    Guys, I want to thank you for this video and the other disassembly video's you made for the Saeco Odea series. Mine was broke I thought but thanks to your excellent video's I managed to repair the brew unit myself. Also learned a lot on how my machine actually works and what I need to do to maintain it properly. So thank you, great work and keep it up!!

    haha! My Odea was showing constant warning light...after checking brew unit alignment I followed your instructions.....the screen was BLACK on the inside.
    Anyway, turns out it was the water tank sensor / pressure.
    Thank you, the coffee flow will be great now...you are awesome!

    OK - talked with Brendan; I guess that they switched out the brew groups on these models part way through production and never updated their documentation. Your version doesn't have the spring / glass ball, so you should be perfectly fine! Sorry for the confusion; if you have any issues getting yours apart / back together again, message me and I can pass you to Brendan who'd be happy to walk you through over the phone if needed. Thanks! - Kat

    I have a Gaggia Platinum that has a similar, if not exact, brew group, but I don’t see the spring and glass ball as described in the video when I unscrewed for the first time. It makes coffee normally. Do you know if Gaggia Platinum should have the same spring and glass ball? If so, how should I order them?

    Sorry... one last question. My Talea Touch doesn't have the spring or the glass ball. Looking at the parts diagram on your site for my machine, it doesn't show the spring or the glass ball in the blown out diagram of the brew group. But the Odea diagram does, and Brendan mentioned the groups are all the same. I'm lost!

    After removing a Stuck Brew compartment & throughly cleaning it, & re-positioning the compartment to neutral position, the gear on the inside the Saeco Villa machine will not turn into the neutral position. I can no longer fit my brew unit back into the slot. Is there anything else that I can do????? I did the whole nine yards by placing the index card into the slot to engage the micro switch to switch on. The gear turns a little like it would normally but, the gear in the machine is still in the wrong position. Any further assistance appreciated.

    I have Gaggia platinum vision ,when brewing double shot it freezes on the second shot and nothing works until i turn it off and back on. It says dispensing failed and goes back to normal . I sent the machine for the repair , received it back and was told my grinder setting was on finest and it clogged my grinder. Grinder was set on the medium and i was told to keep it that way,however problem wasnt solved and it still does the same thing. I don't use oily beans, i clean and take care of everything. Do you have any idea what can be the problem? Thank you.

    My Saeco Italia is leaking water in and beneath the drip tray. I have watched your videos and found them to be helpful. Can you explain why there would be damp coffee grounds under the circular screen at the bottom of the tamper part? Also the grounds in the cup that catches them are wet. Dear SCG people, thank you very much for another interesting video. I have followed your instructions on my Saeco Odea Go and cleaned the brew unit. Unfortunately, it hasn't solved the problem I have with my machine: the brewed coffee is weak and watery and the used coffee after the brew in the coffee grounds drawer comes out as a thick watery paste, instead of dry compact disk it should. I have cleaned thoroughly the machine, I have tried different coffee beans, I have adjusted the grinder settings to minimum and maximum, with no success. Would you have maybe an idea of what is wrong with the machine? Thanks you in advance! Regards

    Thanks for the video. I have a Talea Ring Plus. It sometime stops rinsing (and being able to brew coffee). In the past, cleaning the screen worked and it would then work. I've now cleaned the screen but it still will not rinse, brew coffee (water does not come out of spout, a bang sound happens and it dispenses the water in the side tray). Any thoughts on further cleaning or how to fix?

    So, I have an Intelia, brewgroup have spring and glass ball. Took it apart, and the filter was extremely dirty, washed, and cleaned the red rubber band (not red anymore here.. )
    But still this machine leaks, it looks like the coffee from the brewhead leaks where it enters the machine again in the upper left corner, there is an white tube sticking out. Is it supposed to be an gasket there?

    • @TomasEkeli
      @TomasEkeli Před 10 lety

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  Před 10 lety

      Sorry to hear about the leak with your Intelia. The white teflon tube does not have a gasket. It seals naturally with the brew unit. Double check your assembly and that it is assembled properly. The glass ball should be at the bottom of the spring. Looking at an exploded view (parts diagram) of the brew unit could be very helpful for this. If this does not solve your problem, I would suggest taking your machine to an Saeco Certified Service Center. Hope this helps! - Brendan

    • @Neslekkim
      @Neslekkim Před 10 lety

      Have been looking a bit more at it before and after brewing, it might not be as much leakage from that point, it looks fairly clean, just a bit dirty, but the red gasket on the brewgroup, maybe we need to change that one, it's not red anymore.. even after washing it it's not getting red. so I'm trying to find one like that to swap it out.

