    Whoops, somehow missed that Wood Elves was already in the deck. I cannot stress enough how hard it was to come up with these replacements! We recommend Yavimaya Dryad as a replacement for Farhaven Elf instead, a little bit more versatile of a ramping elf. Thanks for understanding!

    Almost ALL the other precon upgrade videos on this precon move towards elfball strategy with infinite combos. I SUPER appreciate yours with the combat damage route and taking advantage of the commander fully. I think it is a more fair strategy, especially since my play group is not super competitive.

    I actually really dig this commander. I also love these commander precons coming out with each set. I hope they keep the long term. So often wotc will introduce something and it’ll die off fast. I like these as they give us more guided commander options for newer mechanics that don’t have much otherwise.

    which is the best preconstructed deck to buy?

    • @CommandValley
      @CommandValley  Před 3 lety +1

      That’s a great question, and a hard one to answer. Out of all the most recent sets, our conclusion is basically that they all stand a good chance at being good, balanced decks. So I would say choose this: choose the deck that has the play style that you like the most! They’re all unique in that aspect and it’s really up to the player to decide.
      Out of the two that just came out, although we haven’t had time to properly test them, I would say that the Lathril elf tribal deck has the stronger pool of upgrades to choose from, as Elf Tribal has been a solid strategy almost since the dawn of magic. Half of Ranar’s abilities revolve around a new mechanic that just came out, and the other half takes a bit to make really work. That said, I would guess that these decks work fantastically when played against each other and either one would be really fun to play depending on your style. - Peter

      But if i want to buy a preconstructed deck from the last 4-5 years?
      Which One do you suggest?

    • @CommandValley
      @CommandValley  Před 3 lety +1

      Great question, and honestly it’s one that we don’t really have a good answer for. I’d follow the advice of buying the play style that you click with and going from there. Looking that far back there are definitely some amazing decks that are now, unfortunately, priced higher than they probably should be, so you have to take price into account. My personal recommendation would be to look at the $20 pre-cons from the last couple of years, and also look at any of the previous precons besides the ones from 2019 and 2020 for the highest quality ones. The 2019 ones seemed underpowered and didn’t have a lot of meaningful overly applicable power to them, having a lot of specific niche cards, and the 2020 decks also suffer from being a bit underpowered and require considerable upgrades.

    • @CommandValley
      @CommandValley  Před 3 lety +1

      My personal favorite buy was Lord Windgrace from Commander 2018, for a Jund lands-matter commander that’s really good at what he does and has a lot of value in the deck by itself.

    I think cutting Wolverine Riders is a huge mistake, elves make so much mana & that card is busted. I get it, you don't want too many high cmc elves but each upkeep happens a lot in a 4 player game.
