Good vid. Hooked up my scanner and found battery good. And alternator pushing at 15. I got the ground in dash done and found this ground wire installed but it was super easy to brake loose. Popped it off sanded, cleaned it. Now truck cranks faster.

I had problems like this and it popping a stabilitrak code. I cleaned the grounds, did the stearing position sensor, and the dealer had it for 3 days and said it was a bad hub. None of this fixed the issue. I changed the negative battery cable which looked completely fine about 4 months ago and the problems have completely gone away. I just figured while i have a minute id comment this on some of this videos so it coule maybe help someone because nobody had any deffinite answers for me and it sucked

I'm in that exact same position. I've cleaned the grounds. I've purchased a new battery. For whatever reason the truck will still completely shut down some times. Usually if the air conditioner is on I'm slowing down and turning into a parking lot. It's like with the electronic steering it's drawing too many amps. The truck completely shut down today and if a car was pulling out of the parking lot I would have hit them head on! The only option I know left is to change the whole negative battery cable. Every time this has happened in the past, I have no power until I open up the hood and squeeze the negative cable. It looks fine but obviously it's not! Glad changing it helped you. Hope it does the same for me..

I was having the same problem maybe a year ago on my 2015 tahoe ltz. Took it in to the shop had all the grounds cleaned up, but it eventually came back. I replaced the negative ground wire and it fixed for about 6 months. Now it's doing it again. This has to be a recall. Going to check the hot battery terminal and the ground by the speaker next. After that I'm getting rid of this thing. I'll keep everyone posted.

i have a 2014 sierra 5.3L and my truck had flickering dash lights while slowing down and turning out on the road. then as i was turning to get in my driveway it just shut down with no power to anything. it was completely dead. after troubleshooting the battery, battery main fuse, checked all fuses, cleaned all grounds from battery to passenger side of engine block and chassis and removed the insulation from the ground under the driver side dash, nothing helped at all. until i wiggled the negative terminal on the battery and then i finally got power and started the truck right up. it happened again later on that day when i was at the dealer getting the new ground cables to replace from the battery to side of engine block and chassis. after replacing the ground cable that problem hasn’t happened again. save your guys time and skip all of that and just replace the ground cables.

For everyone who's having flickering dash lights, , the truck suddenly shutting down when lowering the speed to idle, slipping transmission (sometimes) a voltage reading under 14 volts (9 to 11) nav system and radio suddenly shutting down..., YES, THIS IS THE PROBLEM believe it or not. A bad ground because with time starts to get rusted or dirty and is not properly making the ground as it should be, taking off the screw and cleaning the parts, where it goes connected and the metal that the screw holds fixes everything.

Dude!!!!! I wish I would have seen this video first lol , I changed my spark plugs , wires , coils , injectors , tps, accelerator pedal and sensor and ground wires , but my truck was still running rough at idle and in drive and no acceleration from dead stop , come to find out my battery is at 8 volts , come to find out my ecu didn’t have the correct voltage to operate the ecu and throttle position, and that’s why I was getting tps codes and stabilitrak codes and I was overheating at idle , just really weird symptoms and this is the biggest but of my life !!!! But !! But I just got the battery 2 months ago and my truck starts just fine, without the correct voltage it made my truck run like shit , I thought my ecu was bad and all kinds of stuff, I assumed because I just got the battery, didn’t even cross my mind to test it😆😆😆never again will I assume!!!?truck started easily , it just wouldn’t show more than 8.93 volts at the post 😂😊

A lot of my fuses are messed up, ground wires, alternator, pretty much all electrical. I will get a list either tomorrow or in the next 2 or 3 days. I'll comment when I get my full report. Did not effect my stereo system on a negative way just cut my base out. I got 2 12s under back seats. Thay fuse box hard shorts all over it. A week ago I removed the front dash panel and check both grounds at each pillar tucked up under windshield. Driver side was good. Passenger side was tight but wires sitting on the rubber matting. Removed the speaker. Loosened the nut to get all the rubber removed that the wire was sitting on. Cut all of it off around the bolt. Tightened back up and drove a week without issue. Today I drove about 28 miles. Shutoff truck. Went to get back in it and it would not unlock from key fob.. so, I assumed all electrical was out.. used key to get in truck. Amp steps did not work. Turned key nothing… not a sound.. just put new battery in a week ago. Checked both battery connections and both were tight. Another fella saw my hood up and came over to assist.. spent about 15 minutes checking fuses battery terminals and nothing. So, was planning on calling tow truck.. the fella and myself wanted to push the truck out of the way.. turned key nothing.. put truck in neutral and pushed it about 30 feet. I was steering and both of us pushing. Got to the spot I wanted it parked. Pushed the brake down put it in park. And all the power came back and truck fired right up… I also fixed the grounds underneath the truck… pulled bolts out. Grinding down to bare metal putting dyo electric grease on the bolt and tightened them all down… now I am wondering what my next step should be? And help and guidance would be appreciated. My thoughts of possibilities are. 1) ignition switch I am leaning towards that or a ground I am missing? When it would happen when truck is running the truck continues running fine. Just all electrical goes out… I mean everything…. All lights entire dash… which is a huge safety concern driving at night? Any thoughts? Thanks

I know it sounds stupid but I wonder if the Apple ID might be interfering with the cars key chip Iv seen the little bling ring around the key whole mess with a car n it not start just cuz of the little bedazzled ring for dress up around the key whole but I think the Apple ID might be built smarter then that but I’m not sure just a thought

I’m kinda late to the game but I bought a 2014 GMC Sierra and had issues with its theft deterrent system.
I thought it was a grounding issue too, so your video has helped me look for grounds in places I didn’t know to look for
Thanks for posting the video, great help.
Congrats on your job at the PO 🎉

I went to the local GMC dealer and had a new factory key made and that fixed the issue, haven’t had the issue come up since

Chief, I was having the same issues. No joke I had just joined a gym and the RFID key fob I got for the gym is what was causing the truck to go into anti-theft mode. I took it off my keyring, never had an issue with it again.
