  • It's time for Dina! Landon brings his exciting new Witherbloom commander deck that cares about lots of incremental lifegain synergies while fitting in standard aristocrats synergies, with a lot of help from the new Strixhaven set!

    Couple changes i would suggest:
    Remove the extra sack outlets, Dina already does that quite well. Its only one mana and no tap, you can use it a ton. This makes room for 5 cards.
    Wurm's tooth, Demons horn, tablet of the guilds, whip of erebos, and Kokusho the evening star.

      I made a mediocre deck without even buying singles! Defiantly a great budget commander

      That's awesome to hear. I may have to consider it down the line as a budget build with a low power level to play with friends that have similar builds!

    I like using Tend the pest on a Daemogoth titan then Plumb the forbidden on all the pest which then triggers Bastion of remembrance.

    I basically tried to do Dina as a landfall life gain deck, with Retreat to Hagra and Retreat to Kazandu, life gift, offshoot, kazandu honeypot and so on. It’s a fun take on the life gain archetype

      I had this kind of idea as well, how'd it play? I had thought about manabond+ gitrog monster+ ad neasuem type additions

    I was thinking about building Dina, but now I absolutely have to. Another Landon making a deck that I was already eyeing? Yes please!

    Aetherflux is also a slam dunk in this deck, and Alhammaret's archive. Definitely good cards to think about.

    I really, REALLY enjoy having Greed in this deck. Who needs tutors when you can just draw your entire deck every game?

    Roots of Life would pair really well with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth

    Really nice build! Also I really enjoy your videos in general.
    Also one question: Wouldn't it be possible that you can swap out Dina with Beledros Witherbloom and put Dina in the 99? :)
    Or do you have to build it really different then.
    I'm still new to MTG so sorry if that's a dumb question.

    • @CommandValley
      @CommandValley  Před 3 lety +2

      Great question, and there are never dumb questions here 🙂 you technically can swap them out, but certain synergies would not work the same if you don’t always have access to Dina, which comes with both a sacrifice outlet and a way to pack more punch for your incremental life gain. For a Beledros deck, your win conditions will most likely be spells that you can sink a lot of mana into, and spells that gain you lots of life work better with Beledros than they do with Dina. That’s just my personal view on it in relation to this deck tech, but I’m sure there are decks that you can interchange the two and the deck would work great with either one!

    If you have a landfall provisioner, bounce land, Kodama
    of the east tree and Dina then you can go infinite

  • @KingKoral
    @KingKoral Před 3 lety

    Hmm, how about adding to the deck cards that trigger lifegain on themselves or whenever you cast a certain color of spell?
    I'm currently thinking about Fountain of Renewal for 1 lifegain trigger each turn and Demon's Horn or Wurm's Tooth for black and green spells ANYBODY casts so those two can trigger on my opponents trying to cast spells.
    And cool card to get multiple bodies to sacrifice later would be Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder, which with every creature creates Thrulls, which can trigger more ETB/LTB lifegain triggers for Dina.
    EDIT: Also forgot to mention the Cauldron Familiar, which is devastating for 1 mana only and Gilded Goose as mana dork/food producer. These 2 can easily create great loops of life gain/life loss in a deck like this.

      If you want more when on cast life gain prism ring, staff of the wild magus, staff of the death magus and so on

  • @Katie-hj5eb
    @Katie-hj5eb Před 3 lety

    Since its commander damage that means you only need to trigger it 21 times and is unhealable if I understand correctly. Going to build my own pest deck around her!

    • @MrKandlejack
      @MrKandlejack Před 3 lety

      For it to count as commander damage, the commander has to deal the damage. The effect on the card says "Whenever you gain life, each opponent loses 1 life." The commander is not directly dealing the damage, the effect is causing a loss of life, thus it will not count as actual commander damage.
