Once you see dry or mushy grounds and not a nice puck start cleaning that brewer thoroughly. Also use vegtable based grease as a lubricant

It depends on the age of your machine; some of them have access at the screen with a screw, some of them don't at all (you'd know which one you have, as it either shows a screw or it doesn't). A lot of the older models, you have to access it from the top and use and allen wrench to release it. - Kat

Do you have a regular descaling routine? Instructions are in the user manual. We have one posted on the product page under the resources tab if yours has gone missing. Also a regular water filter change will help the coffee taste better and the machine last longer. thanks! ~sam

Great Video! Except for one part. I have a Saeco Talea Giro Plus and learned that the brew group screen comes off by loosening the screw in the middle of the actual screen. This is done after you remove the whole dispensing section from the top of the group. I think you guys made a mistake at 14:00 min in when you said to use an allen wrench on the Talea brew group, too. There is no allen fitting to turn on these particular groups. Again, you remove the screen from below. I hope this helps.

I hope you still look for questions in old videos ;) i have a Saeco Odea Giro plus. I have been having problems with the "pucks". I don't beleive the taste is the same. The brew unit is not ejecting formed pucks but instead is ejecting "mud" There is a lot of water in the pucks that are ejected. I have depp cleaned the brew unit and the brew gasket has been changed. Any advise would be appreciate :) Thank for your videos .. they are great!

Occasionally I get a grinding noise during travel, and a puddle of water under the tray. Besides cleaning the brew group, is there anything that I need to unclog on the machine side (synthia). The machine still brews correctly though, just tired of cleaning the puddle. I think the puddle is because water mixes with grounds around the brew group.

When you say "spray them" - is regular silicone spray doing the job? I lubricate all spots you showed by hand with silicone lubricant. Spray would be much easier to use even If it hasn't the same preferences as the one out of a tube. I could compensate that by spraying more often

  • @dpete8995

I have a Royal… is there an adjustment to make the brew group return fully to the home position? My machine fails to return fully into home position, leaving a gap between the dosing funnel and the edge of the brew group. This allows fresh grounds to bypass the brew group and fall through the mechanism into the bottom of the housing. This begins to happen within only a few cycles of cleaning and lubing the brew group and gets worse with subsequent cycles, as more dry grounds fall through/ accumulate in the mechanism.

Quick question, I have one Saeco Royal Black and one Saeco incanto, So the brew unit can be totally water washed? no problem with the metal screws or the grease inside them? And if this is so, can i just water wash both of these units of these two models and then, once dry, should i grease the areas needed?

Thank for your clear instructions. I have a Phillips Saeco Intelia which looks very much like the machines your demonstrating. Yesterday the debris drawer needed emptying but would not go home the shoot had not withdrawn. Took out and cleaned the brewing unit, started the machine without the brewing unit, the motor ran. I assume to find it's start position. Put the brewing unit the the two arrows aligned as you showed. But I cannot push the brewing unit home as though the drive motor shaft is not engaging into the brewer unit drive. If relevant the drive shaft has it's 2 big teeth pointing down.
    Looking forward to your help.
