Happy that y’all are getting some help with those stones, you both work so hard, & I admire you both for working so hard. Please take care of your backs, I am 77 & just had my 3rd back surgery last November. Raised on a farm & my husband & I have been farming for 58 years he finally retired last fall but when your young u think your invincible but I should have taken care with some of the heavy work I did years ago but we do not regret farming we loved it & raised our family on the farm. So just hang in there because it’s a great life. Looking forward to your next video. The kittens have grown so much & your flowers are beautiful. Have a blessed week.

In my country, where the land is so flat and the soil is wet, a tractor makes a ditch along the field, every few meters. This is how water is drained from the soil and taken away from the field. Maybe that would help you. xoxo

Oh dear, beaten by the rain! It’s so frustrating, we have storm Nelson battering the uk this Easter weekend! Very windy with lots of very heavy showers.
You just get everything together to start the job and once again the rain pelts down! I feel your frustration! Like you and Gina I’m trying to get a head preparing the veggie garden. It seems this year is wet through out Europe! There’s no point in trying to work the soil it is just too wet!
Hopefully, next week will be dryer rather than wetter, after all it is officially spring now! Let’s get some spring weather, please! Have a good week.❤

Lifting stones.......I did a few jobs on drystone walls etc To lift the very heavy rocks i drilled a safety bolt with a lifting eye into the rock These have a sacrificial foot on the embedded end, so the bolt is reused hundreds of times. The sacrificial pieces are very cheap. So the rock can be lifted by one point and has great scope to rotate it or even swing it further up the corse to place it correctly. Check out Ramset ,or the like to source the safety bolts

The carrots are very small because the nutrients that should have gone to them went to the herbs. It is necessary to remove the herbs that suffocate them. The same applies to the other vegetables.

So much rain this year is making for difficult gardening. At least you got a few carrots, and the beans you cooked looked delicious. Hope there will be breaks in the rain and you can get some stone work done.

The chickens were happy about the digging! But my heart sinks at the same time, the very last thing to do on wet soil is drive over it 😢 We have been reclaiming parts of our field (in rural Bulgaria) to make vegetable and flower gardens, and the simplest thing to do is cover it. I used weed fabric until the grass is killed off, then we put the chickens on the area inside an electric net. Even though I follow Charles Dowding’s No Dig, I did rotavate once because it is so very compacted and water would just run off. Then I add a thick layer of compost, sometimes with a layer of cardboard below, and plant. If our climate was wetter I would use wood chips in the paths but it’s been so dry I’m going to try sowing clover. Some perennial weeds still come through but they are getting weaker all the time, the annual weeds I just hoe off.
Hello and thank you for your sharing your experience .. we definitely will think how we could handle garden area better way .. I think it will take few years to get there where we would be happy with it :) everything take time and experience as different continence different conditions and different planting ways .. This year we still will be concentrating more on renovation and then we can put all our energy in improving garden :)
Carrots need soft soil to be able to penetrate and grow. I advise adding fine sand to the soil and trying carrot cultivation. Good luck and all the best
Definitely ... this was just experiment which didn't really succeeded .. I think that part of our garden was to cold as well unless carrots not scared of cold .. will try again this year :) different tactics ;)

I was thinking about your rock lifting tripod. Have you tried putting the tripod at the lower level? That way you can lift the rocks straight up and then with a rope, swing the rock and drop in position. Just a thought.

Olá senhor Andrew e Gí adoro os seus vidios o senhor sempre muito engraçado a Gi farta-se de rir. Os adoraveis gatinhos e o seu cãozinho sao lindos tambem gosto das galinhas e entao o galo é lindo. Eu quando vejo o senhor Andrew a pegar naquelas pedras tao pesadas fico preocupada veja lá se dá cabo das suas costas ainda bem que vai ter ajuda de amigos fico feliz porque para a Gi e o senhor Andrew é muito pesado fazerem essa cozinha de pedra sózinhos eu acho que é demasiado tanto mais que já trabalham tanto noutras coisas a Gi tem uma horta muito boa e faz uma comida deliciosa. Desejo uma optima semana para os meus queridos amigos tenho muita estima afinal de contas sao do país dos meus avós maternos que vieram da Letónia durante a segunda guerra mundial e morreram em Portugal assim como minha mãezinha e minha tia eu adororava os meus avós era muito pequenina quando eles morreram.

Hello! With your garden area so boggy, have you considered using raised beds? Or having a couple of truckloads of sand for drainage? Or getting a mule and plowing your field the old fashioned way?😉 and how many eggs do you get a day?
Hello :) we thought about using raised beds would solve loads of problems ... hopefully after few years we will be happy gardeners ;) Our chicks do from 9 to 8 eggs a day .. (we got 9 of them )

Dogs bark to express themselves, that's their language. Guffy is so cute he doesn't bark excessively at all. He just likes to bark when he hears the tractor, I think he gets excited 😊 love these babies they are the best 💞

If the dog barking drives you nuts then that is your opinion you just got to learn to live with what mother nature provides if it provides a dog barking the wind blowing the rain or sunshine or whatever you got to learn to deal with it complaining does no good
