      Wow i never thought of it that way

    • @jadensilveira2188
      @jadensilveira2188 Před rokem +10

      Yeah that could probably do a quite a bit of lift at that speed but it wouldn’t be entirely lift anymore.
      it starts to be a Mix of forces at higher speeds the earth is pretty large like really large. Like 25,000 miles around large and Mach 1 is 750mph. M9 is 6,900mph so it could do a round trip in about 3.6 hours
      the escape velocity of earth is like Mach 30 (23018mph) so that probably be like just a bit to slow to get any really strong effect from the curve he’d need to go faster then it be like when you go over a hill or a bump really fast and you get that feeling of floating but it would be continuously like you were in space.
      density and pressure probably would be a closer hypothesis. The faster you go in a fluid like air A lot of properties shrink and grow exponentially like drag and the way the high and low air pressure bubbles interact with the wing and grows bigger and stronger. The fluid gets “thicker” too because your hitting more particles and they can’t get out of the way fast enough some airplane can fly with only one wing if they go fast enough in any direction and earths curve is said to be different because it’s bulged at the equator. high speed missiles probably feel the almost like antigravity centripetal force effect from it the curve
      Your answer is pretty good one definite like👍
      that’d be awesome to see someone do that flight they be like a comet flying across the sky

    • @calvinnickel9995
      @calvinnickel9995 Před 18 dny +3

      Yeah for sure. I calculated it for the SR-71 once and I think it was like 5% or something like that.
      Truthfully though.. the drag would be so great that endurance would be measured in minutes and the aircraft wouldn’t be usable again (the SR-71 needed fuel not because it leaked.. but because it took a significant amount just to get airborne; the X-15 was nearly destroyed in its world record flight; and the shuttle required months of post flight servicing to be ready again). This is why most concept hypersonic aircraft usually fly a ballistic arc mostly outside of the atmosphere.

    After the inverted dive to gain speed, you can then reach mach 3 if you keep ascending at the right angle, so there is no need for a second dive to turn on the scramjets. It just takes some practice and slow movements to keep the energy. Try it out! Nice vid bro, this plane is addictive!

Retract your wings at about 7500MPH and put the juice to your engine, get ready for escape velocity and retrorocket firing once you're in that balance with gravity. By now you should be navigating by geomagnetics or your "blind-guidance" system. And don't forget to tell Ant May hello for me, I ain't seen her for 30 years!

      @MrTrevisol4 Před 2 lety +5

      A more technical aspect, as you go close to the critical mach number (the mach 1.0 till mach 1.65~) the drag increases exponentially, to the point where you need afterburners to maintain such speeds in normal operations. The transition between mach 1 and 2 is the most critical part in the entire flight, since the air intakes are not made for that speeds, the engine power and the aircraft just doesn't handle well, so by doing the dive method you'll convert the stored energy (from altitude) to power to bypass that problem.
      About going inverted, two reasons, G forces and efficiency; Because humans can tolerate much more positive g forces than negative, you'll roll inverted at that speed, so that's one reason.
      Second is, as you go down, you're not cutting more air from the intakes (which are not very effective at that speeds as i said), so you'll have more thrust as well.
      As you reach mach 2.3 and above, you can turn off the afterburners and you'll notice that the darkstar "feel at home" around mach 3, you'll notice the huge power increase because the intakes are now working way better, and the engines as well, you can even remain there without afterburners as long as the fuel allows, but you'll re-enable the afterburners to reach the speed needed to enter the scram mode (mach 3.6 and above), and after this point it's easy as to toggle two switches and simply go.
      Remember that, this plane is made to be around very high speeds, so anything lower, it'll behave mostly unconsistent and unpredicteable, as you might know, landing this thing is a nightmare.

      @@MrTrevisol4 The inverted dive is also due to load factors. Planes are generally built to be able to withstand way more positive gs than negative gs, hence why fighter jets also roll inverted when they need to pitch towards the ground quickly. Airfoils also work favorably for positive angle of attacks so it helps.

      The thing is not in space, if you note the equivalent airspeed meter it reads ~500 knots during cruise, so the aircraft is encountering the same dynamic pressure as it would get going 500 knots on the deck, i.e. quite substantial. The air may be very thin at 275000 feet, but the plane is going so fast that it rams into more of it per second.
