    This video is like an intro to unconventional card casting wrapped up in a commander deck tech

    Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal is a great win condition in this, since it draws you a card when you have Vega out.

    I'd love to play Uba Mask with Vega. Play a spell to draw a spell seems pretty good to me!

    Lol “the adventure zone”. That sounds awesome but it’s actually just exile lol

    I always like the good old beat down strategy and with a commander like this people don't expect it. Get your hand nice and huge then cast Righteous Authority or Empyrial Plate on Vega then hit someone in the face 👊 for commander damage. If they have blockers cast Distortion Strike then kill another player next turn! Haha with that aside a card like Cast Through Time or anything with rebound might fit in well?

      Psychosis Crawler for the win when K.Pool is in play... then cast loads of instants

      Right? This was a first thought for me. Every spell is a drawn spell. Gets crazy.

      With Drannith Magistrate for the lockout win

  • @brandonteppelin6353
    @brandonteppelin6353 Před 3 lety +1

    Straight up Psychosis Crawler.
    You're drawing cards like no one's business, and have access to clones and clone spells, along with murmuring mystic...
    If you draw a card and do a little damage, plus having a small army of angry birds to swing with, not many people are going to stand up to constant pinging with access to flyers and Counterspell effects.
    Also considering you have quite a few instant and Sorcery spells, Rise from the Tides is an excellent card.

    I am a fan of Dramatic Reversan and Isochron Scepter for the win in this deck. Blue and white tutor artifacts easily and blue can find Reversal. This type of strategy is more tuned, but you don't have to play tutors.

    If you cast a card from the top of your library with future sight and vega draws you a card, do you reveal that card before putting it into your hand? Or do they only see the card that comes after the one you drew?

    • @CommandValley
      @CommandValley  Před 3 lety +2

      Great question! The answer is that you do reveal the card that you draw. Future Sight’s ability is a state based action, meaning it doesn’t use the stack. For state based actions, it will check in between each trigger/spell/ability resolving on the stack. So, you cast the top card of your library, and the Vega trigger will go on the stack. Before the trigger resolves, you’ll reveal the top card of your library, and then Vega’s trigger resolves and you draw. Then the top card is revealed again before the spell you cast resolves.
      Hope that clears it up!

    So how about eye of the storm?
    Whenever a player casts an instant or sorcery card, exile it. Then that player copies each instant or sorcery card exiled with Eye of the Storm. For each copy, the player may cast the copy without paying its mana cost.
    Combined with a labman style effect it could be pretty easy to deck out if you ramp it in quick. Even more so if something like minds dilation is out and you're shoving opponents spells into the storm as well.
    On another note if you want to be a terrible person you could run either/both of the the knowledge pool combo cards which are
    Lavinia, Azorius Renegade
    Teferi, mage of zhalfir
    For those unfamiliar both of these cards when combined with knowledge pool basically say your opponents can't cast spells. So yea you usually win the game but lose friends at the same time.
