@delnacarruthers9335 I was having the same problem. I started drinking 1 cup of hibiacus tea with a dime sized amount of stevia for a month now. Plus I've been walking an hour a day. My bp is finally within normal range, and I've been hypertensive for years. I was on bp meds for 6 years, and I fixed it in a MONTH!
Do me a favor and thank me later, but please remember to comment here because I'd love to hear if it worked for you! Get a box of Stevia in the raw. If you don't like it, I get it, I can't stand it myself, but hear me out. Get Stevia in the raw (That brand in particular because it doesn't contain erythritol...) just 1 box. If you're able, also grab a box of hibiscus tea. If not, green tea is fine. Stretch out 1 packet of stevia to make it last for 3 to 4 days. Just a dime sized amount in your tea once each morning. Then check your bp 3 days after starting to do this. Then please comment back here about your results! It'll continue to get better after 3 days.

In June 2018, I saw vids about metabolic syndrome. Told my husband we had to try dropping the high carbs, just give me 12 weeks all in and if it doesn’t work, you can eat bread and pasta again. 4 days in, I was dizzy from my bp dropping and still taking bp med. Dropped the med, called my dr’s office to advise. Looked up keto and hypertension and all this info was there. 10 years on bp med, doc only said lose weight. Cut fat, increased grains and everything was worse. Found keto and could not believe the immediate changes. By the way, keto also reversed my husbands 4x high triglycerides, low HDL, fat gut, fatty liver and he dropped 26 lbs in 14 weeks. Was hopping mad that we have been lied to since the seventies. Standard American Diet is the biggest public health tragedy perpetrated on humans by bad science and corporate greed. Now I’m a keto coach, with a different doctor and feeling better at 57 than when I was 35. We also learned bread is addictive and pasta is really just a vehicle to get the beautiful sauce to your mouth. We make low carb bread subs with flax meal etc. We put our tomato or pesto sauce on zucchini, eggplant, spaghetti squash, ground beef, or on omelettes layered thin like lasagna with veggies between. Pasta is over rated.

This Doctor is absolutely right. My Mom ( now deceased) was on high blood pressure meds for 35 years. When the pill 💊 became ineffective, they actually put her on sodium drip,,, saying she was badly dehydrated. What sarcasm?? Mom died in a coma from low blood pressure that they were now trying to increase by giving her NA ( sodium).

My sleep apnea, excess weight, allergies, constant gas, low energy, mood swings, and so on are gone. I haven't had any illness, any head or stomach aches or anything in 2 years. Similar situation. Always been passionate about nutrition and understanding how the body works. Tried so many various ways of eating (most of them for a month). Curiosity mostly, to see how they make me feels. But the more I tried and learned the more I gravitated towards keto where I spent a couple years. Carnivore remains somewhat new-ish to me. Learning so much new stuff here and from a couple others. Didn't think my skin could get any better than it already was on keto...what a pleasant little surprise ^^
Been trying with my parents for some four or five years. On the surface they seem to be interested in the topic and what I have to say. But they continue doing what their doctors tell them - low fat, low cholesterol foods, statins and the like.
On the other hand having much better success with my darlin. That makes me so happy...the thought of so many healthy decades left to spend together.

Amazing. After my heart attack 6 months ago, my cardiologist put me on a liter and half of water, no fat, no salt. I got worse. Became a carnivore, got off all my meds. But during some days I would eat insane amounts of chocolates and my heart pain and angina returned with a vengeance, I switched to 1 to 2 pounds of fruits here and there because it's "healthier". Same, I would have to go back on Beta blockers and bp meds. Doc said the same thing. There is too much salt in my diet, and I'm definitely wrong to eat red meat. Cut off all sugars, and I'm now able to even drink coffee!. My heart doesn't get bothered and no meds. I'm glad I found this video. My cardiologist is useless.

3 Months Later... I've struggled for over 9 months with High BP. It was hitting 180/120 type numbers.
Even fasting for 2-3 days would barely budge it!
So, I tried ONLY BEEF. I removed Pork and Dairy... After 7 days, My BP was coming down to the 13x/90 numbers. After 10 days it was 12x/8x numbers, and amazingly 2 weeks in... I had a few readings BELOW 120/80. All without drugs.
My ketone levels improved, I feel better... And to test it out. I had 6 oz of pepperoni at 7pm... My BP Shot up 25 points almost immediately, and stayed elevated for over 27 hrs. TWO Mornings after that, my BP was back down to normal. ONE DOSE. OMG.,
Christmas Eve, I had some bacon and Cheese at a small party... It took 7 days (until today) to get my BP back to normal.
Who would have thought. And I MUST eliminate BOTH. If I consume either, I end up with 15x/100 type numbers, consuming both is what pushed it up so high...
What blows my mind is that it takes so long for the body to reset, and remove whatever the problem is...
I am HAPPY to be going into 2021 having solved the LAST of the health issues... (The weight diet... Well, I have to be aware that I tend to USE/ABUSE food, so I have to follow pretty hard rules)... But I feel so good that I am not missing these things. why is bacon and cheese making your BP go up?

