I am amazed every time I see these stone masons..... their strength is phenomenal! Maybe they helped build the pyramids, and reincarnated to this timeline to show us how it's done.😁

I don't think it is necessary in this instance, as you are not trying to stick the stones together - the mortar is to fill in gaps only - the stones are all touching other stones at various points, making this a 'dry stone wall' with judicious placement of prop and pinning stones for stability. If you later want to point or render the wall, adhesion is more important, so then it would be vital to remove dust and wet the surfaces. These thick walls with many large stones rely on gravity and good placement, not adhesion.

this house i now stripped to the bones, nice that these guys will instal a big window. Hard workers. we have a cold summer here in Holland, lots of clouds and chilly, i be indoors most of the time, hate it.
Hi Tina, it was very hot this week here .. was hard work. The house looks so much bigger because we lost the roof and opened up the wall ... looks very good

Wow it's really exciting watching these talented guys build. I'm also watching Raising Voyagers remodel a stone house in the Italian Alps. They have another amazing crew of stone masons. It's a truly fantastic strenuous trade, which goes back thousands of years.

Oh my goodness….these men are amazing! I don’t know how they move those boulders ….they’re so strong. Wouldn’t happen in the UK….loads of safety straps, hoists, hard hats, steel toe cap boots, a foreman, health and safety executive etc etc. Be careful everyone.
They are being very careful and looking after themselves
They could use a digger to put the stones on the wall then they don't have to break there back, just saying 😉.
Same here in NZ, but we would have the whole building encased in scaffolding, plastic and there would be a proliferation of orange cones, allover the site. I often wonder if the orange cone inventor was a NZ Health and Safety politician. 😊😊

Incredible progress. I think, if I may suggest, you should add a row or two of stones on the walls so you can lift the roof and maybe get habitable space under it. Just an idea.

Oh my goodness, each time you see something different, it is going to be lovely for you both when it is done! Are they going to take the fireplace out for you and repair that wall inside the main space? Loved the video, you are all working very hard to get your home walls, doorways and roof organized.
Hello :) Well The fireplace is left for me to destroy as I called it first !!!! ... Andrius will be supervising me ... ;)
You could make the bathroom behind the house, taking advantage of the fallen wall, that is not close to the eucalyptus trees.
We got different plans for that space ... We thinking to put bathroom in big irrigation tank.

good morning Lacy :) Hope you well !!! Unfortunately we ha another fox attack on saturday and it's not good news :( it's very sad... two week's it's been so calm so I thought fox left us .. I got more comfortable letting them out for longer period of times and not supervising them that close .. but when she came back on saturday .. and now they closed again... not ideal ...
Guffy just loves attention and extra kudos from everyone ...he is a good boy ;)

Another master class in stonemasonry. Theses guys are an absolute joy to watch, their skill is just amazing, their ability to see how everything sits together is just astounding! Then there’s their ability to lift bloody great boulders! It truly is a masterclass! Not only that but the speed with which they are getting the job done has to be seen to be believed.
Will you be knocking a hole through the adjoining room into the kitchen? Love the little fireplace and chimney breast what a great feature point.
Looks as if everything in the garden is growing well. You’ll be picking tomatoes soon G! Here in the uk it’s still very unsettled weather, I still haven’t got my tomatoes planted out. Don’t think it’s going to be a bumper harvest this year, everything seems to be very slow to start. ❤
Hello Rosemary !!hope you well :) Shame about the weather in Uk but in here we got strange weather as well .. it was so cold and then hot .. and now is 26-27 during the day ... unpredictable this year ...
The door from main barn to kitchen we not planning to do as we would loose wall space and it's not necessary for us .
Chimney - it's my next project to demolish !!!!! it's not staying and it's nothing good about it as all heat would go straight out the chimney and it would be to much smoke ... this is not a heating option for us .. we have AMAZING log burner which be took with us from UK and we will us that .. it will be so beautiful and I can't wait to light a fire again :)

Carumba! I really wish they would employ a lift for those big stones. Wondering what those lintels are made of that are covered in plastic?
They from wood :) the same ones Andrius cut ;) but we wrapped it so it wouldn’t get dirty during building process !! lime and wood could be dangerous as it would stain the beams… so we covered ourselves and we wrapped it in breathable membrane xxx

Beautiful lilies, but they are extremely toxic to cats. Just brushing up against them and then the kitty washes their fur can kill them. Great progress on your kitchen! That stone mason is so talented.

