- Skiathos or as many people call it "the european St. Maarten" has one of the craziest airports in europe. Airplanes have to surpass a stree behind the runway which became a tourist attraction on the small greek island.
This man on the moped saw my camera and right before a Boeing 737 departed he positioned himself right behind the engines. When the Boeing 737 pilots set the takeoff thrust the guy received a massive push by the jetblast and disappeared on the horizon. His name was Moped Men and he was the fastest Moped driver alive.

I got the impression the local authorities had tried to stop people getting so close because they were getting flung across the road and onto the rocks and into the sea by the exhaust blast.

It really amazes me how stupid people can be. At 2:03 that aircraft is so low the landing gear could hit someone's head. I know it's wonderful, but it's just bullshit to stand so near the aircraft.

Skiathos Airport officials are not responsibility for people who are dangerous with low altitude.
If something happens to people, they will end up to hospital or funeral homes.
St. Maartens is one of them as dangerous airports. It’s very rare for people died from aircrafts.
The engines are very powerful to explode to people before its takeoffs.
I think small aircrafts like ATR, Embraer or Airbus-220s will choose Skiathos Airport. It’ll make an easy for people.
What is this stop for? I see no reason. The Jets just turn around and take off
@Leonard Tan well, you know nothing about business. What drives them is revenue, from either passengers or freight, these are not small planes that do not cost maybe hundreds to fly around, but at the small end hundreds of thousands in Jet fuel alone and the help alone cost them about a thousand dollars by itself. And big planes like that like to land near empty in fuel and then fill up in order to take off again in case of any issues. That is why the recent problems with crashes did not end up with then wrecked planes turning into a fireball
