    That's left me thirsty. The only criticism I might have is the wide spacing between the wagons when coupled. Kadee couplers would fix that. A train to be proud of Paul, well done. David.

      I do agree David. I’ve yet to try the fixed rake coupling bars which may improve things. If not, I’ll go full Kadee on them for sure. Paul

    ¡Hola buenos días Paul! Seeing you appear through the loft hatch, the smile and, the glint in your eyes, you’d have thought it was Christmas come early! However, that initial presentation was wholly justified as that rake of wagons was beyond impressive. Irish Models have certainly pulled the stops out with this one. I pity the poor guys in your goods yard, they’ll have to get their boss to invest in a suitable cage handling unit. Well done on your purchase Paul. Un saludo. Gary

    The first view of the Guinness train passing through your “snow” covered landscape made me think you have created an Irish version of the famous Coca Cola Christmas adverts with the red trucks in the snow! Worth a screen shot for your custom Christmas cards this year!!!!!

  • @MalcolmCrabbe
    @MalcolmCrabbe Před 4 lety

    My first thought was that they looked a bit "basic" being all the one colour including the bogies, but then when the kegs were loaded and the train run that was something else. I'm sure with a little light weathering to take off that fresh out of the paint shop look they will look even better. I wouldn't do anything about the squeaky wheels, it adds realism, especially as DCC sound is now all the thing :)

    • @GalgormHall
      @GalgormHall  Před 4 lety

      It’s one of the quirks of Irish wagon stock, the majority are either finished in that red oxide colour or grey. All the colour flare was kept for their locos and coaches. Some day I’ll pluck up the courage to weather them down slightly but on such expensive models I’m in no hurry. 😆 Paul

    • @MalcolmCrabbe
      @MalcolmCrabbe Před 4 lety

      @@GalgormHall I wouldn't say they were expensive. 8 wagons for 370 euro, that's 46 euro (£41) a wagon, which given the detail on the casks, and the flexibility of running the wagon un-loaded, loaded with empty crates or full crates with casks I think is good value for money. Hattons FEA-S intermodal wagons are £32 each and that is without any loads.

    Great video Paul I just had to get some of these wagons so have just ordered 3 packs. You mentioned squeaky wheels and as did another subscriber, have you cured the squeak and if so what did you use?. The covers on the axles (the ones that rotate with wheels when moving) have you had any coming off? I presume they just push back onto the axle if they do come off. My canisters on the wagon will be filled with Newcastle Brown Ale so that must be a clue as to where I come from. Keep producing your excellent videos I really enjoy watching them, Bill.

    • @GalgormHall
      @GalgormHall  Před 4 lety

      Hi Bill, you really won’t be disappointed with them whether hauling a pint of the black stuff or a few Newcie Browns. I haven’t addressed the wheel squeak yet, to be honest I haven’t run them since recording the video. Therefore I also haven’t had any issues with the axle boxes popping off so no need to replace anything as yet. Like you I’d assume they just pop on and with 16 spares per pack you should be ok for a while on replacements. Thanks for the kind words on the channel. Paul
