  • Greetings, everyone! Welcome to The Commander Tavern! I am Demented Kirby and this is the 19th episode of the 5th season of one of the series on this channel, The Brewery. This series is all about brewing and deck techs - hopefully showcasing the spiciest of brews!
    This episode of The Brewery is my take on Lathril, Blade of Elves. I focused more heavily on voltron than straight up elf tribal since Lathril can create a huge amount of elf tokens if she manages to get through. So by creating as many elves as possible you should be able to either drain the table with Lathril or overwhelm the board with tokens. If you want to see the complete decklist for this deck, you can find it at this link: tappedout.net/mtg-decks/01-02...
    As always, thanks to all you viewers for your interest! Comment down below how else you'd build around Lathril, Blade of the Elves. You can also tweet me @CommanderTavern.

    Great video! I love my Lathril deck, and have been thinking about trying her out Voltron-style

      Yeah, I had a ton of fun with this one. Too many people sleep on her potential for being a voltron commander, instead focusing super heavily on the tribal aspects of it.

    Another solid deck list as always! I would suggest a couple cards. Throne of the God Pharaoh is a good way to double up your commanders ability and end the games faster. Also Nullmage Shepherd for pesky artifacts had enchantment problems you may not have if you don’t have a hand.

      Those are super solid suggestions! Not only are they relevant to what the deck is doing, but overall solid cards as well.

    Necropotence vs The Great Henge for card draw power is certainly a debate I've never considered before. Those two cards are seriously good!

    Ambush Commander is a nono. If you get boardwiped, all of your forests are now gone because they're creatures. Unrecoverable.

      It's more of a finisher than anything, though. Especially if it helps fuel Lathril's ability.

    It is important to remember, that there is alot of counter play against lathril. I have been testing lathril now and it is really weak against removal.

    So instead of equipping illusionist bracers on lathal instead do this, equip illusionist bracers on seeker of the sky break and infinitely untap all creatures you control and activate lathril an infinite amount of times.

    • @TheCommanderTavern
      @TheCommanderTavern  Před 3 lety

      @@dakotavaughn-luttrell6593 Since the bracers copies the untap ability of Seeker of Skybreak, you target Lathril with its copy and then itself with its original. That way both Lathril and itself are untapped in order to do it again.