  • @RJ-vo4zf

    How would you clean the brew-group and undo it from grease? My unit has coffee mixed with grease allover and I want to clean it up but cannot access the small parts.

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  Před 10 lety

      Soaking it in degreaser and rinsing it in hot water after while scrubbing the grease with a brush should do the trick but, the brew unit should always have lubricant/grease in order to work properly, so if the clean the grease off, you should reapply after. - Brendan

    When i push the button for making coffee it only leaks water and there is no coffee at all!?
    I checked and cleaned everything.
    Any final suggestions?

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  Před 9 lety

      Hello Quin Schoonewelle, It might be best to contact a local repair center. It could potentially be the grind setting, not being dialed in, so you could try going a little bit coarser, then brew about 4 cycles to see if it can push through while it tries to brew. However, if this doesn’t take care of it, there could still be a clog in the hoses from the brew unit to the spout, so you can try to use an air compressor through the small tube in the top left corner to see if there seems to be a clog, or use a tooth pick up the spouts to see if a clog can be cleared, but if that is clean, the machine may need a trip to a repair center for further diagnosis. ~Miranda

    Hi guys, i have a Saeco Talea Giro and lately will only brew coffee on first bean strenght, on second or third strength will grind compact than discard. Any ideas please?! Regards

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  Před 9 lety

      +cip damo Sounds like your grind is too course. So too much coffee is going into the brew unit, and when the machine tries to tamp, it's encountering too much pressure/resistance, so it discards the grounds as self-preservation.
      Try going finer (1-2 notches) and change it while the machine is grinding, then brew 4 cycles to clear out the mixture of old and new settings. If that doesn't do it, then it would likely need some repair, but give that a shot!

    I too have a problem with my Saeco Syntia. As withthe recent post below when I grind for an espresso, increasing amounts of fresh ground coffee accumulate below the brew group. I clean the brew group regularly and I have replaced the o-ring also. This has been an increasing issue over the last few months. I presume the grinder somehow is throwing the coffee other than straight down into the brew group. Is there some way to correct this?

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  Před 9 lety

      Hi Adrian Johnson, like the other issue below, are you unable to brew through? Or are you just finding extra dry grounds below the brew group?

    • @adrianjohnson2081
      @adrianjohnson2081 Před 9 lety

      Seattle Coffee Gear It seems to brew through ok but when the unit was new there were hardly any grounds to clean up. Now there are grounds to the rear of the brew group, along the back rail the group slides in on, behind this in the space behind when the door is wide open and directly beneath the brew group. It is fresh ground coffee only and an amount equal to a full grind by the looks.

    Hi:
    Do you have a video on how to take apart the grinder? We tried everything but it grinds and then dumps the ground coffee, dry, in the waste. it sometimes works for a larger size cup, but refuses to work on the minimum water setting ie. espresso.
    I have researched the internet for quite a while now and tried all the tips, course, fine, clean, etc.

      anybody??

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  Před 9 lety

      Hi squashkarakal! It sounds like it is too coarse of a grind setting. Dumping dry grounds is an indication that the machine can't tamp properly, so it just abandons the brew cycle before it even tries to push water through it. Try to go finer than where you are now, then be sure to grind at least 4 cycles at that new setting. This is the part that many people skip. The other important thing is to be grinding as you adjust to a finer setting, so that nothing gets stuck between the burrs, meaning that it doesn't actually make an adjustment.

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  Před 10 lety

      Don't worry, it's not missing. Different versions of the Talea have different style brew units. To remove the screen on the style of brew unit you have simply remove the brew dispensing assembly and remove the screen with a torx 10 screwdriver. This will allow access to your screen for proper cleaning. - Brendan

      Hello Nelson Cunha, Unfortunately we cannot offer at home repair advice beyond the videos that we provide. Removing the outer case of the Odea machines is a very involved process, as you will need to remove many components like the dispensing spouts and bean hopper. This is not something we instruct customers to try doing at home, and bringing in the machine to an authorized service center would be my best suggestion. Saeco can let you know if there is a service center in your area if you give them a call directly at 800-933-7876. Sorry I can’t be of better assistance on this! - Teri

      +Baron Bolis Well for cleaning, you can take out the unit, rinse it and re-grease it. But he takes it apart with a screw driver. If that is needed for regular cleaning, something is wrong with the machine's design.