What an excellent surprise! The whole Radical Masonry crew is a wonder to watch, and Vicente is just other-wordly: the way he just wills those granite slabs and stones into place and obeyance, determined to do as a human what his ancestors accomplished with their alien crafts and levitating abilities! And he's got a 360° 4D vision in his mind of what stones will go where at what point WHILE he's working with the stone in his hands. One team member matches his strength and sure footedness; another is quick, light on his feet and also strong, and seems Vicente's auxiliary brain -- knowing what/which stone to pass him when and where to be at any given moment.
And you, A&G, weren't slacking either! I saw you, G, sweeping away & flinging hoefuls of stones like they were pebbles 🦸♀️. (The enchada is a hoe, right?) Goodness, i would wanna help you prepare trays of food for everyone to chow down on at the end of work day. I'd be all "Let there be cake!" Or cobbler, or great huge brownies or massive cookies!
For all their grueling work, i'd barter to feed them every Sunday dinner for a year ~~ does that seem right? 2 years? 3?? Yeah, bc i would be FINE eating beans & rice every other day in my fiiiine a** stone house that they "remodeled" for me 😁.

You are totally 100% correct about Radical Masonry: Jota - tall, strong, funny, very healthful and always smiling !!!! Vinicius - always happy to help, very kind, fast, strong and looks like never complained that he mixed nearly 300 (or even more) wheelbarrows of lime mix and Vicente - he looks after his team mates, makes them work extra hard .... but in a good way ;) when he works with stone he knows 3 -4 steps ahead and he just got his vision ... he loves all animals specially Aranha .. and he loves to sing. But I hope he will get new shoes thought these ones he wearing got "a bit" of wear and tear signs ... just saying ...
I am sure I will have chance to cook for them again just as a thank you for what they done .. Yesterday evening I went to the kitchen and I felt so small between them BIG walls .. the scale of it it's just unbelievable ... it definitely felt like I would be in a castle .. I wonder how this will feel when we will put roof on .. definitely good choice to have windows and glass door at it will bring some light in ...

I'm not a physical therapist, but i started straining my back in my 20s, so here's Auntie Ruthie's learned-the-hard-way, schooled-by-medical-professionals guide to heavy lifting:
Squat down to the heavy object;
Secure it as close as poss to your chest;
Squeeze in your abs;
Breathe in, filling your lungs;
Lift with your quads to stand,
While steadily breathing out;
Keep breathing steady breaths;
Carefully lower & release object,
While keeping your abs tight and as much weight as possible OFF the small of your back -- PROTECT IT;
Slowly uncurl your back from neck & shoulders down.
Rinse and repeat.
Icepack any soreness 10 mins on, 10 mins off... repeat.
Have kitten or Guffy walk on your back to also stimulate healing red cell oxygenated bloodflow to damaged (sore) tissue/cells.
Kiss kitten or Guffy. 🥰

I’m curious about the lintel being put up with the plastic covering on it. Can you explain please? Does the lime cement adhere to it? Never seen this before 🙃
We just didn't want lime to touch wood and stain it (it's hard to clean it after ).. so we wrapped it and it's breathable membrane so wood will breath anyway

Vicente is very clever and he looks after his and his team safety and even mine when I was filming. I am sure he knows his possibilities and he knows what he is doing as this comes with years of practice

Of course I was worried ... I think everyone would of .. but I just trusted them and knew what they know what they doing .. Before every big stone would go on the wall Vicente always said a briefing what it would be action plan if stone would fall or drop .. everyone knew what to do ... and what to expect .. and they had each other backs every single time they handled big stones or small stones !!! Maybe it's hard to show that on video but trust my word he looks after everyone more than you imagine :) And his team would so the same for him xxx
