cash to carry for emergencies. I also make sure before I go to the store or get out my car or start shopping in the store or online to shop I check for coupons and coupon codes for savings. I never go food shopping hungry and I only carry cash for groceries instead of my bank card so I'm not tempted to go over budget and never go hungry.
Just found you and I've been binge watching your videos, I love YOU
I love your tips on saving. I do a lot of them already and it's nice to know that some of the things I do to save also works for somebody else =) Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Sophie! I have started a money journal. Great idea!
For people with smaller scale budgets, I'd highly recommend the app Digit! It saves small bits of money, with every transaction you make. And You can adjust how aggressive it is. I've consistently saved about 100-150 a month without even noticing! The nice thing is it is a little bit more discreet too so rather than knowing what you have and being tempted to spend, it just does all the work for you!
Hi im a new suby i fell accross one of your other videos and im now going through them all lol you are such a nice genuine person! Im subscribed to so many youtubers i dont know why ive never came accross yours but so glad i did. You and your husband seem so nice and looking forward to more videos from you 😃 love from Scotland x
Great video!! Can't live without my money diary :) I love the board idea.. I might make one
Some really great tips! Thanks for the vid. 😊
Thanks Sophie. Amazing advice! I'm usually great at saving, but I don't usually document it. So I'm now considering getting me a money diary as well!
Love it!I try to give myself a weekly cash allowance and limit myself to that when saving.handing over cash is a lot harder than using a card!
Sophie LOVED this video, it was so helpful! Glad I'm to here that I'm not the only one that has that feeling of dread when they look at their balance 😣
thank you for sharing these tips! they are so helpful
Wonderful tips, Sophie!! I use pinterest as my visual board and it has worked out well for me. Honestly, I add and subtract things all of the time from my wish list. lol. By the way, I love the way you structure and organize all of your videos. They are well thought out and organized. I enjoy all of them. :) xx
This was very helpful! So hooked on your videos xx
I came across ur page today and you are brilliant, luv ur personality and videos x
Brilliant video! Thanks Sophie! You've got me motivated 👍🏽
Such a relevant and productive video. The more people think this way about their money the better they will feel. It is so true that everyone can afford everything, it just takes some of us longer to get it. And if it takes you longer to get you are more grateful for it and cherish it more :)
Very good money tips and great reminders how money goes fast!xx
I love the idea of the visual board. Thanks.
I love tip # 5!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Your videos really inspired me to save, strive for success and be fashionable while being independent as well! It's so awesome and thank you so much!!!!! 🌸🌺🌹🤗
Thank you so much for the great tips and tricks Sophie, you inspire me with every video you upload.. I truly hope to be as successful as you are when I get older 💕💸💃🏻
Thank you for this! So helpful and motivating! Trying to focus on saving for my first designer handbag! Wish me luck!