    • @kirkwolak6735
      @kirkwolak6735 Před 3 lety +1

@@glenns001 Great question... How the heck am I supposed to know?
I am going to assume it is inflammation. When you do food allergy testing, with the skin pricks... They look for inflammation as a sign of allergy.
I've tried beef + pork fat and had a reaction. So it's not just bacon. It's pork. And it's not just cheese, it's dairy. HWC triggers a reaction. In fact, my nose starts running if I have too much HWC at once.
So, I will assume it is just some kind of allergic reaction to dairy and pork.
But who knew this could drive your BP from 120s to 180??? (now it takes BOTH of them to get that high, I am around 158/160 with just one of them in my diet).
Therefore, I am also going to assume that whatever the mechanism, it is probably the same mechanism being made worse. But it could be a second mechanism (different types of inflammation).

My partner had low blood pressure and was often feeling dizzy, he cut his sugar intake to minimum (Keto diet), and added Himalayan salt to his diet, not only he lost weight but his blood pressure is up to normal level. These videos from Dr. Cywes are excellent as they are no nonsense, just concise facts what one can do to improve one's health.

I wish I found carniviore 15 years ago, I would have avoided two optic nerve aneurysms behind my eyes. I have been to 2 research cardiologists and one thinks I had a toxic pregnancy and now my hormones are confused blocking all high bp medications and my kidneys are toxic and GFR is between 40-62! I believe you doctor because you should seen his face when I told him I am on carniviore diet! All he could say you are getting older so its best to lose weight sooner than later!!!! 🦁

Injections for eyes are for macular degeneration. I had to see an optic nerve specialist because mine was behind the eye in the brain due to uncontrolled high blood pressure. My kidneys arecat Stage 3 due to damage of my uncontrolled blood pressure! I have been to two research doctors and the latest from Rochester Strong Memorial who worked with me to get it under 200/134, but the meds stop working after two months. He blames my hormones from blocking them to be utilized effectively. Crazy train I have been on and the stress in my life isnt great! Do you is my new motto! 🦁🖤🌿

I check my BP almost daily with a home unit. Amazed at how my BP has dropped the first half of 2020 compared to the same period 2019, after starting low carb/no sugar and 18:6 IF in Feb 2020. And I've added more salt to my daily meals in 2020 than I've done in several prior years combined. Hope to soon ditch the one pill I do take.

Thanks Doc, great talk! I flunked a navy flight physical when I was 20 years old do to high BP. Smoked and ate a huge amount of carbs. Somehow I made it to 75 and have been low carbing it for 10 years, no smokes either; BP is now close to 110/70 with no meds and i'm really glad to still be here! I think we need to spend a whole lot more effort towards teaching people how to be well when they're young, maybe some kind of incentive program too??

This is amazing! A few months ago I suspected carbs as the source of my hypertension. The exact same hallmarks. I went through test after test, scan after scan and they couldn't figure out what was causing it. I took it on myself to do a ten day sugar fast and consciously cutting back carbs and my blood pressure has been stable since. I even stopped one pill and cut one of my bills in half because I was going way too low! You're the only one that has a term for it!

Hello Dr. Cywes. Thank you for discussing this topic. I have "hereditary" hypertension. I am 48 and was found to have hypertension at age 17. I have always been a normal weight and active until I injured my back about 7 years ago. Iam overweight now. You (and my physician husband) convinced me to change my life. I have been eating clean Keto for 2 months now and hoping that this W.O.E. will help my body resolve the hypertension and allow me to decrease the dose, or stop, all of my anti-hypertension and diuretics/K+ meds. Thank you so much for all of your videos.

This is probably the most informative explanation of primary hypertension I've ever heard! I have been on BP medication for years, and it's not really working for me.
Recently I have cut out all sugar and grains, and also legumes. I have reduced carbs altogether and greatly increased my salt intake.
I didn't know that carbohydrates would trigger hypertension, and it's too soon to see results yet, but I'm hopeful 😊👍👍

Yes, I still take lisinopril for hypertension, but I'm seeing a steady downward trend...yesterday was 118/71, heart rate was 74. I try to pay close attention to body changes and noticed a slight craving for salty foods. I didn't give in to it b/c it's usually accompanied by lots of carbs. Just great to finally understand why and what to do! Thank you Dr. Cywes. Also seeing a slow but steady weight loss and now have energy enough to increase exercise. Very happy camper.

When you eat a low carb High/healthy fat diet, you need to increase your salt intake.
I don't like salty food, but I've found that if I put a little bit of salt into my sparkling water, it tastes better, and I'm getting the extra salt I need.
I grind enough for the day, so I know how much I'm getting, and just add small amounts to each glass of water I drink.
